waving feather, Bryan may have "included" Rachel as you point out, but both Sis and Mom made it clear that the last gf didn't comply with the family's notion of "inclusion." So it was Adios, muchacha. But Rachel seems ready to step in. Better her than me.

waving feather, Does Bryan strike you as one who would make only "twice a year" visits to his mother?
-
Re: Bryan's mother--- Bryan's wife can FORGET spending any Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or his birthday somewhere other than at Casa Mamacita. Ever.
-
Dean's father is an eccentric. Dean is for several reasons not ready for marriage. Bryan's mother is Marie Barone** on steroids. Bryan will thus never be attractive as husband material. Eric IMO has excellent qualities. But he seems somewhat less mature than Rachel. And no matter that I've seen all episodes but the first, Peter for me blends into Bryan and I forget whatever it is I just watched with him. Or maybe I simply keep nodding off. **"Everybody Loves Raymond"

Incompetent Amy will remain for several more weeks, being the lone woman standing. Cory might be next to go, what with tonight's partial absence and his fiery chilies followed by his excess salt. Jason's "reward" of team captain for winning the stupid "hand-held" challenge was very lame. (And why should Amy have thought of making meatballs? Do people eat meatballs in one hand?) Giada's teeth would scare off a Great White. So basically this episode was a commercial for BF's show? All-righty, then.

27bored, 1. Italian-Americans aren't in Italy. You'll have to ask someone there. 2. Yes. This fact was mentioned early as a pertinent feature of his relationship with Italian-American Ashley. 3. No. My maternal great-grandparents were from Palermo. My grandfather (and Slovak grandmother) eventually moved to Bayonne, NJ. My paternal great-grandparents were from County Donegal and settled in the coal-mining area of eastern Pennsylvania. So I have "this Sicilian thing" (tm Kay Corleone), the Molly Maguires, and Jersey in my DNA. Stereotypes presented for entertainment purposes don't bug me at all! (Take the cannoli.)

Happy Smiling Scale, 0--5.0: 1.) Ashley---5.0 Anthony---4.5.-----Will stay married. Ashley will take Anthony's last name in appreciation of his willingness to move near Sis; I.e., commitment for commitment. 2.) Sheila---3.0 Nate---3.0------------Might stay married. Their religious faith will be a factor. 3.) Danielle---0.5 Cody---0.0--------Bwahahaha! Not even "Second Chances" material.
-
humble opinion and Racj82, I know all about "The Lone Ranger" theme ("WTO") and its OBVIOUS implications for A&A! Hence, my snarky emoticons with my "shooting an apple on Anthony's head" post! I'm a Baby Boomer, after all. :-P Beenthere, Maybe Danielle didn't want "cute" and "sweet." Or younger by five years. Or Country. I could go on. ETA: I've counted 3 of us who missed the Cody Embarrassment scene. Was it shown on the regular episode, or was it on "Unfiltered"?
-
When A&A were asked that TMI question, Anthony hummed "The William Tell Overture." So I figured Ashley's "favorite position" is shooting an arrow at the apple on Anthony's head. Amirite? ? ?
-
I suspect that Sheila's definition of "ranting and raving" doesn't match mine, just as Ashley's accusing Anthony of "yelling at" her was beyond hyperbole. I must have been distracted during Cody's Kodak Moment. Thank goodness for small favors! If Nate's tears were fake, color me impressed!

Love Connection - General Discussion
LennieBriscoe replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Love Connection
Ramona got herself another Silver Fox, but she later ditched him for being "G. U. "-- "Geographically Undesirable." AKA, not a rich man from the UES. The short (I like short) Italian (I like Italian) magic-card-tricks (not so much this) guest was cute but too interested in himself and, apparently, the one date's bartender ("He was an interesting guy!"). He eventually "ghosted" his and the audience's choice, a "hula-hoop fire dancer." I'm hooked, Andy! (But please--no more "celebrities" from your franchises. Celebs as contestants ruin every type of show.) -
I hope never to see the day when Ph.D.s in linguistics declare "I" to be a perfectly fine object of a preposition and acceptable in the possessive form "I's"!
-
Thank you, chocolatine, for the point about mathematics! No "vernacular" allowed! No "That there four-sided thing is called a 'triangle' where I growed up." I'm looking forward to the HTVs (can I make that happen? :-P) for the humor potential.

