Everything with Ablin since season 2 isn't funny and goes from weird to just plain sad. That man be ran out of education in a heartbeat.
-
At this point, I think that is no longer acknowledged.
-
Exactly, all the pieces are there, but sadly the writers don't think that way.
-
I also find it odd they completely dropped the fact that Kyle's dead mother left him all that land to build their own house 3 years ago and now with the time jump its 6 years. I mean seriously, they didn't need to be living there still.
-
Oh the entire storyline was BS, it was just to get Lauren Innes off the show. I mean it was just so poorly done from the parents/one brother with: "We're his family, not you!" Bullshit to even how Kerry "never got around to it". I mean please.

No my station was going in an out, so I missed why she was really back. The truth is, while it make sense in a "real world" manner. As her father was shown to be not be supportive of his government when the character first showed up. The only people that really "like" the character are the writers themselves. Since they had to shut down again for covid restrictions, it's pretty much set in stone this is the end of the series. They could have still acknowledge that Jen was part of the family, but it's more of: "Well, we want her there, because we WANT her there, not in context of the show having organic story telling."
-
Apparently in the three year time jump, she was never went back home.

I wrote a fan fiction years ago that in Luke's head he punched him about three more times and left him on the ground. The landlord (who is a woman) sees him asking to help him up and she kicks him in the middle of the crotch twice and says: "Your rent is late and you are a lousy father and you act like my ex-husband when it comes to sex because that's all you cared about." Then leaves, followed by Luke just punching him like shown then gets to his truck and goes: "I should have went with my gut and not held back... where's Taylor and Kirk?"
-
I agree and as we know with some of the restrictions, it would have been more interesting for Katie to deal with that void and the fact she isn't good at making friends or keeping them. Just like how Greg brought up how he has given up on telling the family any of his hobbies or crusades after what happened with the city council (even though that was stupid IMO). I mean why go: "Well, I'm going to help start the new rural 3R program." Followed by Katie and Oliver going: "Recycling is a scam up with mask wearing, you saving no one!" Or have Taylor do her classic deer in the headlights reaction. Honestly, I hope they just keep Greg like this and have him and Taylor just bound over this and if Katie, Oliver and Nu-Ana-Kat find out, just have Taylor fire back: "Sorry mom, this is actually fun, don't you have a mommy vlog no one is watching to worry about?"

S03.E07: A Cold Mom, A Brother Daddy and a Prison Baby
readster replied to Pallas's topic in The Conners
On Black-ish they had Dre hiding water sealed bags of Kit Kats and snickers in their toilet tank and same with Pops. Even Bow goes: "What the hell is wrong with you? That's our toilet!" Of course also pointing out by his own mother of him just getting high half the time when he was so pressed on work ethic. Now, it's: "Oh hmmm... how long since I had my last joint? Harris, stop stealing my pot and get a real job." -

No kidding. I mean, Mark is serious about school, while Harris wants to just cost in life and then complain when things are unfair because she doesn't "do the work". I mean, Mark should have been: "Grandpa, seriously, stop! This is how I do school, stop acting like you are video bombing Aunt Jackie or something." No, it's dump on Mark. -
Right and that is more on the actress not wanting to be around because of COVID restrictions. Plus, as much as I continue to hope, it seem to give a good reason to get rid of Trip too. We haven't seen him at all since the premiere, I think the writers and producers got a clue that NO ONE likes the character or they also realized not only was Trip one note, but they fulfilled his contract obligations and just let it go, but we will see. Nothing is on the roster of the actor returning in the next few episodes, so I hope that's all she wrote, but we know that Tami is here to stay.
-
I know and I like how Greg pretty much explained anytime he does things he cares about he gets dumped on by the family. It's like me before COVID happen, I kept getting asked why I did just go see my sci-fi/marvel movies since my spouse and family could care less about them. I pretty much said every time I go to enjoy one. I get texts that include: "What time are you going to be home?" "The kids are driving me crazy, when are you coming home?" "Isn't it over yet." Hence, I just gave up and don't say anything if I say I'm: "Going out to run a few things, I'll see everyone in a couple of hours." They leave me alone then.

