  1. I really loved the episode, it was so great to hear Kelli give explanations on why some girls we’re good or not so good. As someone who never had any dance training and has no idea what fouettes (?) or anything are, it is nice to hear things like someone’s footwork is bad, because all I see isn’t someone who can dance, I really can’t tell if someone’s technique is good or bad and it really helps me to understand why someone didn’t make it. And it was cool to see some longer introductions of the girls... although some were a little too long for me i am so happy the show is finally on again, I was really looking forward to a training camp summer and so far pretty much everything has been really quiet since auditions, so yay for that.
  2. I have no idea why Lauren isn’t posing for the calendar, but even of she’s just doesn’t want to do it, that’s fine. Personally, I would probably also chose not to be featured... having a real professional job I’d probably feel kind of weird knowing everyone I have professional contact with could see those pictures. I know the uniform is also tiny, but for some reason that feels different, maybe because it’s called a uniform, I don’t know. Everyone is different when it comes to stuff like that.
  3. I think DCC training camp may also be a reason less people audition every year. Don’t get me wrong, I kind of love that they do that, because the DCC end up being great and looking at other squads dance, they look like hot messes compared to the synchronized DCC. But you do kind of give up your whole summer for training camp, practice five nights a week, seminars, mentoring sessions plus all the time you put in to work out, tone up, practice technique, practice the routines, you don’t get a vacation. It’s probably an amazing time just as much as it’s grueling. And you never know when it will end. You can spend your entire summer at camp and still not make the team. I can’t imagine going through training camp two summers in a row, let alone three times. Other teams have much shorter training camps or have it after selecting the team, at least then you know it won’t be worth nothing in the end. The show and social media have probably changed the way hopefuls view the process of becoming a DCC and compared to some other teams becoming a DCC looks like a huge time commitment (as well as costing a lot of money and nerves). My guess is that it’s a combination of all three things. Plus i think some other teams are catching up to the DCC in terms of being attractive to audition for. The Dolphins cheerleaders went to London last year and did a cruise this year. That’s pretty exciting.
  4. I’m sure both Dayton and Victoria will work hard in training camp. Dayton seems like someone who will always work hard to achieve her goal and if there’s one thing we can probably all agree on it’s that’s Victoria definetly prepared for her audition and took a lot of classes. Kelli will probably gladly put a uniform on both of them, but I don’t for one second believe that she would let anyone on that field who couldn’t handle it. At the end of the day that’s her job and in my opinion she’s always done a pretty good job of selecting the team. I know there have always been girls where people wondered how they made it, but there has never been anyone who was so bad that they never got to dance on the field. And if they decide to give someone a chance (Morgan, Breelan etc.) that’s just for a year, after that, at next years auditions, they have to prove their worth again. Being a legacy might help you get into training camp, but it doesn’t save you from having to be just as good as everyone else once you’re there. There’s probably only a handful of girls who make it to training camp and it’s all easy for them, most girls struggle with something or other. Just because they both made it to camp it doesn’t mean they automatically make the team, so I’m willing to give both a chance and see how they do. (That’s me being grown up, jumping over my shadow and giving Victoria a fair chance of winning me over, I’m proud of myself lol)
  5. I get the whole audition process and I know it’s necessary, but it does seem kind of wrong at times to cut a vet who had a good year, but for whatever reason not a good audition. Everyone has a bad day and it’s kind of sad one day can cancel out a good season. If it’s a weight related cut, that’s more understandable than lacking power or something for me. Im not a fan of Victoria and never have been, she’s has been annoying me for years and I can’t imagine how annoying she might become for me now that she’s is in training camp or if she makes the team (just my opinion from her social media, she’s could be lovely in person), but I am excited to see how she does in training camp. She has always wanted to be a DCC and has definetly put in a lot of work these past years - not saying anyone else didn’t - and I can’t imagine her audition wasn’t at least good, so I guess I can see why she would get a chance at training camp. I’ll probably never really love her, but if she’s great during camp, she should get the uniform. I really hope Brennan makes it this year. She’s got the talent and if she can keep her nerves in check there is no reason why she shouldn’t. But so far this seems like a really competitive good rookie class and I hope that doesn’t psych her out. Im bummed about Keyra. I’m also sad for Selina, but sadly I guess that won’t last long, I always forgot she was even on the squad (even though I was always rooting for her) so I’ll probably forget all about her in a day or two. Overall I’m really excited about thins years training camp, it could end up being really great!