Once upon a time I taught English, from "Beowulf" to the Harlem Renaissance and points between. I'm no stuffy pedant, but I ain't gonna play: There actually is a structure to our mongrel language. And even though my beloved mother would say, "I seen," she was nonetheless incorrect in a nails-on-blackboard way. There is regional dialect (often, IMO, simply a matter of pronunciation rather than structure or phrasing); there is cultural patois; there is vernacular; and there is Standard English, aka, school lessons that we all hated. It's good to know the Standard. Even Picasso began by mastering tradition.

Retired teacher of British Lit here. I love this show! The colors! The scenery! Earthy dialogue! Teeming streets! Unruly crowds! Struggling thespians! Thieving urchins! Christopher Marlowe! Where was I? Heehee. Even the tortures in this time of religious turmoil (I recently read that, rather than her half-sister Mary, Elizabeth should have the appellation "Bloody") have been depicted impressively. Go, Will! Bedazzle me!

dirtypop90, Are those lawyers' "uneducated" wives otherwise known as "Trophy Second Wives"? (Channeling Betty Broderick here, heh.) Rachel's social milieu is "athletes and rappers" (I presume that means mega-bucks and mega-partying)? In that case, I don't see her marrying any of these bachelors. ETA this PSA: I highly recommend the new TNT show "Will." :-)

CH = Confoederatio Helvetica, Latin name for Switzerland. When Peter told the teary break-up tale, I figured "Not F1." I'm guessing. I can see a real future only with Eric, but I don't imagine Rachel will be thrilled with the Home Town Visit (HTV). But then, Dean's Dad? (Cue "Twilight Zone" theme.) I actually don't think Rachel is any great beauty. Or wit.

Kentuckians apparently count every single inlet and cove.... http://www.kentuckytourism.com/explore/regions/southern_lakes.aspx I don't know; I just got a "We're all done here" vibe off tonight's episode. Lackluster challenges, presentations, and judging. Potato, Potahto. Boring even to Matthew. Anyone remember Guy "Fee-yetti" Fieri's Tater Tot Casserole? Good times. Here, add some treacly Iced Tea to your outdoorsy concoction. Because.....? Tiffani should probably not have a food show. Like I shouldn't work in a potato-chip factory. J/S.
-
Just want to say before reading the thread: I watched the entire episode and saw no "Unfiltered" afterwards.
-
Not so with Tivo, Racj82. I always watch MAFS the next day, and have never seen "Unfiltered." This episode ends with Sheila's saying, "I'm done." Then "Next time,....." previews. Anyway, so yes, humbleopinion, even Ashley. I think she and we might be surprised if Anthony eventually "tells all" as he opts for divorce.
-
Are people watching and posting about TWO shows? What is this "Unfiltered"? I didn't see half of what's been posted about here! I'm officially annoyed with all three wives. Go back to your losing dating attempts.

I live there! At the 32-minute mark is a street sign that says "W. Market St/Main St." This is THE photo op of Historic Downtown Bethlehem, PA. I've taken many a photo of those street lamps! Marcus now has come to this area several times: Coopersburg (miniature bats); a warehouse in Bethlehem (the episode with the surprise flight); and now back to Bethlehem, with the Precise Graphix Co. in Allentown. Yay for the Lehigh Valley! In fact, through the magic of Google, I can say that the townhouse Marcus took the Overtone guys to is 4314 (self-edited), Bethlehem, very close to me! Maybe I'll check it out! :-) I can post a Zillow link if it's cricket, but I don't want to break board rules.

FINALLY, she killed Kenny! Dang, I could not STAND his stupid, aggressive, constant, meaningless blather! He CANNOT be the next Bachelor!

1. Americans are not "always making up words." However, one might get this opinion by watching AMERICAN TELEVISION. 2. AS AN ONLY CHILD, I'd like to say: Stereotyping is the Devil's work, kids. I want my way all the time because I'm a Scorpio. :-P