Yeah, and I did like how everyone called Murry on his crap. He has been doing it for years and now when they do something fun, interesting and different. He checks out in like 10 seconds and when Bev is the voice of reason, you know he screwed up. I have to say I did really enjoy Barry and Erica's story. I am also happy they pretty much took care of her being a doctor too and having her look into law. That actually makes plenty of sense and the rap was fun and be perfect for a mnemonic study aid.
-
Yeah, I'm calling it too with Tami. Even how the daughter acts, which was suppose to be how Angela's kids were that we saw off panel several times. I really did enjoy Taylor's story and Cooper and Oliver's story worked very well. Though I did laugh when they didn't end up having the alcohol at the end.
-
Isn't so telling that considering they had so much they could have taken their daughter, they turned her into a self absorbed oblivious person and it's: "Huh?"
-
Exactly and that was even hammered more with the revival too. I mean she constantly was trying to be with Logan, yet can't break up with her "bed buddy", which I will call him. Yet, constantly let's on that Jess is the right guy now for her, but oh no. Logan reminds her when she was 20 and having fun and then complains about money and travel when she is wasting it on Logan. It just paints Rory that she self destructs her own relationships. Similar to how Lorelai would just go with Christopher WHENEVER he was in town or when he asked her to jump, she keep asking "how high". Then go on how it has ruined your happy life? Oh shut up!
-
Yeah, that's why I didn't even get the "married in Vegas" thing. I mean, how hammered was Susan to even get into a situation to marry this guy, who just HAPPENED to also work in the EMT field in Chicago. That was really stretching things, then even after the baby was born and Chuck went: "Well, maybe he won't got to college." I wanted to go: "Ok, yeah, not everyone goes to college, but you don't just magically become an EMT without secondary education post high school." His character just never made sense and I always liked the actor, but really, the hell?

I think it had something to do with filming as she didn't want to risk exposure to various people, but don't quote me on that. Sadly, it give a great way since they jumped over 3 years to 2024. To get rid of her for good.
-
I agree, they went to all this trouble, then go ahead three years. Which, I can understand this officially marked on everyone as "the final season". However, they did all that crap, pushed Boyd on everyone for years and all of a sudden its: "Oh Kyle and Mandy had a baby girl, they are more important." At that point if I was Amanda Fuller I be: "Ok, fuck you too, not like people don't hire me on streaming services, I'm out."
-
I agree and yet they took it down to not only stupid, but also got it to the point where you wonder why Rory would be involved with either and vice versa.
-
Exactly, especially in this day and age. They need to track down sources for carriers. Decades ago, there was an outbreak of chicken pox at my school district. I'm not talking one or two schools ALL the schools in the elementary level had an outbreak right after Christmas break. I was one of the many who got them. What happened was it was traced back to a Christmas Concert at a church where various kids participated at, I was one of them. A report a year later by the local health department figured that either someone from one of the schools either caught it and sadly exposed everyone at the Christmas concert and when school returned a couple of weeks later, many were passing it around when they returned to school. It didn't hit the middle school or high school level because pretty much everyone had older siblings that were still in the elementary level. There were almost nothing reported in middle to high school level. It's scary how someone can cause such a problem when they don't even know they are a carrier.

S03.E02: Halloween & The Election vs. The Pandemic
readster replied to Pallas's topic in The Conners
I agree and it would make such a great story. Even brining up his PSTD in the military and going: "Well, Dad unlike you, I didn't just give up and go back to old habits that didn't work. I did my best to do better for my family and not blow things on get rich schemes or take vacations that could wait." -
I agree, I mean Owen wanted it both ways. He was mad at Christina for everything she did, but then wanted to keep a relationship with her? Had an affair being mad at her? Told her to get out because he wanted a family, but then didn't want her to go? Then they have it where they want to rehibilatate him with Amelia and she was flipping on decisions and things she said every 5 minutes. Then when Owen pointed that out to people, they were: "Oh that's just Amelia." Then when she did it to them they go: "Umm.... maybe there is something wrong with her?" Kind of like the entire crap with Deluca's bi polar issues. Constant signs that something was wrong, and while Camelia is pointing out the family issues. She doesn't march him down to psych or goes to both Bailey and Meredith and go: "He needs help, this is getting bad and he is going to have a break." Then walk in super human trafficer Opal and they think he's nuts. Then find out, he wasn't and of course he finally admits he doesn't know what is going on. Then an actual professional says: "well, he is bi-polar and lack of sleep does this to people with his condition." Well.... duh! Then add in Bailey's entire speech about: "I'm ADD and I have to be functional." She who used the AIDS virus to cure a boy of his auto immunity disease and NEVER revealed it to anyone. She who constantly saw people flipping out and then instead of sitting them down and getting the information. They had her just make snap decisions like with: Amelia, Richard, Catherine or anyone else because you know she is a FUCKING doctor and Chief. But it's... "Oh I know better."

It's very interesting how some of these actors had such mental health issues from ER to Save by the Bell. I applaud them through out what is a very busy and stressful schedule. Even cast and crew being very supportive and not revealing their health struggles during the time.
