DR's WW Minneapolis panel on May 7... David Ramsey Wizard World Minneapolis 2016 Published on May 16, 2016, by Three If By Space - Convention Coverage -- On being asked for Arrow spoilers, DR joked: "'Who dies next?' Well, I hope you don't like Felicity." (Audience groaned and then laughed.) -- DR said that he wanted to be John Stewart and that was "kinda the intention of some of the producers, not all of them." He said that the producers have their own idea of where they want to take the show, but "there's a lot of red tape and a lot of politics in filming, particularly when you're dealing with, you know, things of a particular franchise's. ... So every time we get a character, there's - like, DC has to approve it, approve it, approve it. ... Two seasons ago, there was a Suicide Squad episode we were doing, and there was a shot of Harley Quinn, right?... And it was a thing in the script, like she had a scene, and some moments, and it got dwindled down to just showing her back and just hearing her voice, because by the time it got through the channels, it was like 'you know, there are some other things we want to do with that character, and this is all you can do with it.' ... Another case in point was in the wedding I had last season, I think, with Lyla - the second time around we got married - and Ray Palmer officiated the wedding - dude, the script originally said, 'Do you, John Diggle Stewart, take Lyla whatever Michaels' - this was on the day, guys, this happened on the day. ... And then it got changed to John S. Diggle. And then I changed it to Diggle. ... My point is ... there are a lot of 'yes'-ses you kinda have to go through for any of this to be approved, let alone someone as large as Green Lantern. So for now the producers have gone on record to say that, right now, the John Diggle character is not John Stewart. But, you know, things change. I mean, I don't think they knew from the offset that Canary was gonna die. Who knew that? Was that a spoiler? You didn't know that? Where you been, girl? (Little kid in audience yells, "I did!" Audience laughs.) Good timing, good timing." -- DR: "Things change. I mean, nobody knew Emily and Stephen's chemistry would be off the charts. Right? No one knew that." -- DR: "They do have an outset. They do have a game plan. And then things happen. The audience has a lot to do with that. The audience really reacted to the Diggle character, and then he became part of the actual comic book. That's directly because of what you guys did. (Audience applauds) You guys really responded to that character, and, um, they listened." -- DR: "I think they have a plan... It's a loose plan, and there's a lot that influences that plan, um, the least of which is the audience input - and clearly, what DC has to say about things." -- On inspiring a comics character, DR thought it was "cool" that 10 years from now, someone could be playing the Diggle character, and it's like "wow, man, I started that... I mean, someone's playing me playing me." -- DR: "No one saw this coming, dude... I mean, Arrow spins off into Flash, spins off into Legends. I don't think it's any small thing that Marvel came right off - that SHIELD came right off the heels of that. And Gotham came from that. They're talking about a Teen Titans thing. Talking. They're gonna print that everywhere now, that I've said that. Talking." -- On Laurel's death, DR: "I did not think it would be Black Canary, particularly because Black Canary has so much back story, right? And I know the producers have gone on record to say she won't be coming back. And I know Stephen's also said that. But - and obviously, I can't argue that because these guys are much smarter than I am and they know where the story's going - it's just that if the past is any reflection on what could happen, it's like all this stuff - there's no absolutes, right? Like, who knew Canary would die? Who knew Emily and Stephen? Like, who knew this stuff could happen? And now, like, with The Flash, Earth 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - I mean, how many Earths are there? ... I don't believe anyone's ever dead. That's just what I believe. You just never know where the story's going." -- DR said that it would be "awesome" if Supergirl went over to The CW and all four shows ended up shooting in Vancouver. He said the Flash set is literally a driveway over. He said they're all a family. He compared shooting The Flash to shooting Arrow. DR: "When we do the crossovers, you go over to Flash - they're all happy. You know what I mean? Literally, the set is brighter. Like, Grant is like, 'yay! whassup?' Like, he's all happy, and everyone's joking and break-dancing (but no, they're not break-dancing).... But they're all happy, and the lights are all different. Then you go over to Arrow... (pauses) - I mean, we have fun, but the set is literally dark, and we're shooting at night. I swear, the Flash actors, they shoot 8, 9, 10, 11 hours. We shoot 14, 16 hours. Like, it's just crazy, man. The difference between the shows - they do a great job of just making it look different." -- DR: "The chemistry really between me, Stephen and Emily is genuine. That's a genuine chemistry, man. ... That's no small reason why that really appears on television. Why you've really connected to those three. Because it's genuine. So yeah, we're close." -- On whether he's jealous that Diggle doesn't have a cool uniform, DR: "Not really jealous, no. ... We talked long and hard about what Diggle could wear tactically in this universe - oh by the way, we'll have a new helmet coming next season. It'll be a Cisco creation... That'll be a storypoint next season. ... Whatever Diggle wears has to be tactical and kinda urban. So we decided on this kinda camouflage, some guns, leather, there's kevlar - so I'm not really upset about that. I'm not upset about the helmet either... You know, there was some Magneto-esque things happening. You know what's funny too? I didn't see it at first."

