I have not been watching this show but I tuned in just to see Katey Sagal. I had no idea she had joined the show. I had heard no buzz about this. She seems to be a good addition. She has played this part on so many shows. I think a lot of the other acting and writing is stilted, unfortunately. There are too many characters in the family now so they get very little to do besides a setup/punchline.

Katey has been on the show since season 1

Harris's date walking down the aisle was weird. What happened to all of Dan's buddies? They should be groomsmen. Doesn't Louise have any friends? Oh well, I'll just chalk it up to the weather.

I thought all the women looked good in their bridesmaid dress. Just goes to show what a proper cut and fit will do

    Spoiler

According to what I just read in an interview with the writers Dan's friends weren't available so that's why they weren't there for the wedding

as for Louise's friends who knows probably the weather stalled them not to mention a lot of Louise's family as well (except for Neville of course)

  3. I loved the episode!! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Conner!! I was a bit worried there for a minute when Louise started to freak out, but I knew she'd show up! It was so sweet Dan helped her. Jackie thank goodness didn't ruin their wedding and actually helped them out when the minster went into the shelter so I was so happy about that!! I liked that Becky and Mikey were there together and that he helped her out when she was panicking from drinking the alcohol. Harris and her boyfriend I don't know about them. Ben & Darlene that was wrong time to bring up everything! We now know Louise's middle name yay!! Aww I loved we got to see their first dance as husband and wife!! I'm just soo happy for them!! ❤

Jackie is not ok with this wedding.

I don't know about that. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt for now especially because her & Louise are getting along at least for the most part and I like that it's great especially for the fact of how she treated Louise in the beginning which I hated. I just hope she doesn't ruin Dan & Louise's wedding day I'm more concerned about her than anyone else ruining it.

I do like Mike. Who is the actor playing him?

If Louise didn't like Darlene's idea she should just say so instead of lying.

Maybe she didn't want Darlene to get the wrong idea because she knows Darlene has been having a rough time and Darlene did come down hard on Louise which wasn't fair either because it wasn't her wedding besides Louise did apologize and explained her reasoning which I don't blame her.

The actor who plays Mike is Darien Sills-Evans

  7. I loved this episode!!

I liked Becky & Mike and hope that's explored more later on they make a nice couple, but I have to admit I was surprised she slept with him so fast.

I hated how Darlene came down so hard on Louise like that, but I figured she was upset about her & Ben still so I guess I can forgive her and I'm so glad her & Louise worked it out and hopefully they can get close. Liked how Harris and Mark helped Louise out with her dress shopping that was cute!

I liked both dresses Louise picked, but definitely the second one was gorgeous and I'm assuming that's the one she picked.

Next week is the big day so I can't wait!!

True. But Dan isn't a real person and Roseanne isn't dead. The show runners missed a great chance to have a year or two of goofy dates before finding Louise.

Personally it doesn't matter if the people are fictional or not and maybe the writers didn't want to go that route with the Dan maybe they felt it would be better and much easier to have him just be with Louise because he knows her and has known her for years and with new person it'd probably would have been more difficult for Dan to get to know the person or a few dates if they went that way and I don't see anything wrong with him dating Louise and marrying her, not only that she's wanted him for over 40 years, but that's just my opinion.

ELS was quite outspoken about wanting Benton to have a successful relationship with a woman of color and most of us watching the show at the time knew exactly why Peter and Lizzie were not end game.  In the meantime, Anthony Edwards, coming off the awful Amanda Lee storyline, expressed hopes that Mark would get a front burner relationship with a strong woman.  By the end of the season, Mark and Lizzie were an item.

From an interview with LaSalle in 1999:

"As an African-American man, it becomes a bit offensive if the negative things are all you're showing,' he told Hello! magazine. 'Because in real life we romance and get on each other's nerves and laugh and do all the things that any other race of people do. So if the only time you show a balanced relationship is in an interracial relationship, whether it's conscious or sub-conscious, it sends a message I'm not comfortable with.' The temptation to brand LaSalle a hypersensitive killjoy, who has lost the plot, the sub-plot and the denouement, should be resisted. True, it is individuals, not races who get into relationships; true also that love is difficult enough to find without setting racial prerequisites about who should be getting together with whom. But while love may be blind, the rest of the world certainly isn't."

These remarks were made in spring 1999, right after the breakup of Benton and Corday happened on the show and Alex Kingston also gave interviews corroborating the story.

Yes I’ve read that article I was referring to others in the fandom, but thanks for posting it here though.

The writers didn't break them up. It's known that he didn't want to have an interracial relationship. If a white character pulled that crap they wouldn't ever be allowed to act again. I thought it was a very strong relationship. They had on air chemistry. Truth be told he was a tool on and off the screen. She was pissed and rightfully so.

I realize that it wasn't the writers who broke them up and that it was ELS, but I still didn't like it. I just said the writers because most would say that if they didn't realize the actual actresses/actors wanted the couple to break up and in this case it was ELS which a lot of people didn't know it was him that wanted to stop the relationship until years later. Just saying.
