Is anyone else mildly horrified?

The mocking of Subha has just gotten completely out of hand. It's what bothered me most about last night's episode. Gordon going on and on about the test tubes and all three judges acting like they had no idea what to do and how to eat his dish. Then they made him demonstrate **pouring** for them because apparently none of them had ever poured anything before. It is borderline bullying. AND they always seem a bit disappointed when his food is actually good. I don't eat pork BUT Jamie's dish was, to me, the most appealing and probably the only dish of the night that I would actually be tempted to pay good money for. Well, and Subha's but only if he demonstrates pouring for me. I feel like I should dislike Micah but the kid has a certain charm. And some cooking skill I think. As opposed to Nick who may have gone to Harvard but has shown no actual personality yet. So happy to see Dino!

The one thing I'm confused about is, did they actually get to go somewhere on the field trip? My dream is they just drove them to a field, left them, and told them to find their own individual way back to the house.

S21.E20: Live Eviction #6; Head of Household #7
zibnchy replied to Lady Calypso's topic in Past Seasons
OMFG, my mouth dropped open. I honestly thought she'd come back from the commercial break with an "apology". But no. There has got to be blowback for this and I agree, truly unbelievable timing. Oh Julie. I am so disappointed. -
Oh ffs. After all that, Julie said, "we didn't gyp you on your goodbye messages." She's gonna get slammed for that.

I do not think we are giving Jackson enough credit you guys. He cuts up those watermelons all by himself. This is likely the first time he's ever had to do it because doesn't his mommy do it for him usually? He's a big boy now! Also should he be eating all that watermelon? Don't gastro-intestinal issues usually crop up when one eats massive quantities of fruit? Maybe not watermelon. I'm not a huge fruit fan so I'm not sure. I do not want to think about Jackson's intestinal tract. I desperately want someone to take some of his watermelon, sit in front of him to eat it, decide they don't like it, and throw it out! (I do not condone wasting food unless it's a small amount and it is for my entertainment.) Want to see Jackson go all Hulk Smash!

Can Micah pick himself because I have a crazy idea that he's going to pick himself. I get that the idea is they want him to pick a strong player but Dorian, Sara, and Jamie (I can't believe I know names!) don't deserve that and I don't know if Micah will pick on Subha. Subha is an easy target but Micah seems like a man who might fall on his sword for his team. This season is a bit odd for me because I actually basically like all the remaining cooks. Even Septic Gramma Burger. It is going to be difficult to start losing people I like.

I feel like 90% of the Dave and Irina problem is Irina. She's essentially useless and incredibly spoiled. And she believes she's god's gift. Also I just love Anthony and James. I hope they're getting the winners edit.

I have a feeling Zac and Elizabeth will actually get married and have a couple of kids and then, in about 10 years, divorce. Because I'm a cynic. Alex and Dylan might date for a while but I don't think anything long term or very serious. Ray is likely to get hurt by Caro when she soon flits off with some new guy. I like Ray. I doubt Weston and Emily will even trade phone numbers.

I actually felt sorry for Jered thru the whole phone message from Cashew segment. That had to be awkward (I know J&K were friend zoned but, still, awkward) and I think I'd have just thrown my hands up and walked away to start packing. Weston looked super constipated so I guess that was his upset at having Kyra leave face.

I tried to watch episode 2 but then I forwarded thru probably 75% of it. I see no point in trying any more. Too bad. I'm bored and would have liked a new show to watch.

I know! It's an alien artifact. There should have been tents and decontamination stations and soldiers with Guns and Generals yelling "Dammit! I'll decide who lives and dies!". Instead we got a place less well guarded than my local dump. I spent too much time trying to imagine this world where the Only Scientist Who Can Save Us and the Only Starship Captain Who Can Save Us are actually married. To each other! How very bad scifi channel movie of them. The kids is cute, though. She'll probably be endangered in a future episode or two. I'm bored right now so will probably try out Episode 2.

It was starting to feel like a series finale until they did that.

I've only watched the first episode but this is possibly terrible. So far we have Sackhoff's Niko in space with a bunch of *children* and a man with (probably) a dick as small as his ego is large. The only saving grace was Sackhoff and the last 2 minutes of the episode, where she deals with half her problem. Seriously, if this is the best humanity can put together for a mission to save all humankind (or some blah blah blah) then we are so fucked. I like Sackhoff a lot but she has terrible taste in projects and I doubt she will be enough to make it worth putting up with the children.

