Sweet, sweet schadenfreude. I haven't enjoyed watching this show (aside from a few moments) for at least two seasons now.

Carter Covington was tweeting with the fans tonight, and he said that they should know whether or not they're getting a second season within the next week. He also said that Amy's journey is closest to his own, that we could meet Zen in season two, that the finale is his favorite episode, and that watching Buffy inspired him to become a writer.

1x04: Amy: Hey! What are you doing right now? Shane: Going to school like a normal person. Did you snort some meth this morning? Amy: I need you to help me find a girlfriend. I think. Shane: Amy, you already have a girlfriend. If these people find out you're faking it, they will lynch you and not even notice the irony. Amy: Hey. Whatcha studying? Cute girl: Anatomy. Amy: That could come in handy someday. Cute girl: Hopefully. I really wanna go to med school. Amy: Why bother when we can play doctor right now? Cute girl: You're joking. ...Right? Shane: Lesbians don't wanna just hook up, you know? They wanna bond, and they wanna nest, and they wanna fall in love and let themselves go. Amy: Sounds amazing. How do we make this happen? Amy: I'm already faking one relationship. If I'm going to have a real one, I want her to like me for me. Shane: That's not how online dating works. Jasmine: I heard about your lesbian homecoming queens. Sounds like a gay Hogwarts. Amy: Yeah, it's really open and accepting, and I feel bad for hating it. Jasmine: No, it's cool. It's still high school, you know? Amy: Yeah, I don't know why they keep making movies and TV shows about it. Jasmine: I think it's so we won't forget how terrible it was. Amy and Jasmine: Like World War II. Lauren: Wow, I look- Shane: Banging, I know. And you didn't even have to show your boobs. I just can't stop changing lives today. Lauren: Thank you. Shane: Hallelujah. Lauren: Still hate you. Shane: Still hate you too, boo. Karma: If it make you feel any better, my parents are image-obsessed, too. I mean, not because of money, but they're just soo into being alternative. We talk way too much about chakras. Liam: Ooh, let's call child protective services. Karma: I'm just saying, I never really felt like they got me until I came out, and now they're so excited... I'm worried they think my sexual orientation is the most interesting thing about me. I don't know why I'm telling you all this. Liam: It isn't. The most interesting thing about you. Amy: I don't wanna meet another girl. Shane: A boy? Amy: I don't wanna meet another boy. Shane: That limits your options. Amy: It won't make these feelings for Karma go away. Shane: Well then, at least we know what you are. Amy: We do? Shane: You're a Karma-sexual. Amy: She's been my best friend since kindergarten. If I tell her, things will get weird, and we'll drift apart, until one day we'll meet in line at the grocery store and say polite hellos and pretend like we didn't once know everything there was to know about each other. Also, not a quote, but Amy's list of things she hates: Someone who likes reggae Someone who wears sunglasses inside Someone who pays for jeans with holes in them People who overuse employees People who like nuts in their brownies People who think conversate is a word Girls who wear cowboy hats People who think mayo is better than ketchup

I agree -- there hasn't been a miss yet, and the first season is half over. I thought this one was sweet and funny and very true -- I liked hearing Jasmine's story about falling for her best friend, and seeing Shane and Lauren begin to bond (she's been one-note so far and some more depth there would be great), and getting to know a bit more about Liam. I like that Amy couldn't figure things out in one afternoon, because who can?

Same! I hadn't heard a lot about this show before it aired, but I'd heard the one-line premise (something along the lines of "best friends pretend to be lesbians to gain popularity") and rolled my eyes. I had no intention of watching. Then I saw some intriguing Tumblr gifsets and some intelligent quotes from Carter Covington, and I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. I do, however, think that MTV initially marketed this to look like a very different show. That made it look offensive and kind of stupid. It included all of the worst lines (like the one about all guys liking lesbians, and the one about Amy not even liking to look at her own vagina) and left out all the funny ones! The after the premiere was much, much better, and it's what I used to "sell" Faking It to my friends (several of whom are loving the show now, too).

"You Have My Attention": The Speculation Thread

Well, she did make that binder full of lesbian research material for Amy... In all seriousness, yeah, I'm really wondering how they'll even get to that point/why Karma would ever think that was a good idea. -

Another tweet from Carter Covington confirming that Amy is definitely not straight (shocking, right?). -
I don't even know what to say about that. So much happened! I groaned when Conrad waltzed out of jail, but then David Clarke(!?) stabbed him, and I cheered. I also cheered when Emily actually hit Victoria with a shovel. Institutionalizing her was the icing on the cake. I've been waiting three seasons for Victoria to figure out who Emily really is, and that did not disappoint at all. I'm also happy to lose Aiden, as I always found him kind of boring. And I like that Daniel has a new foe to contend with (and that Nolan's going to have more to do in that story line), so it's not just Emily vs. the Graysons for a fourth year in a row. I'm iffy on the David Clarke reveal, but if the post-mortem interviews with the show's EP can be believed (I posted them in the media thread), he's really going to shake up the show, and I'm all for that. This is promising: Also, re: Nolan: More Nolan screentime is always good, in my books.

S02.E04: Governed As It Were By Chance

I feel the same way. As much fun as it would be to see Jordan Gavaris play, like, frat boy clone and hipster nerd clone and weaselly businessman clone, I really think it would be too much. I'm good with the one set of clones for now. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing more in the future, but I wouldn't want them to be clones of someone we already know. -

It's also probably as simple as that we, the audience, don't know the specifics of Natasha's past misdeeds, and we haven't seen her kill anyone that we care about, whereas we've watched Ward kill two popular recurring characters and drop probably two of the most popular characters on the show out of a plane. Like kitlee625 said, we also know that Natasha regrets and is trying to make up for her past. Ward so far appears unrepentant, or at best, somewhat regretful but weak.

Higgs, I think you take a lot of things far too seriously. The linked piece was meant to be humorous, not an authoritative word on exactly what's wrong with Glee.

S02.E04: Governed As It Were By Chance

I think someone determined in a previous thread that Mrs. S would have been younger than that in 1977 (it's been 37 years since then, so even if she's 50 now, she would only have been 13 in 1977). -
It was fun to hate-watch... and there were some very talented people on the show, so it was worth watching just for them, I think (I love , and Christian Borle in the last video on this page). But yes, this comparison of Smash and Glee's realism regarding Broadway made me laugh.
-
Only one person really seems to disagree with you on that, so how much energy do you want to spend restating it, you know? Like bravelittletoaster said, there are so many more problems to discuss! You know it's bad when a show involving Broadway makes Smash look totally realistic.
-
look, it got renewed! We can rest easy now. And the full 22-episode season, too! I was expecting 13. Thanks for the good news, @Splash!

"You Have My Attention": The Speculation Thread

I don't expect them to go through with that threesome at all. I'm just wondering which of the three participants will back out first. Amy would be the obvious choice, but you never know! I just hope it's not Liam; that would be a cheap way to get the audience to like him. -

I don't know how accurate this episode guide is for the upcoming episodes (it has been accurate so far), but if it's correct, . It also looks like Karma will -
'Nashville' still in limbo as ABC reveals Fall plans Ugh, I hate everyone. Just renew it!

Who cares, you guys. The camera shots aren't worth arguing over. We know how you both feel about them, so there's no point in continuing to state your opinion -- nobody's going to change their mind.