(AmellDailytweet, page 1017 of Spoiler Discussion thread) -- TAmandes: "I will say you will not be disappointed to see the family dynamic between Felicity and her two lovely parents... There’s some fun stuff if you can imagine. It’s such a loaded familiar situation that I would imagine for the writers it’s such a treat to throw anything Charlotte’s way, but to throw in evil ex-husband what could be better.” (Zap2It article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- In 422, Donna finds out that Felicity works with Team Arrow but doesn’t find out that Oliver is the Green Arrow. CR: "I think as a mum that’s going to change things a little bit because she’s in harm’s way.” (Fanisma article, page 1046 of Spoiler Discussion thread) -- In 422, Donna shares her first scenes with ex-husband Noah. CR: “Donna has a lot of feelings that she’s been wanting to share with Noah for many years, that have been bottled up... Felicity has asked for her father’s help in dealing with a crisis in Star City — she kept it a secret from Donna because she knew how I would feel — and obviously, when Donna finds out that he’s anywhere Arrownear my daughter, a lot of suppressed emotions come spewing out. ... “Donna has said that he left when Felicity was very young, and Donna hard a hard time financially, working three jobs to put food on the table,” Ross reminds. “So while we’ve alluded to the fact that Noah was very bad, to what degree and what he did specifically will be revealed a bit this week.” (TVLine article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- CR: “There is something that Donna has kept hidden for many, many years and she decides to, finally, come clean to Felicity about it — even though she knows she may risk losing her by doing so... Being a single mother myself, many things Donna feels and the choices she has had to make really resonate with me. And because Em [Emily Bett Rickards] and I have grown so close, it just felt so deep, honest and intimate when we were shooting the scenes in this episode. [Our on- and off-screen bonds] really have become intertwined in a way that has made our work together much richer than I could’ve hoped.” (TVLine article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- CR: “Donna is thrilled that Lance decided to be up front and honest and amend his affidavit [about Laurel’s Black Canary persona even at risk of losing his badge] ... Paul and I have had many discussions about how Donna has potentially become his moral compass, as Laurel was, along with helping him deal with losing her. The question they both have now is: ‘Where do we go from here?'” (TVLine article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- CR: “Donna hasn’t seen her daughter’s father for many, many years and there are a lot of hurt feelings, unsaid issues and volatile feelings that have been suppressed for many years and when Donna finds out that Felicity has not only seen her father but is talking regularly with him to utilize his help with some major Team Arrow work issues – well, that’s a lot for Donna to swallow.” (Emertainment Monthly article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- CR: , “Tom is a lovely man and when I first met him I laughed and said ‘I apologize, in advance, if I’m really mean to you while playing Donna’ Tom is, obviously, a very wonderful experienced actor and we were both very excited to have scenes together and relished one particular scene that we have in tonight’s episode that reveals a lot of what truly happened, which led to the dissipation of our relationship, our parting from each other and my becoming a single mom.” (Emertainment Monthly article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- CR: “Having Felicity and my ex in the same room was very intense and wonderfully layered and textured and very high-stakes to play so, as an actress, that’s the kind of stuff we yearn for so, I had a blast. But, in this episode, things are revealed about Donna’s hidden past decisions that have never been revealed. They lead Donna to have to explain to her daughter why she made the choices that she made and the risk of coming clean with her daughter after all these years is one that could, potentially, lead to a very strained relationship with her daughter if they even remain to have one at all…” (Emertainment Monthly article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- CR: “I think Donna had pretty much given up on love and finding a man with true depth of character before she met Quentin so at this point anyway, she is madly in love with him and is grateful every day that he’s in her life and, at this point, they are 100 hundred percent