  1. If Amma ends up being the killer, I think that’s kind of lame. For whatever her faults, we haven’t seen her be violent and the show has done a piss poor job explaining what her motive might be or how it would even be physically possible. But whatever. The murders really aren’t that interesting and I don’t think it ultimately matters. The story of the women in this family is far more interesting. I’m surprised that some people seem to be blaming Amma for her predicament. She’s a kid who’s been horrifically abused from infancy. I’m not sure what she is supposed to do. She’s been poisoned physically and mentally/spiritually by Adora. This episode crystallized it. For most of the series, Amma’s interactions with people have been played sinisterly, I think to put suspicion on her. But now it seems clearer to me that she’s simply been taught by Adora that all human interactions are transactional. she wants Mama to love her, so she lets her make her sick. She wants boys to like her so she gives them sex. She wants her friends to like her so she gives them popularity, etc. I think this is part of the reason that a lot of her interactions with Camille were so incesty and creepy. Amma simply doesn’t understand that somebody (even her sister) might like/love her “just because”. It’s a transaction. So she probed for the price Camille wanted so Amma could getwhat she wanted. Its really quite sad and making her the killer just erases something really interesting. As for Camille, could she have shown some damn urgency at the end. She knows that Amma is in extreme danger but she dawdled around for how long? She left Jackie’s in daylight and arrived home in pitch darkness. It’s a small town for god sakes! Also why didn’t she cal the police (the real police or the FBI or something)? There is more than enough evidence right now to at least move Amma to protective custody while this is investigated. I get that Camille wants to save her herself but come on. You might literally not have a moment to waste
  2. I still think Liam is full of crap and had no real reason to be so upset. He was more than happy to lie and sneak around when he thought Karma was a lesbian. He only began to care about Amy's potential feelings after he was revealed to be a spoiled, whiny , rich boy. So, the poor guy who was lied to got to have multiple sexual encounters with two extremely hot girls. Sign me up for that kind of torture when I was in high school
  3. I can't imagine that Lauren's pill habit is related to anything so heavy as being trans or having HIV. This is till a silly comedy. Something like Adderall might make sense. She does seem kind of OCD.
  4. I'm still having trouble figuring out what Liam was so upset about. Ok, Karma lied to him in order to peak his interest but they both have grown to like each other. What harm exactly was done to Liam?
  5. After seeing the whole episode, the ending still sucked. It was completely contrived and wholly unrealistic, not just for Amy, whose charachter was completely destroyed but the whole situation. First, it annoyed me to no end that Amy was served alcohol in the first place. I'm a married man who had a wedding and I've been to dozens of weddings/bar mitzvahs, etc. 15 year olds do not get served alcohol even if you're the daughter of the bride. When Liam crashes his car and gets a DUI after banging Amy, guess who gets sued...the caterer. Also, along with that, I get that the wedding is Amy's mom's big day, there is a lot going on, she is probably having a honeymoon, etc. But I REFUSE to believe that neither Amy's mom nor anybody else noticed that Amy was piss drunk and obviously upset about something yet did NOTHING about it. And left her completely alone. Complete bollocks. Even Lauren I imagine would have tried to get her to go to bed. Carter Covington's response was ridiculous and he ruined his own stupid cliffhanger. He had an out to change it but plowed ahead anyway. The whole notion of "revenge sex" is just stupid. Liam, I maybe understand. Maybe. He did sort of get played, though Karma actually did really like him and vice versa so no real harm done to him anyway. Not sure why he was that upset. But Amy. Good god Amy. "Revenge sex" for what exactly? That Karma didn't immediately leap into bed with you after you blindside her with a huge revelation? I don't care that she was drunk, and Covington amde it clear that she knew what she was doing and her intent was to hurt Karma. They managed to turn the hero into a villain, and the girl who should have gotten her comeuppance into a legitimate victim in about 20 seconds of screen time. Also hilarious how Carter Covington and Rita Volk don't seem to be anywhere near the same page when it comes to Amy's charachter.
