  1. My favorite is Lance giving some of his prize money to buy Johanna (sp?) a trip to see her grandmother. After she burned her leg. That episode never ceases to make me cry. Least favorite was the two featuring the bitchy Lauren van der Snot. I have never seen a more pretentious person on the show. Well, Tryg is up there, Christopher Coombs with all his stars and great restaurants, Penny Davidi. Cara whatshername, the blonde who won her redemption episode. My favorite chef is Kent Rollins. Another chef I've gotten to know personally, and he is an absolute down-to-earth good guy. I am going to try to go out to Oklahoma and take one of his chuck wagon cooking classes.
  2. I guess because I grew up in NC, moonshine is more of an American thing to me. I never knew Aussies made the stuff. I know plenty of people around here who make it, however. :) I really don't care for the shows that are one big advertisement for a product. That particular episode bored me to tears. Most of the ones that have run this year so far, I fall asleep and have to ask someone "who won?"
  3. Veterans are re-running right now. That one I didn't mind so much as those guys and the girl have done a helluva lot to earn our respect already. :)
  4. I like Scott. I can't stand Anton. Especially in this episode. His voice makes me want to stick my fingers in my ears. Can you imagine being next to him in bed every night, with that voice? ARRGGHH!! I like Rochelle also. She's a little ditzy, but I like that in a person when everyone else is a screaming, raving bitch on fire. :)
  5. She was also on one of those competition reality shows where you throw yourself at big rubber balls and stuff. I don't watch it so I have no idea what network it might be on. I can imagine her showing up on Hell's Kitchen, since they also use past Chopped contestants. I love Damaris Phillips' show that she got out of her win. I learn something with every episode. I think she, Guy, Sandwich King are some of the only successful winners with shows that get renewed or they get new shows. Everyone else has sort of been a one hit wonder. Then there's Kelsey Nixon who just keeps chugging along on the Cooking Channel. I ran into Alton Brown on a flight to LAX once and asked him about Justin. He got a funny look on his face, like he didn't want to discuss it, and said "We've just completed filming...." but didn't tell me it was one dud of a pilot. I've gotten to know Martie and seriously, the woman should have won. Her recipes are great, she's very sweet and very knowledgeable. I heard through the grapevine that Stacey Poon Koon or whatever her name is, her restaurant is not doing so well. I guess since she didn't get the TV show she so desperately craves, she lost interest in keeping it up.
  6. They've screwed up like that before. Spoiling episodes right and left. Whoever is driving Food Network might need to lay off the cocktails. Looking forward to the premiere Sunday night.
  7. I didn't think she had the food to win, but her constantly talking about why she just had to win told me she was a shoo-in. She did seem a little daft.
  8. "Does she have the awareness to be embarrassed by this behavior now that it's aired?" (I will try to figure out how to quote in here, sorry) No, the word "awareness" isn't in NeNe's vocabulary. I may have mentioned that Cynthia's red curly wig and the blue eyeshadow reminds me of Pennywise The Clown. And for whatever reason, her head is looking square. Sort of like Flathead in Dick Tracy. I don't know what she's doing different this episode.
  9. TWoP refugee. Why is there a gap between the posts? I am here to make sure everyone stays in a juvial mood.