  6. Im so happy for Dayton! I think she’s someone who will work really hard during training camp to achive her dream.
  7. Sounds like like Gaebri did make it to finals.
  8. I think Christi is pretty and cute and see nothing wrong with her look.. every year I wonder why everyone thinks she does not have an hd face and why she doesn’t get very far lol. Just goes to show how different opinions can be. Although I don’t think that fringe is doing her any favors.
  9. I like Savannah a lot and I’m really happy she got ROTY. She’s seems really sweet and well liked by her teammates. I think her dancing is fine, she may not be the best, but I don’t think she is bad. I haven’t seen that many videos of the girls dancing this season, but i haven’t seen any where I would have said she isn’t good enough for the squad. I love her dedication and her work ethic and i hope she’s makes it back. A lot of girls weren’t that great their first year and then turned into rock stars. Maybe she will as well. I also love Tara’s look. To me she is stunning and glam and i don’t think she’s needs to change anything. I think she’s probably will get a little more glamorous still if she’s stays on the squad though. Most of them seem to ‘grow in to their look’. Even someone like Lacey, who was always pretty. Now Lacey is one of the most stunning girls lookwise. Christina is one i really don’t care about. Whether she’s makes it back or not doesn’t really make a difference to me.. I found her annoying a lot of the time, especially her last time in training camp, now I’m just blah about her.
  10. Milan has been traveling all around Europe for the last three months and will be home all summer according to comments on instagram. If that’s studying abroad nowadays I definetly have to go back to college! Anyway, even if studying abroad was not her reason for quitting and she just got the chance to travel a lot I don’t blame her. Most people couldn’t afford that and it’s probably something you only do once in your life so go for it. Sometimes I feel like we spend way too much time over-analyzing every little thing in these girls lives... Even if you sign a contract for a year you can always talk to your employer and ask to be let go from the contract. It doesn’t always have to be negative in some way. I think it’s sad that a lot of girls don’t go for 5 years anymore, but I can understand it. Especially nowadays with social media everywhere. You always have to look your best and uphold your image, a lot of ‘mistakes’ you make will be out there for everyone to see. It’s not as much just about the dancing anymore as it might have been a couple of years ago and I don’t think you really know what you’re getting into before you actually get there. You can probably get an idea, but that’s it. Personally I also find it difficult enough to plan my life (vacations, trips, time with friends and everything) around my normal work life sometimes and if I also had to work around football season and DCC schedule I probably wouldn’t even know how to do it. For some girls it seems easy, but I’m sure there are plenty of girls who just don’t want to do it for a long time. My point is, while a lot of Drama has been going on behind the scenes apparently, I think there are plenty of other reasons for the big groups of girls retiring. I’m not saying nothing bad happens behind the scenes, I’m sure it does - no job is all fun and happiness - and it’s fun to speculate, sometimes i feel like we’re going way overboard. Anyway, can’t wait for auditions!
  11. She has tried out for most teams. I’ve been following her on instagram for a couple of years and she is really sweet and humble. She took some time off from auditioning to finish school I think and is auditioning again this year. I hope she does make a team this year! I’d say she is a good dancer, maybe not spectacular, but some pro experience might help her.
  12. You’re right.. I kept feeling like she did audition, but looking at the pictures again I don’t see her.
  13. That’s true. I work for an a company where all the employees usually feel totally replaceable and that is kind of sad. But it’s also the other way around - the company is replaceable as well. I do think everyone has further aspirations, the girls on the squad are all good to great dancers, so it would feel unnatural if they didn’t. All I really ment wasn’t that in such a large squad and with so many girls auditioning every year, they have a lot of talent to chose from. Jenna is great now at dancing, but so are others (or they’ll get there). A lot of DCCs take a little time getting to that wow factor. So while I do think she adds a lot to the squad dancewise, I think she could definetly be replaced and nobody on the squad (or in any job) should feel like they are untouchable. Sort of the the same as why vets have to reaudition each year anyway I guess.. who came up to Jenna when she came out from her meeting? I don’t really remember, but it feels like it wasn’t mostly rookies?
