  1. When the show first introduced the characters and they made a point of saying that Tom (and Jamie) had been out of prison for 20 years and Jamie mentioned specifically that Tom got news of wife's death while in prison -- I thought -- but that girl Malva looks to be about 16 - 18 years old. So who is her mother? Hm? I figure Tom beats her cuz she isn't his daughter.
  2. I like getting to see Fergus and Marsali's life -- all their issues and such. Because mostly they are used as filler and to prop up Claire and Jamie. I am OK with the Fergus drinks too much storyline - cuz dude! Life has been a shit hole for that poor child and I am wondering how he kept himself sober for all those years! It all seems pretty realistic to me. Has that poor Malva girl done something that makes people hate her? or are they getting references from the book? because the show hasn't shown her being anything out of the usual except that her father beats her on the regular. Claire mentioned something about her only being 18 years old and Jamie and Tom have been out of prison for 20 years. and Tom heard of his wife's death while in prison. So is Malva not Tom's daughter? or was her mother NOT the mother of her brother (can't remember his name)
  3. Seeing little Ellis - she is about 6-7yrs old? maybe? so that means Derek has been dead at least that long. Zola was just a little kid - I bet she barely remembers him and the boy and little girl do not remember him at all. All those kids know is Meredith and the situation they finds themselves daily -- lots of different babysitters (and I assume a nanny?) They don't behave (on screen) as if they are dysfunctional or whatever -- not yet anyway. In other words - they don't know any better. I feel the audience cares more (about the children) and is more offended by their "situation" than the characters are. as to Amelia-- sure last year when Mere had COVID she helped but this season? She has not once (has she? been shown with her own kid. The kid may have a father but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to see his Mother once in a while. Anyway - I obviously have NO problem with Meredith's neglect!
  4. I actually liked this ep. LOL Meredith is still my favorite. I laughed that not one of the (ghost) children mentioned their mother - or if they did -- it was like an after thought!!! Mere doesn't miss them and they are obviously so used to her being gone -- they didn't think to mention her or ask anything about her! The little actress they picked to play Ellis the child looks very much like Kate Burton - the actress who plays Mere's (and Maggie's) mother. The little boy looks more like Mere -- so they didn't make either of Derek's kids look like him at all. Oh the irony! I even liked Maggie's fevered vision of Ellis. She is an adopted child so I can understand her feelings of abandonment and the -- why did you give me away? question that would have plagued her all her life. Why did you keep Meredith and not me? Why didn't you love me? I didn't even mind the side story of Nick and his niece. Mere gets a lot of shit for never being with her kids but when was the last time Amelia was shown with Scout (<That's his name - right?) or even mention that fact that she has a kid? She - like Meredith-- seem to live perfectly well without the kids bogging them down Just saying.
  5. For Meredith? as it should be! (IMO)
  6. Think of all the people in Claire's timeline who will not be "saved" or "cured" or whatever she would have done in her own time with modern medicine. or on the other hand - the people she does save or cure in the past who would otherwise have died. That surely has to fuck up a lot of stuff. I know the show handwaves all this stuff. I know the show wants me to believe that true love is why Claire stays in the past. But sorry. None of that makes a lick of sense to me. And clearly I give the time travel consequences or lack thereof more thought than the author. why would anyone in their right mind chose to live before electricity/indoor plumbing/ modern medicine? < for love? Um no. just ..no.
  7. Haha! The children are pretty much ghosts. They only exist in the minds of the audience. Seems the viewers care more about them than their "mother" does. It doesn't bother me. The show should have never given Mere children in the first place. So like Mere --I just forget about them. There was one shot of the doc that mere is sleeping with -- whatshisname -- and I did a double take - he looked so much like Derek! I see what attracts her to him. Meredith has a type, I pretty much don't care about anyone else. But I will say - what! what? Bailey in space? say it ain't so!
  8. Interesting. I truly hope there is another season - they can't just leave the story hanging like that! The prophecy said the chosen one would rest in the arms of the eagle. We all thought it was that boy from last season -- Love -- because he had the giant tattoo on his back of an eagle -- but Rome is also The Eagle. and in the ending scene Cait was standing on the balcony overlooking the giant golden statue of an eagle. HM?
