  1. Same. I think there will be a BC trend tomorrow during the show, and I think she'll probably have a fairly good reception. I think there are a lot of people who will watch and be glad to see her kicking ass/being a badass/whatever she does, and they won't really question how she got there. I mean, there will definitely be people who don't like it/her, but I would be surprised if there's an overwhelmingly negative response to her or if it changes anything at all regarding her character. Most of the articles will probably be in the vein of "Finally!" instead of pointing out the fact that her trajectory thus far doesn't make sense. But she's BC now because comics! so...whatever.
  2. Maybe it won't really play out like that on the show? These guys sometimes have weird interpretations of stuff considering how it actually goes over on screen.
  3. I'm not outraged by it or anything, but I honestly (naively) thought the am I my sister? thing wouldn't be, you know, literal.
  4. I'm so glad he's getting to do this, I love it when people are excited about fun stuff they've always wanted to do. That being said, I find him talking about being on Kimmel being a life-long dream and how there's something to be said for putting thoughts out into the universe (wrt being on Kimmel) almost endearingly secondhand embarrassing, haha. Bless him, he entertains me.
  5. I'm watching The Flash, and they just played an Arrow promo - when Laurel says, "I'm the justice you can't run from," is she using a bo staff? Because, to quote myself from up thread...no.
  6. From the EW interview just posted in SPOILERS ONLY. I mean, l'll wait to see how it plays out, but...no.
  7. The only problem with that is that before Oliver knew Slade had Felicity (and that his plan was in motion) and Slade said he wanted Oliver to meet him or he was going to kill "her" (Laurel, as far as Oliver knew) and Oliver said, "you do what you have to, I'm done playing your games" doesn't exactly give off true love warm and fuzzies. And Slade has no reason to believe that the "I love you" was a ruse. For all he knew Oliver planted a syringe on his girlfriend -I mean, Slade saw him grab Felicity and tumble over the railing to protect her when he infiltrated (if we can even call it that-the place has an open door) the foundry.
  8. I always hoped the suppressed emotions discussion would come back in a happier way, like when Felicity finally tells him and/or allows herself to acknowledge how she feels about Oliver. Stupid, hopeful me! I think your scenario is more probable. Still hung up on the weird "a woman you love" wording. Why not just say "I don't want you to love me?" The only thing I can think of is she's grouping herself in with all the others, like she's not any different. It's still weird wording though.
  9. I wonder if Oliver uses that little steganography (stegosaurus!) trick he learned in Hong Kong to alert Diggle (or someone who isn't Felicity, but is probably Diggle) to let him know that he's alive and trying to get home? Maybe the method in which he's returning is really dangerous, so he doesn't want to give her hope if he doesn't wind up making it back? Maybe he needs ARGUS's help to extract him? That's the only reason I could come up with for not including Felicity since she's the big brain of that whole operation.
  10. Yeah, it's captioned like that, but she definitely says Oliver.
  11. Good thing MG said she'd be a co-lead with Diggle. You know, like a team.
  12. Yeah, I figure he'll have the final say in what goes down. I think it'll be kind of the way it was before, with Diggle taking Oliver's spot as far as making decisions goes.
  13. It was mentioned in one of the articles posted today, which is the only time I've seen it. Another mentioned Diggle as the de-facto leader. It'd make sense to me if they planned things together and discussed strategy with Diggle making the final call.
  14. What does it matter? Sometimes you don't show leadership qualities until you face a little adversity. And it makes sense that she and Diggle would bounce strategic ideas off each other. They've been at this longer than Roy or Laurel. Felicity was always part of the planning process before, why wouldn't she be now?
  15. Yeah, it'd be nice for them to address it, but seriously, with all the issues I have with her character, how she manages to squeeze sleep into her work/training schedule is like...way at the bottom of the list, haha.
  16. It's not bad that you're not buying her disillusionment with the law. It was only mentioned once as a plot device, and then she went back at it, never to be mentioned again. And I don't know how she'd make that work. But I tend not to think too much about that because I also don't know how Felicity and Diggle function on how little sleep they must get. It's one of those things I'm willing to overlook, but it would be nice if they address it with Laurel. Not holding my breath though. Hopefully they do address the fingerless gloves, because that's just some dumbass BS.
  17. No, Laurel's already disillusioned with the law, remember? In Corto Maltese she suddenly realized that domestic abuse victims slip through the cracks in the justice system (even though she had to have helped tens/hundreds of them at CNRI, but whateves). And yeah, that scene at the elevator. Chances that Ray's in the elevator when the doors open up or he magically pops up behind? Smoak detector!!!!
  18. Nope, I realized I probably wasn't being very clear! :)
  19. MG said in that interview that they were friendly, not friends, and that it is awkward between them. And the way he phrased the answer makes it seem like they still might not be friends. It wouldn't prevent him from fighting crime. I wasn't tying the two together like that. I thought that IF Felicity were to say it to Ray, that it could be in the context of some kind of conversation about getting involved romantically or growing feelings or whatever, after she's decided to help him. Because I'm 99.9% sure she's going to help him with his crusade. And a way to distance herself from getting hurt with Ray like she got hurt with Oliver would be to tell him that she didn't want to be a woman he loves or someone who loves him. It's kind of an odd sentence in any context really, that's why I was just floating possibilities, which is all this is.
  20. Him putting the suit on doesn't have anything to do with it. The article mentioned Felicity wanting to fix a mistake that she thought Oliver made by going out and fighting Ra's and I thought an extension of that might be her telling Ray that she doesn't want to be a woman that he loves (It might be a mistake that she thought SHE made in getting involved in the vigilante business - falling for the vigilante). Not that I think she regrets loving Oliver, just that it might be a way to steel herself against future heartbreak, because I think it's pretty likely that she's going to help Ray in his superheroing. I don't think it's likely that she says it to Ray, I just think it's a possibility.
  21. Yeah, I can see them being friendly. Friends? I don't know. Maybe at some point down the line. And I can't imagine any scenario in which Felicity wonders if something is okay to say to Laurel. Does MG mean personally? Like about her relationship with Oliver or pointing out that she didn't know him all that well? Or does he mean with regards to vigilante business, because Felicity's been at it way longer? We had discussed that "I don't see that changing" quote from SA with regards to Felicity being the only woman in his life. Here's the extended quote from his Collider interview:
  22. The spoiler was that they'd share scenes together, not that they'd be friends. And it wasn't necessarily scrapped, just pushed back. Same. I said it before when the spoilers came out that she'd be in the foundry more. I'd rather they be friendly than not, and if it's in some kind of awkward getting-to-know-you kind of thing, I'm okay with it. Like it or not, they're going to be working together sometimes, so they might as well be on good terms. If not, it would be assumed that the awkwardness was due to some unresolved Oliver feels, and I really, really do not want that. It is a really awkward piece of dialogue. Seems so...I don't know, because of the "a woman." Maybe it is Felicity to Oliver, pointing out that in the time she's known him he's been with quite a few woman and while he's claiming to love her, she's the only one he won't make an effort to be with? I don't know. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