committed to each other and wanting to make it work. Paul and I are both eager to see where this relationship will go. ... “Donna has slowly and unintentionally become a bit of his moral compass which, as we know, was a large part Laurel brought to his life. I hope Donna is helping him more in the loss of his beautiful daughter as it’s been a huge tragedy for everyone in Star City.” (Emertainment Monthly article, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- Quentin will be in 422. Glen Winter posted pic of himself with EBR and PB on the Arrowcave set in 422. (GW tweet, page 360 of Social Media thread) -- Malcolm will be in 422. Glen Winter posted pic of himself with JB in 422. It was great working with all of you today :) @StephenAmell @david_ramsey @Glen__Winter #CW." IMDB identified her role in 422 as "Daughter." (JZ tweet, page 991 of Spoiler Discusson thread) -- On May 17, Jara Zeimer tweeted that she would be in 422. (JZ tweet, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- Per EBR (at City of Heroes 2 on May 14), 422 was her favorite episode. (OlicityIBelieve tweet, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- Per EBR (at City of Heroes 2 on May 14), Felicity will struggle with change in upcoming episodes. (tanavip tweet, page 37 of Spoilers thread) -- This could be Taiana's last episode. ER started filming a new indie horror film, Residue, on Apr. 1, was still filming on Apr. 8, and wrapped up filming on Apr. 14. (ER tweets, page 18 of Arrow Actors in Other Roles thread) -- On Taiana in the remainder of S4, ER: "Well, if you've been following the show thus far, we've seen what happened to Laurel. So, that was, I think, what left people kind of like in awe and shock. So as the season is coming to an end, I think there's just going to be a reprise of that energy, um, with my character, with my relationship, you know, with Stephen as Oliver and Taiana, and then in the present world as well. So it's just - it's culminating to a nice place." (Breakfast Television-Vancouver tweet, page 36 of Spoilers thread) -- At City of Heroes 2 (on May 14), SA gave two truths and one lie for the final two episodes of S4: Oliver gets off the island, Oliver kills someone, and the final two episodes take place over several days. I think it would be interesting if S5 is Arrow: Under the Dome, with our Arrow cast and many city residents all trapped inside the dome while Star City is nuked outside the dome, but conveniently with little or no fallout spreading to other regions or cities. Then in this little enclosed world, it would be Team Arrow versus lawless criminals (including all those villains who escaped from prison). On the plus side, that could bring classic Arrow conflicts where there are no superpowers, metahumans or magic, just down and dirty street fighting - no questions about why not call Barry on speed dial (he can't get into the dome). On the negative side, they can't stay under the dome forever because you need the annual Flash crossover episode. However, I know the spoilers are indicating the team splits up.

KL tweeted some pics from Motor CIty Comic Con (the other con this weekend)... https://twitter.com/katrinalaw Video of Detroit Free Press' interview with KL at Motor City Comic Con: http://www.freep.com/videos/entertainment/2016/05/14/84389654/ -- Her new TV show, Training Day, was picked up by CBS. She's playing one of the LAPD detectives. -- She said that nowadays social media is a great help to everyone's career. She has some really cool fans. -- On her popular "fierce warrior woman" role of Nyssa on Arrow, she said that she loves being part of the trend (now with Wonder Woman). She said that female characters used to always fight for the man and what the man is fighting for, but now people are realizing that women want to fight for freedom, liberty and justice - what men traditionally fight for - as well as fighting for love, her man and family. She thought that having female superheroes like Wonder Woman and Supergirl are great role models. She also said that Arrow was also a good example of that, with strong female superheroes like Black Canary, White Canary, Speedy, Huntress and Nyssa - whether they're heroes or villains, they're strong female characters. -- She thought her dance training was helpful in learning fight choreography. -- On BvS being filmed in Detroit and who she would pick to have lunch with (Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman), KL picked Wonder Woman because they could "have tea and talk about how stupid the boys are."

Nice job, Luckylyn! I would never have put that song with Arrow, but it really works here ("how to make two lovers of friends").