S07.E13: Here's Where We Get Off
zibnchy replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Orange Is The New Black
I looked it up. I can't really verify if the source is reliable BUT apparently most states will allow a felon to be licensed after passing the bar. After the bar exam all license applicants (even non-felons) must pass a test and convince a board that they are fine upstanding citizens. So if they show they have been rehabilitated, they can practice law. But this is fictional so Piper is probably studying Martian Law on the Moon campus. -
I have decided this season's winner will be Micah. I have no idea if he can cook BUT he's Gordon's special project this season. He'll get preferential treatment because of Gordon's massive ego. (He already has because his tarte tatin was crap.) Also he started the season all slouchy and wearing a backward baseball cap. The last couple he's been without the Hat (and his hair looked recently "styled"). Nobody ever gets to get rid of the Hat if they started the season with the Hat. It is Masterchef Law! So they are cleaning him up for the win. That's my 2 cents. If Septic Gramma Burger wanted to wear regular pants one day production would probably threaten to send him home. What if Renee wanted to wear her hair in a regular bun? Remember the intolerable hair bow sisters on MCJr a couple of years ago (sorry to remind you)? While I'm here I just want to vent briefly about Bri's shoes. WTF?! Please tell me they don't actually let her teeter about in that crazy kitchen on those heels. I don't care about people's shoes at all in real life but in the context of this ridiculous show, those are very ridiculous.

S07.E13: Here's Where We Get Off

I'll admit I cried at the end. I'm hard pressed to remember another relatively high profile show, that lasted more than a few seasons, where the ostensible "star" was such a non-factor. On her best day the character of Piper was annoying. Mostly she was just boring. Her big "love" with Alex was boring. McCullough had soooooo much more chemistry with Alex than Piper ever did. In the end Piper's story was just really not an integral part of the plot of the show. They could have written her out of the last three seasons and I doubt anyone would have noticed. I guess I really disliked Piper. Surprised how happy I was to see Ang and Leanne again. This was Red's story. And Nicky's and Lorna's and Gloria's and Maria's. And Blanca's amazing story. Mostly, it was Taystee's story. I was really afraid we were going to lose her. That prison will be a better place with her in it. (I mean, unless she gets some press and a great new lawyer and manages to get a new trial.) I would watch a Taystee Jefferson spin-off. I mostly hate watched the last couple of years but I thought this was a good final season. I'm glad I stuck with it. Maybe I'll rewatch one day, now that I know I can skip all Piper scenes without missing anything. -
WTF is wrong with Piper? Has she forgotten that just a couple of episodes ago she was in bed with her bar hookup? Piper is the most useless character this show ever gave us. Now Gloria is a great character. This should have been her show from the start.
-
OK the McCullough bit was weird but let's be real, Piper was looking for any reason to sleep with Zelda. Literally any. If McCullough hadn't dropped by she'd probably have stubbed her toe and considered it a sign. Piper still, as always, sucks.

This is bothering me. I refuse to believe that, in the fictional world of OITNB, the warden would not have allowed the husband (are they married?) to give Lorna this news in person (not behind glass), in private. We know about her previous bouts of alternate reality, but does the prison? Maybe they don't care. I really don't want to watch Lorna go slowly mad with grief. It makes me so sad that Sterling died. Did we really get rid of Baddison? Thank god.

I think that way back in Season 1, a cast member won a trip to a pretty huge award show. I think it was the Grammys but that might be wrong. Anyway he dressed all up in a fancy suit and shades and went in a limo BUT he wasn't allowed to talk to anyone and it was just so uncomfortable and weird which is probably why I remember. BTW any or all of that may be a figment of my imagination.

I'm still not convinced they are in Fiji. We haven't seen any of the island except that random beach and that generic bar the girls went to. They could be on a set somewhere in California. Have we seen proof? Even so I would deny any "proof". I feel like this is a conspiracy theory I like. To make this BB related, god I hope Kat is playing a very long game. She's the only one I don't completely dislike. This whole cast is skeevy.

Please manifest this!

Wow. So he stole almost 8 million dollars from his employees and had to pay a fine of only $200,000? Wow. I don't understand why he doesn't have to pay the entire amount. It will be even harder to tolerate George after this news. Good thing this season is limping to a close. Only thing left for this sorry season is a Tim win.

I don't see individual topics for teams so I'll just plunk this here. Nice story about James (of Anthony and James). They're my favorite team by a lot. (Hope I don't jinx them.) https://newsinteractives.cbc.ca/longform/a-cree-doctors-caring-approach-for-transgender-patients