  6. I agree that Rita has handled the criticism very well thus far, though i am sure there will be a lot more after tonight and more people see what occured. She is keeping it cool, which will serve her well. There is a career out there far beyond this silly little show waiting for her very soon. No reason to get involved in a bunch of nonsense with fans on twitter right now.
  7. Only 10 episodes. It's not exactly a huge ringing endorsement, but it was certainly deserved based on the ratings.
  8. I just can't get over the absolute destruction of Amy's charachter for literally nothing. That 20 seconds changes the entire tone and trajectory if the season. The entire narrative arc was Amy's journey and Karma's cluelessness/selfishness to that journey. Karma finds out, their secret is blown and Karma should be spending the beginning of next season being appropriately punished for her misdeeds so she becomes worthy of the hero once more. Instead it took all of 20 seconds to destroy the hero and turn Karma into an absolutely legitimately aggrieved victim. So now we'll waste episodes next year on the aftermath of this foolishness while trying to redeem the hero of the story. Just narrative nonsense.
  9. You certainly may be right about her ultimate orientation, but the whole thing just feels cheap. She's understandably upset, but Karma wasn't trying to hurt her and in fact, let her down as easily as possible. I guess my point is, you could have shown Amy's depths of despair without throwing her together with a guy. Why didn't she drunk dial Jasmine? Have Shane take her to the Twain to get laid? Proposition Lauren? All of these would have been things a yound, drunk, hurt lesbian girl might do, that don't intentionally and vindictively hurt the person she claims to be in love with, and don't involve a guy. Absolutely. Liam is far worse since he seems to have been intentionally looking for a way to hurt Karma, rather than Amy who just kind of fell into it (though that doesn't excuse her. She wasn't black out drunk. She knew what she was doing)
  10. Oh don't get me wrong, I am not letting Liam off the hook either, and his actions are far worse since he is knowingly praying on an "innocent" not only for his own gratification but to hurt someone he claimed to care about. But at the end of the day, Amy is the main charachter, the "hero" we're supposed to be rooting for and she acted despicably, for absolutely no real reason. And that puts aside any consternation over the lesbian suddenly becoming interested in a guy (apparently this is a big no no for lesbians, which as a straight man, I respect). Honestly, it would have made far more sense if Amy had made a drunken pass at Lauren, who she actually did share a nice monet with, instead of Liam who she doesn't like, barely knows, and just found out had sex with Karma.
  11. And quite frankly, the whole thing makes Amy a completely horrible person, which is a complete 180 from who she has been and who she's been presented to be the entire season. Karma may be an idiot and self absorbed regarding the emotional pain she was causing Amy, but Amy's behavior is completely vindictive, intentional infliction of pain. And for what? That Karma didn't agree to run away to California and get gay married with you immediately? There is seriously no excuse. And no, being drunk is not an excuse, They both knew exactly what they were doing, and why they were doing it.
  12. These spilers are highly dissapointing. I doubt there will be any additional cuts from the episode at this point (probably too late for that) Amy being with Liam just cheapens the entire season, even if she backs out, or decides she doesn't like it next year.
  13. Karma definitely felt something during the kiss with Amy or she wouldn't have been so uncomfortable about the kiss for their "fans". She never was before. She may just chalk up her feelings to just being in the moment and reading nothing deeper into it, but it certainly has made her more uncomfrtable to be affectionate to Amy when she wouldn't have been previously. I've said this before, but Karma is actually a terrible friend right now. She routinely gets Amy involved in nonsense without her conset or even discussing it with her, she has absolutely no problem with lying about Amy to other people and it took Amy breaking off their friendship to apoligize, which instead of just going to your best friend like a normal human being, she does in public, as part of a ploy to make herself look better and also assure Liam she is still into him. Just because Amy is a sap doesn't mean the rest of us need to be. Not sure where they're going with Lauren or even what she was doing yesterday. Was her plan that by getting the hot girls to hate Liam that they would become her friends and thus restore the "natural order" of high school? Seems like a pretty dumb plan, espescially considering none of them seemed to actually like her.
