  1. 1. Yep! Effing risky. 2. Plenty more non-sheriff human monsters in town! 3. Yes, the flares were definitely a Checkov’s gun on the Woody checklist.
  2. Oh, right. And even after that, they still had possible human monsters to contend with until sunrise.
  3. So we’re to assume that Woody got trashed by crashing through the front door. 1. Question is, how did Leti know to squish the sheriff? He hadn’t turned when she left, right? If she was coming back to scare off monsters and rescue them, seems like all she needed to do was shine the lights through the front windows. Then everybody jumps into Woody, and they drive off. 2. How did they survive the night in the shack? Those headlights wouldn’t have stayed on more than a few hours.
  4. Drowning has to be a pretty painful way to die, since it’s slower than most forms of execution. IRL more like 5 to 10 minutes, not the one minute of screen time we saw (at least if everything I read on the Internet is true). He had time to realize that with four men holding him under, he had no chance of escape. Plus I recall reading that your lungs are burning. It probably wasn’t too hard to get the brothel ‘security guys’ to do it, since he had killed one of their valuable milkmaids, and a fellow Asian.
  5. I too was waiting for resolution on that. Looked to be a classic Hitchcock MacGuffin. I also read it as ‘scattering Charlie‘s ashes at sea’, in a small way.
  6. Well that, plus they had her “confession”. In any event, that and the adultery was enough for nine jurors to vote for her to be hanged.
  7. I thought he just didn’t like Perry’s guff, and felt like he wanted some respect. I didn’t think it was totally “I’m too ethical to bribe somebody”.
  8. Me neither! Oddly enough, the woman on the slab was not well-endowed, even allowing for her being on her back.
  9. Maybe we should have a thread for the thread? (Thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week. Tip your waitresses)
  10. Why did Perry get beat up at the brothel anyway? The woman was crying, but they’ve probably had crying women in there before. She had her money, was unhurt, and even still had her top on. Seemed a bit extreme to have three guys jump on him (and then what looked like two more). And then maim or murder him with a heavy chain?
  11. I gotta admit, that was pretty dang astute of Perry to ask for a lactating prostitute. “Magically quieting the baby” doesn’t necessarily mean breast-feeding. Unless maybe it dawned on him as he was looking at the pictures.
  12. Religion was not the opiate of the masses tonight. Also, (spoiler) Alice is not a natural blonde.
  13. She just has a very liberal interpretation of “stolen kisses“ 😆
  14. I don’t believe I said that Ennis did so—but rather that he somehow found out about it. Right—I had a memory of Emily being baffled as to why the kidnappers would ask them (of all people) for so much money. I’d have to go back to see when Emily was shown to know about Baggerly.
  15. I wonder how George found out that Dodson was Baggerly’s son? Dodson didn’t tell Emily on the ride down, so she might not have known. Didn’t she initially tell the detectives something like “we don’t have that kind of money“? I also wonder if George had feelings for Emily. Even if Charlie hadn’t died, it’s traumatic for a mother to endure a kidnapping. And who did the horrific eye-stitching?
  16. Until this episode, when Ennis revealed to his partner that there were TPTB, I thought he was just a crooked cop who wanted the ransom money for himself. Although how he found out about George & co. was unclear. The actor is playing Ennis so well that I really want to punch him out for being such a slimeball. Glad to discover that Perry actually owns and can use a razor! 😆
  17. So George wasn’t behind the kidnapping? I thought he was getting the ransom money to cover his skimming from the church. Not many people could know that Dodson had access to money.
  18. Yes. Yes it was.
  19. Funny that the golfers freaked out so much more than the caddy kid.
  20. Yeah, WTF Perry, what’s the point of tipping your hand? As for E.B, not 100% sure. I just checked Lithgow’s IMDb listing for the series.
  21. Well that was surprising. Hope he’ll be back. Interesting how faith plays a dual role. E.B’s faith, and Sister Alice’s faith.
  22. We just started binging this. How did Del know about Wendy’s lover, and where he lived? Did they just follow Wendy from the bank? Or from her house, as insurance? She seemed remarkably composed for someone who just had their lover killed and tossed over the balcony.
  23. Early on, wasn’t Dylan upset because his friend didn’t want to play kids’ games anymore? Now all of a sudden he has the mind of an 18-year-old?
  24. Good point. Although it seemed to me he did intend to give her the car free and clear. But there’s still the problem of how she sold the car. Unless Larry was actually the type to keep the title in the glove box. Who knows. (OK, yeah, I’m trying to inject too much reality into a goofy show)
  25. I wondered about that too, so I looked it up. Turns out he was actually in pain during the whole season’s filming. Recovering from back surgery IIRC.
