The EPs could always change their minds - but this is what they previously said regarding the seriousness of the Big Death and about using time travel or other devices to revoke a death...
-
I wonder if the EPs had to negotiate KC's departure for contractual reasons. Like maybe one of the stipulations was that Laurel would be the only Black Canary on Arrow - ever? I'm not surprised that they're keeping the door open for some version of her to return.
-
I said once that I think if they kill off Laurel/BC - yes, yes, I still can't believe it - then they won't leave Olicity fans happy either at the end of S4 - no happy O&F reunion. Instead, it'll be a cliffhanger ending that leaves the team completely or partly separated, with one or more characters' fates unknown. I think that whether or not the EPs bring back Laurel next season, as her Earth 2 Black Canary doppelganger, will depend on the severity of the reaction to her death on Arrow and its effect on ratings this season.

I've decided to drop Forbes reviewer Erik Kain from my regular media checklist. I don't mind when reviewers write something that I disagree with (reasoned debate is healthy), but I don't want to help promote their articles/webpages when they make no sense whatsoever and rely on reddit(!) to make a point. Then you lose all credibility with me. However, if any of you wish to keep up with Erik Kain's Arrow episode reviews, here are the links - enjoy!... http://www.forbes.com/search/?q=arrow https://twitter.com/erikkain

Since it was discussed, I just posted the Canadagraphs tweets in the Spoilers thread...

I guess that's the Quentin crossover to LoT. According to the gravestone, Laurel dies in 2016, when she's 30 or 31 years old (depending on her birthday month), which makes her the same age as Oliver. Maybe Quentin is the one who takes her to the hospital, thereby preserving the rest of the team's secret identities. For all we know, Star City erects a statue to Black Canary to stand in City Hall (as their beacon of hope).

Forbes reviewer Erik Kain is getting tedious in his dislike for Olicity - we get it, you hate Felicity now (Question: should I keep posting his Arrow reviews or drop him?)... If the person who's dying next week is being given a time of death in a hospital, then that person must've been wearing civilian clothes when injured. Otherwise, their secret identity would be revealed. I doubt they would take the time to change the person's clothes if they're rushing to the hospital. That would mean the person is either a non-masked character or a masked character who was not in costume at the time. For example, assuming Laurel is the big death - if she was the BC when critically injured, then she would've been rushed to the hospital while wearing the BC suit. And the others probably couldn't have taken the time to change their superhero suits as well. That would mean everyone would know that Laurel was the BC, and most likely everyone else's secret identities would be exposed as well. Therefore, in order to keep the superhero identities secret, the dying person would have to be wearing regular clothes when injured. That would support maybe something happening like a ticking time bomb in a public place, targeted at one or both of the Lances. Or, if we go solely by those promo pics, it happens in the Arrowcave while Laurel is in civilian clothes. Again, assuming the big death is Laurel, and not Quentin, Diggle or someone else. On a superficial note, it does look like SA has trimmed down some (not that he was ever overweight, just bulkier). Maybe he only super bulked up for his SummerSlam match with Stardust? ETA: After seeing the gravestone screenshot posted below, it looks like injured Laurel will be taken to the hospital while in her BC costume, thus exposing her secret identity to the world. If that is the case, I assume the circumstances are such that everyone else's secret identities are still protected.