  14. Yeah, I don't know MTV's expectations, and whatever they were it's a certainty that Faking It hasn't blown them out of the water, but it is holdinh Awkward's elad in fairly well and is nearly identical to Awkward in the demo. It seems to me that if you are a cable network, if you have a show with what is now a consistent, core audience of 850,000, that is at least worth another season. It's also a quality show that still has room for improvement. The show almost has to reinvent itself as the "faking it" premsie has already mostly disappeared. They have a superstar in waiting, some great chemistry amongst the leads, including untapped chemistry between Amy and Lauren (which is probably coming), and a potential comedy goldmine that is Hester High, which is a high school Greendale. A cable network shouldn't give up on that potential
  15. Ratings are out. 0.4, 858,000 viewers. Virtually the same as the last 3 weeks. It's not a huge hit by any stretch but Faking It has become an incredibly consistent performer. Not sure what else MTV could possibly want at this point. Renew it, promote the hell out of the final two episodes and figure out a way to make people aware of the superstar currently toiling on MTV and see what you can drum up for season 2. If Rita has a good agent, she won't be around much more than another year or two.
  16. I wonder if Liam will now find himself attracted to Amy, which opens a whole other can of worms. Don't get me wrong, Karma is a cute kid, but there is no contest between the two. None.
  17. Great episode, but I still think Karma is being painted as too self absorbed or dumb at this point. How can she not know that Amy is at least curious about being with her/a woman at this point? Even before the kiss. Amy wasn't exactly hiding her interest in the scenario. And she still comes off as a user more than a friend. But regardless, the threesome scene was great. And no way that threesome would have lasted more than about 8 seconds the way it was going. In fact, I doubt even Liam who is Mr. Experienced, could have lasted until the actual deed.
  18. I wonder if she was a Cameron crazy....
  19. http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/22/faking-it-karmy-amy-threesome/ New sneak peek. Liam is absolutely terrified of Amy in this clip. Hilarious. No way he has the guts to go through with anything.
  20. Liam was completely petrified of not only the threesome, but by Amy in that clip. In fact, the only person with any cool whatsoever was Amy, which is interesting. Amy should have milked him for anything that Squerkle money could afford. Why stop at appetizers? The guy would probably buy you both cars.
  21. Well, it took a threesome, but our girls are finally getting some mainstream press http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/05/22/faking-it-karmy-amy-threesome/
  22. Ratings stayed steady again. 0.4, 850,000 viewers. The show has developed a core, loyal audience who is tuning in every week. It's unlikely to ever become a huge smash, but this has to be good enough for at least one more season.
  23. And Lauren/Amy are both too stubborn right now to realize that they probably would be friends. I've seen nothing to suggest that Lauren wouldn't enjoy watching Say Yes to the Dress or Twilight and their road trip to Dallas actually would have been fun had they not chosen to be miserable.
  24. That sneek peek suggests to me that KArma's sexuality is a little more fluid than we've been led to believe. It seems like she knows what a threesome is, what's expected, and is not only willing, but seemingly eager to try it. I wonder if the thing that leads Karma to suggest a breakup in episode 7 is the fact that KARMA will be freaked out by how into Amy she is, not the other way around as I previously thought
  25. Karma almost had me fully understanding what all the fuss is about over her....and then the last scene happened, lol. It was also good to see that Amy does have flaws, and she was completely in the wrong with the way she acted towards Lauren. Her mom was the problem. And even if everything Lauren was doing was ana ct, she still actually did put together a nice party that her momw as enjoying. Why destroy that? I think Lauren is not so bad. She's just so angry about having to leave her old school, friends, etc., that she's lashing out. Karma was actually pretty cool to her in the car and Lauren could have played along. She'll never have the shorthand/mind reading that Karma and Amy have, but a road trip can be fun. Lastly, the maid of honor thing sucked, and Amy's mom should have thought that through more, but otherwise, I think she honestly did think she was doing the right thing. Amy isn't inetrested in aprties or bridal showers so her mom wasn't going to force her to participate. She also allowed Karma to stay over even though she obviously assumes they're having sex. Lauren was actually right that she would never be allwoed to have a boyfirend stay over.
