  1. They have a hard enough time remembering he’s on the show.
  2. I know they’re going there, but her pointed references to how great the father was seemed like she was very much talking about Michael. And now I’m getting skeeved out that Michael will competing in love triangles with not one, but two different uncles.
  3. With Charlotte’s scenes yesterday, they really should have saved the WSB recruitment story for her. She’s developed skills from years of living on the run and she has built in conflict with Anna and Brennan. Obviously they’d have to wait a few more years, but the drama and stakes would be so much higher.
  4. Whoever scored today’s episode found the folder on the desktop for “satirically over the top dramatic soap music” for the reveal that Lois’s mother knew about the baby.
  5. *cue montage of Quartermaine infighting and tragedy. Close scene with Gio watching in horror as the family litigates over moving around corpses out of spite* What a wonderful world! I think “passed down” can be the nurture side of nature versus nurture. You pass down recipes and heirlooms and interests by exposing loved ones to things you enjoy. Now, if it was “in his blood,” that would be another story.
  6. At first glance I thought that was a giant bouquet of broccoli.
  7. It’s not like new guy isn’t still bland and forgettable, it’s just, in this single episode he showed more charisma and range than Evan Hofer did his entire run.
  8. You raise some good questions. And I haven’t been following Gio’s backstory well enough to work out the timeline. Gio would have been 6-8 when Dante was revealed to be Sonny’s son (I think.) So potentially Lois felt compelled to include Sonny in Gio’s life around that time since he missed out on being a father to Dante. Or maybe Lois knew all the baby daddy secrets and knew Dante was Sonny’s long before it was revealed in Port Charles.
  9. I hate the Gio storyline, but credit where credit’s due. I thought Amanda Sutton was great today. Her surprise at learning her child was a boy was really well done. Joss and her new love interest actually worked today but it felt jarring to jump into the training already under progress. Also the “choreography” for that fight was all kids of gently lifting and laying onto the matts. Until the kick… Jordan and Isaiah are such a boring and low stakes pairing. She had better chemistry in her brief interactions with Sidwell. The actor playing Isaiah is so good. I hope they figure out what to do with him, because the writing for him has been so aimless. Yay for Ned getting to speak some reasonable truths. We know Sonny isn’t supporting Gio for nefarious reasons, but Ned raised a good point about Gio feeling indebted to him.
  10. This is a good point. Even filler serves some purpose to establish characters or build relationships. Like I can’t remember what type of doctor Isaiah is because every physician seems to be interchangeable based on which actor hasn’t met their minimum for the month, but I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be treating James until after he’d been to radiology. Regardless, if you edited the clips from yesterday’s episode, I doubt they’d fill more than a few minutes, so it’s not like it was dragged out or ate up half the show, so I wasn’t bothered by it. I still stand by my theory that the writing department has been infiltrated by AI, which is leading to the influx of non-sensical contrivances to move characters around the canvas.
  11. I’m surprised Lois didn’t explode when Tracy reasoned Sonny could pay for Gio’s education is he were his grandfather.
  12. Will her alternate personality be Nelle since there aren’t any good rhyming names with Willow? Willow: It wasn’t me! Pillow did it! Nina: But Drew didn’t suffocate. He was shot! Willow: I’m Pillow.
  13. There was something incredibly bad, yet enjoyable about today’s episode. Like maybe the outline was generated by AI because it moved characters from scene to scene in a contrived and completely nonsensical way, but as long as I didn’t think about that the scenes were enjoyable. Absolute highlight was Lulu instantly loosing interest in Charlotte the second there was a new missing kid to sus out.
  14. I cackled when her assessment was on a scale of 100 and not, like, actual proficiency. Also, Lois showing up at the stables for absolutely no reason other than to overhear camp talk and rush to Martin’s. Why is Lois? Why?
  15. I don’t think Michael’s exit story would have been horrible burns if there wasn’t a timer ticking down for Michael to come back. If Chad isn’t ready to come back, I have no doubt Michael will return with a reconstructed face (even though the burns didn’t damage it.) There’s only so long they can stretch out this custody battle and Sasha’s baby without him. Then they can play out a Tale of Two Michael’s a few years down the line when Chad is interested in a steady paycheck again.
  16. Can someone shim that wobbly table at Bobbie’s that Dante and Gio were sitting at? It was just as wobbly the other day when Alexis and Molly were sitting there and it’s driving me crazy!
  17. Between this and the possibility of Russia being allowed a neutral slot, they’re no longer a sure thing for an individual medal. How does that work? Don’t they train in Montreal? It seems crazy that Christina Carriera has been commuting between Montreal and the US for years to maintain residency, while Fournier Beaudry might squeeze out French citizenship in under a year. If Cizeron is gunning for another Olympic medal, I doubt he’d commit to her as a partner if the citizenship change wasn’t a sure thing.
  18. I typically love Conan O’Brien’s humor, but the pacing for the opening was all over the place. There was no cohesive payoff, just a bunch of punchlines thrown at the wall.
  19. Big thanks to ABC for airing a graphic scene from the Substance at 7PM that we couldn’t turn off fast enough before traumatizing our kid!
  20. Technically Lucky was a 20-something during that arc, or at least JJ was, but the character’s age sort of expanded and contracted between GV back to JJ. Plus the Kate Mansi recast aged Kristina a few years. The actors are only 5 years apart. I mean, think of Lulu, Lucky was a teen when she was born, and now the actress playing her is older than him.
  21. JJ really cushioned his Emmy reel this episode. There was nothing showy, but he monologued to anyone within earshot.
  22. My head canon is that Brad sold Portia out for, like, $22.99
  23. Remind me, didn’t Cody pay back most of his debt? I thought he was only short $5,000. Sure, that’s a lot of money, but that’s not “my only option is to quit my job and sell my soul” types of money.
  24. Congrats to the US ladies taking 2, 3, and 4! How exciting for Bradie to take silver after she thought her season was over.
  25. I think Sam was always meant to be a few years older than Dante. BLQs birthday was retconned to 1986-ish, and Dante is probably somewhere around 1983/4.