  9. Because it would be super boring. They are finally giving Fergus and Marsali something to do other than look adoringly at Jamie and Claire. I am personally amazed that Fergus hasn't gone off the deep end before this. I remember when Fergus and Marsali were just getting married and Marsali made some comment that Fergus told her her knew how not to get her pregnant - ha! right! what is she? knocked up with like her 5th kid by now! Oh and it kills me whenever Claire advises the women to just get the men to help around the house/with the children! The looks the 18th century characters give her are awesome! Like - say what bitch? The menfolk helping???? I laughed out loud when we saw Claire self medicating! Love it! There is NO WAY she walked away from what happened to her last season without any major mental/emotional damage. Just no way. Oblivion with ether! You go Claire! I still wonder every single time I watch this show -- why the hell those characters from the future chose to remain in the past????
  10. Thank you. I have nothing else to add.
  11. Yup! That was crazy! Remember a couple eps back -- Hemple said - eeny meeny miney moe I caught a druid by the toe <and the camera panned around the group following Cait -- well the "yarn or thread" she got from Willa the witch was wrapped around Divis's toe. So he is under the thrall of Lokka. We saw Ania weave the yarn on Cait's hair and then acted all high and goofy - so obviously it somehow has power/magic. The show sure did a fake out! the whole time I thought the one who betrays was Ania -- but it turns out to be DIVIS! Dude! I did not see that coming! Yes it seemed that Lucius told Cait where the mighty spear was but then Hemple killed Lucius and shot Cait in the leg. Remember a couple eps back when Queen Antidia was singing that song -- the one about the maiden sleeping - well I listened to it again and it is basically the story of the season -- (The 1st lusty lad kisses her lips the second loosens her bodice) and the 3rd lusty lad does such unspeakable things to the maiden that it can not be sung. Finally the maiden awakes in a fright and realizes she slept too long. Well ... General Aulus now has Cait -- and at the end she is in Rome and um... looks to be his wife. Hm? I figure next season she will awaken from her "sleep" in a fright -- like what the jhell am I doing in Rome? - kind of fright!
  12. Antedia and Cait are two of my favorites! I was on the edge of my seat with this episode. I did not know from one minute to the next what was gonna happen! Did Veran save Willa? I have just felt so sorry for her -- she was kicked out of the druids in the first season and has been so lost. I like that Veran said -- not betrayal - sacrifice. I am liking the character and actress who plays Hemple but dayam! I want her to be defeated! and I want Cait to kill her! Also I love the actor who plays Aulus -- and also his character but again - he needs to DIE! Horribly! But I feel like his is an arc of forgiveness and redemption? maybe? So who knows? Ha! Drella! She is a warrior! and loved her look to Cait when she starts fighting-- like what? She was badass! I want our little ragtag group of misfits to win the day. But alas. Rome is not defeated by the Druids in 45BC or when ever this is taking place. Only one more episode? Oy!
  13. Ah big pebble! gonna miss ya! When Divis said he had never been hypnotized by big pebble before -- did he forget that the boy called Love used it against him? The boy was being controlled by The Dead Man just like Ania is being controlled by Hemple. The two dudes locked up with Lucius Validus are not the two who slipped the mushrooms into the water supply at the Roman encampment. They are the two soldiers who got high off the 'shrooms and when the camp was attacked -- we see them running away. The episode ended ambiguously -- we as an audience did not see whether they survived or not -- but obviously they did and are now being exoculated for desertion. The original two dudes have not been seen since that episode. Ok. So the Veran attacked the Romans during their eating a human celebration (I think Amena was the intended delight) and he seemed to be reciting some kind of incantation as he was fighting with Hemple. She looked worried. The words he said were weird. Like acid rain. and pits of oil<< say what??!! I liked the collective sigh /gasp from Queen Antidia and Cait when they recognized Aulus riding to the Roman camp. Shit is going down!
  14. I may be alone - but I like Willa. (hell I like most if not all the characters.) I hope she is playing Hemple and Aulus!
  15. Haha! Right! he got sliced across the cheek in that fight with that druid dude and then sliced in the throat by Cait. Maybe he fears 3rd times the charm!
  16. Willa - the witch -- was weaving or holding that yarn when she was with Aulus when he went to the underworld. I am thinking it's like when the witch casts a spell it's magically intertwined into the yarn? The high priestess asked the witch for something that Veran fears the most? right? So maybe the yearn holds the prophecy? I am not sure how that all works to be honest. There's a lot of lore and magic and such I am not certain if I understand properly.
