  1. This felt like half an episode. I know this show is mostly one full season arc, but this one really felt incomplete. "I hate magic", same, Dick, same. Because it makes things like a magical dark elf trying to fistfight you look incredibly dumb. I hope they don't try to put Raven and Gar together. I think in the show they're supposed to be somewhat close in age, but the actors really look their real ages. I was surprised they didn't fix the one line Raven said that was so super Australian sounding that it almost felt like it came from a different person.
  2. It's doing what I was afraid of: it's making it so convoluted that I have no idea what's going on. I know some of that is my fault, but having people talk in 10 minute metaphors in a brand new world that we're still trying to understand just makes me not care. If you have a show that's trying to introduce a new world, talk to me like I'm 5 and once I understand the world then introduce politics and other more complicated ideas.
  3. I really liked they had Reed say exactly what happened and not get into a wacky misunderstanding by trying to make up a story. I'm not sure about the series overall though. The pilot really implied it was going to be a different show than it was. It was really just a workplace sitcom rather than a take on reboots. It wasn't bad, but it felt kind of been there done that.
  4. The letter didn't have the impact I think the writers wanted. We got to see Soshana cry for longer than she'd been shown in the whole series previously. She was supposedly very close with Alan and we saw nothing about her while we wasted a bunch of time on Ezra. Sam's ending is completely meaningless because his mother has no interest in keeping him a captive like he did with Alan.
  5. I'm not sure it's been that long since Sam said it was only 3 days between his two murders.
  6. I liked it enough to keep wanting to watch. It is the kind of show that can easily go off the rails, but since it's following a book that already has an ending maybe it'll be okay. I do wish they hadn't bothered with an accent for Flynne since it feels like CGM only remembered to use it about half the time.
  7. I felt like I'd already seen this episode several times this season. There's no momentum to what should be a very tense story.

    S01.E06: Charlie

Chekhov's peeing went off this episode at least. I feel like I'm watching ACTING more than anything else so it's hard to really care about this.
  9. I'm impressed how boring this show is. Like could we speed things up a bit? We're 8 years in the past and each episode is covering like 2 weeks and we know Lucy and Stephen were together for 4 years. You can have a degree in anything and get into law school so why would the interviewer be asking legal questions like that? That was written by someone who has no idea how law school and internships work. The one thing I did like was that Stephen said the internship was paid, which many are. Of course they'll probably make that one of his "lies".
  10. This ended up being a big dud for me. The mystery wasn't that interesting, the resolution wasn't interesting, most of the characters weren't interesting. It felt like a M. Night Shyamalan movie without a twist ending.
  11. Frank doesn't either with Phoebe. And nobody is wearing a mask in either scene, including the doctors and nurses.
  12. Watched this one yesterday: Jack says with a big smile, "They thought it was a hate crime."
  13. This show is still called "Harley Quinn", right? She's barely involved in it this season.
  14. I had to see this written down to understand his new language: "Huncb Fo Llub Seeth". I understand now why Alex kind of rolled his eyes at it.
  15. The last scene felt like Nathan realizing the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. It's hard for me to get invested in the show because there's no way to know how much is scripted. Like I didn't believe those were Nathan's parents. They very well may be, but he's conditioned us to not trust that anything is real.
  16. While some episodes this season have had some fun bits, it's all not working for me because I don't buy this version of Ivy being with Harley. She's too normal I guess? It's felt like every episode is Ivy trying to convince herself she's really into Harley. For this episode specifically, I liked the Eyes Wide Shut music and the Batman silhouette. Was the old Mayor really in a coma or is he dead and they're just saying he's in one? Pretty sure that thing is straight through his heart.
  17. Maeve was so underused that her sacrifice meant nothing to me. I didn't even know what her powers were until this episode and still don't really other than strong with plot armor arm guards. I'm in agreement with everybody else that this episode made the whole season a big meh. One of my plot pet peeves is characters letting horrible things happen because some familial connection stops them from doing the right thing. I was relieved when they didn't go there with Soldier Boy, but then they made Butcher do it and I just rolled my eyes.
  18. This episode had the most supernatural thing they've ever shown: a stretch of I-95 near NYC that was completely empty (and had shrunk to 2 lanes). The writing for Kristen seems so all over the place episode to episode that I guess at this point it's a character trait?
  19. The reasoning for the NY decision is that gun owners have the right to carry guns for self-defense, but of course that's nowhere in the Constitution. The 2nd only mentions arms in relation to a militia. It's a rule made up by theses same justices in a different case a little while ago. They made the precedent for arms being used for self-defense and then used that precedent for the new ruling.
  20. The other kids aren't trying to get with her mother. He wanted a relationship with Domino. She's the one that shut it down. It would have been his responsibility if she hadn't done that. I also thought of a kind of weird scene. I know it was supposed to play as sweet, but they really should have thought a bit more about including it: a grown man should not accept an invitation to touch a fifteen year old girl in her bed while they're alone.
  21. I didn't realize who Cooper was when I started watching this or else I doubt I would have watched it. I watched his earlier movie Shithouse a little while ago and this is so similar in that his character falls for a woman who doesn't really want to be with him even though he's a super nice guy! I stuck around for Dakota Johnson since I've liked her since Ben & Kate (I skipped the 50 Shades movies). As someone who's disabled it was a bit annoying watching his savior act with Lola. It's easy to be a friend during the good moments when you don't really have to deal with the disability, but that's not an option for a parent. Someone as flighty as him would peace out the moment it got difficult, but this movie gave him a pass where he never had to deal with that.

    All Episodes Talk

It was on Prime, but it doesn't look like it is right now. The only options it shows there for me are to buy it or watch it on the Paramount+ add-on.

    All Episodes Talk

It's not on HBO Max, but it is on Hulu, Peacock, and Paramount+.
  24. That method of getting a virus into somewhere is real though, just using USB drives instead.
  25. I liked the Cal story because it was different and pretty funny and sad and weird, what the show specializes in. It was a lot more interesting than watching Rue run through alleys and trip on stuff for 30 minutes. I don't have a problem with the Kat and Ethan story. A lot of people want something and then when they get it they quickly realize it wasn't what they really wanted. The chase matters more for some people. I don't think showing Kat and Ethan being boring together would be a worthwhile way to spend time. It's also only been 5 episodes this season so far.
