No, we didn’t. And if Perry actually considers his son’s teacher a suspect , I’m surprised he doesn’t widen his scope to include Pete. But even then: why would Pete know the combination to Perry’s safe? Surely Pete or even Holcomb can’t pick a combination safe. Can someone explain to me what the hophead has to do with this?

Since Missy was in Baton Rouge, and probably less than an hour since her parents talked to the Medford police… how the heck did a Louisiana cop find them so fast? It’s not like she pulled them over for something else.

My very first question about this episode was, what the hell kind of car is Anita driving?? OK this is almost the answer, except this car came out in 1934: https://silodrome.com/auburn-851-supercharged-boattail-speedster/

I know it’s the Depression, but $0.25 is equivalent to $5 today. Doesn’t seem realistic.
-
I don’t think they’re the same person. The woman early in episode 1 is the waitress we see later on the gambling boat—as opposed to Noreen Lawson. Oddly though the waitress is no longer listed on imdb, but she was two weeks ago.

Anybody else think, “Geez, really?” when Perry decided to take his son to see King Kong instead of finishing his homework? Especially after his son thought he’d better do his homework before playing with the new toy.

Yep, the whole time they were playing that button game I was thinking, “Maybe you shouldn’t be squatting with your backs quite so close to those bars.” Also… I’m wondering if the shooter got rid of the gun by selling it to the gun renter. Although it’s odd that he apparently rented a gun to the Gallardos.

Plus (in the lounge with Bella, after Perry left) his admiration for the male bartender, thinking he might want to switch his bourbon order to a “dirty martini.” Ah, that makes sense. Although in that case, he should’ve been measuring the height of their trigger finger, not sighting along a measuring tape. IIRC he wasn’t even angling the tape down, as if to a seated victim.
-
Anyone figured out the point of having both defendants sight along a measuring tape? And Gretchen Mol was in the final credits? How did I miss her? ETA: Ah she played Linda, Perry’s ex.

Wow, Ellie’s mom played Ellie in the game. They look so much alike! And a real baby on that apparently yucky floor!
-
Wasn’t the whole point of her getting to a hospital to extract her antibodies or whatever? Didn’t Joel or Ellie realize there was a possibility that she would have to be sacrificed?
-
Plus it might not have been loaded.
-
Poor Missy. What the heck was the vanity card about?
-
Anyone else think that Ellie smearing blood on Sam’s wound might have helped him a little? His infection didn’t seem as advanced as it should’ve been after several hours.
-
I though Joel was carrying 2 or 3 bags. I meant Ellie’s bag. The posse left it on the ground when David carried her away. That makes at least two, counting the one the Kansas City folk took.
-
Also, did we lose a backpack… again?
-
I wondered too. It’s after the credits, and after the next episode preview.

Seemed like more than a week’s worth of um, long pig in the smokehouse. Especially if they were rationing.

Clearly. I was thinking he had enough time to pull that curtain down and stomp it out. Or even try a 20-year-old fire extinguisher on it. In an apocalyptic world, fire is one of the biggest enemies. Yes per this article https://twinfinite.net/2023/03/who-did-joel-kill-in-hbos-the-last-of-us-answered/

1. Still, they could’ve had a throwaway line, explaining why she tired of sleeping with naked hot guy in a tent. 2. Why would Jimmy have only one bullet in his gun? 3. Too bad ‘Jane Doe’ couldn’t find a way to claim the reward. But I guess the cop that found the ankle monitor is the one who found Chloe—even though Charlie figured it out first. 4. How the hell did Charlie survive a knife wound to the chest, especially when she wasn’t found for an hour or two? Overall, one of my favorite episodes so far. Pacing really kept my interest, and great performance by Natasha.

And if it’s like previous seasons, we have 6 or 7 more episodes to go in this one.

Where WAS George Sr? Seems like either he or Mary should’ve been on standby. Although with Georgie buying the car seat, maybe they thought it would be a few more days?

Also, have we learned nothing from teen slasher movies? Every single time teenagers get frisky, a monster comes out of nowhere to attack them. Sexystuff are bad for you!!