  14. I woke up this morning after having watched the episode last night and thought: man, all Jenna really cares about is being point? I do feel kind of sorry for her, but today I actually loved kelli calling her out for her selfishness. If you say you love the team, love your teammates and it’s practically your whole life, be grateful you are on the team at all. Even if you have to dance somewhere in the back. But after this episode it’s pretty obvious she came back, because she knew she could be point and have all the glory.
  15. I’m not sure why, but I am starting to feel a little sorry for Jenna. I liked her when she first made it, started loving her after a while and the she started really getting on my nerves, so it’s been quite a journey. She needed to be reminded of where she is and who she is, that’s for sure. But I do get where she was coming from when she sent that text. Her whole DCC world came crushing down on her (yes, it’s her own fault, no excuses) and that’s hard for anyone. She has no idea where she stands now. Was it the mature way to handles it? No. But I think everyone sometimes acts in ways they later realize were not that smart. She was hurt and probably a little confused, so I do get it. Still, I don’t feel like her punishment (taking point away) is wrong. Everyone needs to remember how replaceable they are every once in a while. Also, Kelli and Judy probably wanted to know exactly what went down while they were away, telling them about Jenna’s text is not exactly like ratting her out, of course she was (and probably will be for a while) being monitored. Okay, enough about Jenna. Overall I loved the episode! I do not watch football and definitly have zero knowledge about it, but canton kind of made me want to start watching it. That must have been a really special time! Loved the focus on the vets! More please! The photographer was a really good idea, i don’t know if that was just this once, but the should always do that. They have media training and all that and this seems just as good a training.
  16. I think Kitty is definitely right for the job when it comes to knowledge and experience! She knows what it takes and she has a great eye for what a girl is lacking. The only thing I, personally, can’t warm up to is that i sometimes feel like she is ‘mean’. I do realize a lot of dance teachers are that way and also that everyone has a different definition of ‘mean’, but I feel like some things could be said differently to the girls. She comes across as overly harsh sometimes. Other than that I really like it when she gets asked for her opinion by Kelli and Judy, because she is a fresh pair of eyes and she knows what she is doing, she also knows a lot of the girls from prep classes and stuff like that, so it’s not always just judging them from one night. Maybe it’s because I had a teacher like her in school and he made me feel really insecure, like I could never be good enough. A couple of years later I spoke to him about it and feel a little different now, because I now know he was pushing me to constantly better myself, but at the time I felt really bad. I still like Kitty though, because I really do think she knows exactly what she is doing. For young girls who grew up really protected, she probably seems really scary. (But I believe she does have a different, very caring side as well!)
  17. I loved this episode! So much focus on the vets was nice for a change, even seeing them be corrected a lot. It made them seem more like normal dancers, less perfect. the blocking was fun, in general getting that kind of 'insider' stuff is really cool and exactly what we are always interested in. i feel so sad for Brennan. Last year, I didn't care much for her, but she really has grown on me. I like her determination and I really was rooting for her this year. I wouldn't have minded her look on the team. Everyone likes something different and why should they all be the same type of pretty.. there was one scene where the vets were practicing the kick line and that's pretty much the only time this season that I noticed Jessika.. and only because she looked out of shape.
  18. If i really really wanted to be a DCC, I'd ask anyone for help. I'm sure Gina is good at picking up choreography, so she probably can be helpful to a lot of other TCCs, but them asking her for help says nothing about Gina being a good team player. A better response would have been 'we are constantly practicing together' or something like that.
  19. Maybe they do treat show group audition like a real audition. Meaning everyone auditions and the best from that audition actually get picked. It may just come down to having a good day or a bad day. Maybe Tasha had a great show group audition and maybe Keyra didnt. We don't know enough about the decision process to call anyone out on the decisions they made. They have a lot of different judges for show group, some like Kitty are around a lot and know the girls, others like Neil or Anthony only see show group audition. They can only go by what they see that day. And yes, I do believe K+J have the final word on who makes show group, but I also believe they take the other judges opinions into consideration. If everyone loved Tasha's audition that day it may make them look at her differently and it may make them decide to give her a shot. (I'm only using Tasha as an example since she seems to be the most controversial pick). Anyway... just a thought. In the end i have absolutely no idea how show group members are picked. I just don't want to 'accuse' people of being anywhere near racist without thinking of other possibilities.
