  1. And this is the Song of Ice (Jon) and Fire (Dany) - and even though I hate the idea and think it is lazy writing you just know that they will somehow come together especially since Dany keeps seeing that damned blue flower in a wall of ice in her visions. Personally, I'd like to see Sansa on her own - she doesn't need Tyrion or LIttlefinger.
  2. Based on recommendations of friends and a Book Bub discount I picked up Libromancer by Jim. C Hines; a story about people who have the magical ability to reach into a book and pull out objects. So far, it is a light, enjoyable, fun read.
  3. Honestly, they writers would have to work their way up just to be bad; that was lazy and oh so predictable. On a positive note, I thought Brent Dalton sold the heck out of the Ward-Hive mind ungluing scene. So, next season is a SHIELD hunt for Daisy - who is all rad now that she's sporting a long wig and goth make-up <bleck> Now that we've been shown LMD - any takers on whether or not Brent Dalton reappears as Ward?
  4. The cloak that Jon handed Edd was the Lord Commander cloak that Mormont wore - and was presumably handed down from Lord Commander to Lord Commander.
  5. Yes, a Bran or Arya reunion would have packed an emotional punch because we’d expect it to be a happy/joyful reunion based on their past relationship with Jon. For me, what made the Sansa-Jon reunion scene so powerful (and beautifully played by Sophie Turner and Kit Harrington) was the fact that they weren't close growing up; that despite their differences and indifference toward each other while growing up, they were able to look past it and enjoy the family bond.
  6. Thank goodness for a partial Stark family reunion and the most awkward dinner ever – otherwise I found most of this episode boring – or worse, a retread. Hello Little Finger! I wondered where you were. Nice to know that Sweet Robin is just as bat shit crazy as his mother. I was bored by everything Meereen and Kings Landing; while not a fan of the Iron Islands, I do think Alfie Allen is doing a fantastic job as Theon Greyjoy (he really needs to be recognized for his phenomenal work on this show). Dany. Yawn. She burns her enemies alive (again), walks through fire (again), declares herself ruler (again), plays white savior (again), and collects a Dothraki horde (again). 20-years, 6,000+ pages, and six seasons and I feel like there has been no movement in Dany’s story since the first book/season. Everything seems rather disjoined – I wonder if the show would be better served if they focused on fewer storylines per episode.
  7. I completely understand - and that's how I feel about Paige too - good dancer, solid technique, and completely boring. I don't feel any joy/happiness from her when she dances (once in a while I feel that from Ginger, but not enough to make me actively root for her). As wonky as Nyle's posture is and as inconsistent as Antonio has been, I find that their enthusiasm is highly infectious. Wanya is also a pleasure to watch.
  8. Doesn't every dance incorporate a "gimmick" be it blindfolds or say a cage?
  9. Well, when you put it like that ....... me too. And I don't care, I'm staying in the shallow end. :)
  10. I like the cast and thought they were good choices; unfortunately horrible writing, poor direction, and wonky editing really made it impossible for them to make a good movie. I would have liked to seen what this cast could have done if the film were crafted by Kevin Feige's group.
  11. Marvel does have a series of comics based on the films; but I'm not sure if this is what you mean. Edit: Dang quote boxes get me every time. :-/
  12. I could not stand that book - if felt like Roth got bored half way through and someone else finished writing it for her.
  13. I just cannot any more with this show. I don't have the energy or desire to watch the rest of the reason. The amount of stupid on display is staggering. I think I just check the threads - they're vastly more entertaining than the show.
  14. I woudl think Bucky returning from his mission with the suitcase from the Starks' trunk is only proof that he obtained the "product" - not of the kill. My head cannon says that the camera was there to provide the proof that the Winter Soldier killed the Starks.
  15. I know nothing about the game - however, some of those scenes are gorgeous.
  16. No, we see a headline saying the Starks were killed in a traffic accident, nothing about murder (or even suspected foul play). We do hear Zola comment that Hydra “arranged” for things to help nudge their plan along. Steve, Natasha, and the audience are left to infer that the Winter Solider did in fact murder the Starks.
  17. I loved Redwing too - and I'm not gonna lie, I gave a litte "squeee" when he appeared on screen - I had a good chuckle at Falcon's "You can pet him" too.
  18. No one is excusing Tony's behavior; what they are saying (I think) is that his going off the rails at the end of the movie and attacking Bucky is perfectly understandable. While Tony might have known on an intellectual level that Bucky was mind-controlled into murdering the Starks; his emotions (already frazzled) overrode his intellect and he want to hurt the guy that “killed my mom.” Once Tony started beating on Bucky, and then Steve, adrenaline, rage, and frustration made it nearly impossible for him to stop.
  19. Pictures, she has to have pictures of someone doing somthing they shouldn't. I wouldn't mind the "specialness" of Daisy if it didn't come with stupid plot points and at the expense of other characters - really, most of this season it seems like the ONLY reason Mack is around to to prop up Daisy. If it is true that Daisy being in mortal danger (yet again*) managed to snap Andrew out of his Lash-ness, that makes it so much WORSE because of Daisy's special snowflake-ness was able to “save” Andrew when his WIFE’S love couldn’t. *And how is it that Coulson’s “best and brightest” field agent always manages to get in so much trouble that all these men have to keep rescuing her?
  20. How was it that Ben was shot in the gut if he was laying across the horse stomach side down?
  21. I know - I do agree that Bucky is very sad - he and Jessica Jones have to be the most tragic figures in the Marvel universal - their lives were turned upside downdown and their brains pretty much scrambled.
  22. Because it would be a very boring movie ;-) Also, I thought it was pretty well established that the Winter Solider was taken out of "storage" for assignments and then put back in when the assignment was done. So it would not seem that strange (to me anyways) that there would be a long gap between events attributed to the Winter Solider. I've learned with superhero/comic book movies to throw all logic out the window and just enjoy the ride. Makes for far fewer headaches than trying to make sense out of the plot holes and out of character moments (though I do think Marvel does a good job of avoiding a lot of those).
  23. Peggy is trying to delay Betsy's wedding to Neddie to delay her own to Benedict; remember, she can't have her wedding until after Betsy is married (Betsy being the eldest daughter). I'm glad that their giving Ben more to do than looking stoic while Washington deliberates on his next move. Still, I have a hard time believing that Ben would murder someone (even a spy) in cold blood. Though I suspect that
  24. Choice - I thought SHIELD offered a choice where Talbot didn't.
  25. Lincoln: Lash's purpose was to save Daisy. Me: I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. Speaking of Daisy, make-up department if you want to make someone look extremely pale, you need to do more than powder the face white and take off the false eyelashes; the effect is ruined when the neck, chest, arms, and hands are a healthy glow. It was so distracting, like a floating white face of Daisy (like I need THAT image stuck in my brain). As far as who "dies" - I don't care as long as it isn't Simmons, Fitz, or Mack.