  17. Right! I also laughed at the scene when Hella shows up -- Phelan/Rolf/Quant says -- she kidnapped me Cait says - she buried me alive Divis says -- well not to brag (paraphrasing) but she tore out my guts and I had to sew them back in with bear intestines' Queen Antidia says -- God! I like her already! Haha! Oh and let's not forget the sister Drella! OMG! I loved when Divis walked beside her identifying all the smells- molds and fungus and dead animals and a couple dead humans and then the last one -- what is that? it's brilliant! I think I saw Drella smile at that!
  18. God! I love this show!!!!! Ok so the prophecy says that "The Chosen One" -- aka Cait -- will get the silver spear and drive the demon from the land (<paraphrasing) the demon being Lokka. and isn't Lokka inside Aulus? Since Aulus is both seeing and speaking to the child he murdered and freaking ATE! maybe that all ties together with the spear of Jesus and forgiveness of sins - in other words - I feel like christian lore is going to play a part in all this. Loved Cait's new outfit and makeup! Girlfriend is looking the part! Also Queen Andidia! Ha! I am loving her more and more! Also Phalen. He is becoming so Zen dude! Oh how the wheel turns. Yes -- those two guys in the cart that recognized Lucius were the dude's that were doing the mushrooms. (Remember one of them was the guy that went all hara kiri and murdered his regiment and the other ran away and beat himself up to look like he had fought.) but he actually deserted. Oh and I almost forgot about poor witchie-poo - Willa -- I mean she doesn't have much fat on those bones--she ain't gonna last long! and what power does Aulus have over her that she can't leave? Why didn't she just slice his throat when he was in the underworld?
  19. The music is always awesome. The spear that killed Jesus and the blazing cross-like shining light seems Christian to me. Or the beginnings of anyway. The bible doesn't get written (or put together anyway) until like 400 years after the crucifixion) -- but word of the new religion began to spread immediately. Yeah I don't see Cait being a believer but I do see her embracing being "the chosen one" whatever that means -- like becoming a warrior. Does anyone think Willa (the witch working for Aulus) is playing the long game? Like she is just biding her time until the opportunity to kill Aulus and his wife? or is she truly enthralled with "the high priestess" ?
  20. Right! Knock! knock! knock! hello? I'm not dead! Don't bury me yet! haha ! So yeah The Veran was in that death vision with Aulus and they both saw Lucius hand the spear to Cait and then - whoa! Trippiness ensues! The Veran looked enlightened when he saw the floating lights but Aulus looked pissed! Lucius now has a bullseye right on his back. Auluis is going to hunt him down! I enjoyed the Cait and Antedia show. The queen is out for vengeance! Haha! and I loved Cait praying to the star -- all is good all is right I think I found someone I can trust ... and then BOOM! Crazy Lady drives the burning turnip truck right into the party! haha!
  21. Life of Brian! (My family sets up 2 nativity sets at Christmas -- the "big fancy one" that has baby Jesus and the smaller poorer one "down the road" that has baby Brian!) < Seriously Divis also seems to think that Cait won't abandon the Druids -- but she seems pretty pissed at them right now! Someone above asked where/when Cait got the runes tattooed on her forehead -- that was way back in season one. She was kidnapped (I think by Hella?) and brought to Veran who carved them into her forehead and then left her in the middle of the stone circle. Divis came and got her. That's when he initially started to train her.
  22. Interesting. Thanks! I am watching David Tennant on Masterpiece Theater remake of Around The World In 80 Days (He is Prof Fogg) Dude is keeping busy!
  23. He talked to Cait's dad and he told Lucius the story of Cait being the "chosen one" and driving the Romans back into the sea. He seemed to know who she was.
  24. No. Lucius brought the spear with him. He hid it under a rock on the beach where the Romans landed. Josephus (the name of the dude who came searching) sort of reminded him that he is a part of the story. That the fact that he -- Lucius -- was the one who put the spear into Jesus's side made him very important to the whole story. After Lucius accidentally killed Josephus (he knock him over and dude fell and cracked his head open) we see Lucius go to the beach and dig under a rock and pull out the spear. Next time we see the spear -- Lucius is in the forest making a long handle for it. (out a a sapling tree trunk) and Vitus comes along and mentions that the spear looks very old. That's the scene where instead of Vitus taking Lucius prisoner for desertion -- he lets him go.