  20. I should probably be super embarrassed about this, but who cares - I'm 26 and still can't really cook lol. I do live on my own and I do eat of course, but I never really learned how to cook and so I really don't like like cooking. Of course, following a recipe is not that difficult and at least for easy meals everyone can do it. I was lucky that my mom alwasys cooked for us (she's a great cook!) growing up and she did try to get us to cook for ourselves sometimes, but a lot of the time we were super busy with school stuff, friends or other activities, so we never really did. I don't think it's weird that Brianna never cooked before, most people I know don't before they move out of their parents house. Gina, Gina, Gina.. every week she gets less appealing for me. I feel like those weird facial things she is doing are to look or seem humble, but she doesn't actually come across as humble. To me, she might as well stop doing those facials and just be herself, I really hope DCC can bring her back down from her I'm-the-best-there-is-cloud to the ground She is a great dancer and she should be proud of her accomplishments - but come on. Really? You are so much better that people currently on the squad like Holly or Erica? Or someone like Melissa? I don't think so. Having won competition doesn't necessarily make you that much better than anyone else. Not every good or great dancer always wants to compete. Her interview did her no favors this week. I feel bad for Selina, but I love getting to see more of her. I think the last time she was called into the office they said something like try to lose the weight before school starts again, which made me believe that her weight struggles last year were probably at least a little due to her work schedule. It must be difficult to make a healthy lifestyle and exercise a priority if you are a full time teacher and a DCC. She probably just doesnt have a naturally tiny body and really has to watch what she's eats. I hope she can lose the weight fast enough. I loved Milans moment. I literally didn't know anything about her before and to me she always seemed like a little girl, wanting to be pretty and famous and all that, but now I'm really impressed by her. Being that dedicated to school that she didn't want to be considered for show group was not something I was expecting from her. I'm definitely more interested in her now.
  21. Probably my favorite theory up until now! Erica seems to have had the injury pretty early in TC already and that would definitely explain it.
  22. I felt like there was way too much packed into this episode so everything was like a five minute segment. Everything felt rushed. Rachel does look kind of thick when she is surrounded by others, but she's not jiggly, hopefully she can fix that soon. Gina is getting more on my nerves every week and she was my favorite before the show started... Christina doesn't wow me with her dancing (in the small clips we see anyway) and I don't find her any less boring than Celinda. Brennan is growing on me which I would never have believed! I didn't care for her last year, but this year I would like her to succeed. I'm a little sad for Madeline, she just needs more time and training though. And I'm not gonna waste any energy on Brianna this week.
  23. As far as I remember se worked in some dental practice, she had the information on her Facebook when training camp started, now it just says 'works for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders'. That definitely seems to be her top priority.
  24. Obviously I know Erica is not on the squad anymore, but I do think it is true that a lot of people don't know this while watching the show. I had to watch the episode on the internet a day later and probably wasn't paying that much attention (I was tired..), but I wouldn't have noticed that Erica wasn't made a group leader if it weren't for this board or my super weird obsession with this team. If you don't KNOW Kashara was Ericas second leader that scene is totally fine. And I'm guessing a lot of people really didn't know. I watch a ton of shows and don't really know or care about any behind the scenes stuff and that's probably true for a lot of people. Maybe after watching the episode some people look on the internet and realize that Erica was supposed to be group leader, but most viewers aren't as invested as we are... that being said, yes, it is weird that they totally changed that scene. and I am super nosey and want to know the whole truth about Jenna, Holly and Erica and it is really going to bug me for a while that we probably will never know the whole truth, but there's nothing we can really do about that unless someone spills the beans and I'm guessing that's not going to happen. The speculating is super fun though! Didnt Shelly say that all the theories she had read so far are wrong?
  25. I have a couple of friends who didn't go to college right after school, but then started thinking about it a few years later. Most of the ones who did decide to go to college later then dropped out again because they thought they preferred earning money to spending a couple of years as students. It is totally okay that college isn't for everyone! Some people just need more time to figure out what they want to do. As long as you are happy with the choices you make that's fine. And Kalyssa seems to have a very supportive family who stand behind her and her decisions
