The X-Files Revival: The Truth is in Here
Hidebehind replied to HalcyonDays's topic in The X-Files [V]
How much do you wanna bet that Mulder saw or heard about that crashed UFO and decided to divulge this information to Scully (hence her slightly exasperated expression when they meet up?) :D I'm curious about how they're gonna handle the 2012 invasion storyline. -

Yeah, I like that they're still kissing when Tad O'Malley shows up... lol -

Blind speculation is half the fun! :P -

That would explain why she's performing surgery (assuming that rumor is true). If it is a flashback episode, then it's still possible that Mulder and Scully are reinstated to the FBI in later episodes :) -

Yeah, maybe, though there's a lot of different reasons they might be filming at a hospital, I guess? I'm fine with her being a doctor so long as she doesn't google anything again. ;) I'm still going with my "Mulder is an author" theory :) -

I'm gonna have to block myself from Twitter until August or I'll never get anything done :P I heard a "rumor" that there's a Scully surgery scene today. No confirmation yet though. -

I'm having way too much fun with this. I have to make up for missing out on everything else! -

I just saw this on tumblr: "So this is the breakdown of the scene I saw being shot today, as I understand it. I probably witnessed the two versions of it (with and without the cars - and gilly box) maybe a dozen times. Scully is alone and waiting at some DC downtown location (presumably for Mulder). A car pulls up and he gets out (the car drives off). They face each other and speak about something important (so much eye contact). He kisses her cheek, and then a limo pulls up with that Joel guy (sorry, I haven’t learned his character name). Mulder and Scully shake his hands, and it looks like everyone gets in the limo." http://humancredentials.tumblr.com/post/121153666168/one-in5billion-contains-spoilers-the Here's a video of the scene. I'm probably imagining this, but I swear I hear "Scully... when did you say you were meeting me?" or something like that at the beginning? -

Yeah, I didn't see anything in that photo. I did see her cross though :) You may be right. It's been so long since IWTB that just about any character development would be plausible, I guess. EDIT: I think Mulder's kissing her on the cheek again! -

After seeing the set photos, here's what I'm thinking: 1) Mulder is no longer a hermit. He's dressed a lot more casually than Scully is, though. 2) Scully's still a doctor. 3) They are still together and are possibly married (I haven't seen a clear shot of their left hands yet). Any other thoughts? -

Is it just me or do they keep putting their hands in their pockets so you can't see if they have rings on? :D -

I hope she's not another FBI agent; Dakota Whitney v2 is the last thing I want to see. I think it would be cool if Mulder was now an established author (or at least trying to get published). He always struck me as the writer type. :D -

I know this probably doesn't mean anything, but the song that plays at the end of IWTB (when Mulder confronts Scully outside their house) is titled Home Again. Kinda interesting. -

Is that a strange, unexplainable, unlikely... wedding ring? -
The Goldberg Variation, Requiem, Theef, Je Souhaite, X-Cops, Millenium, Hungry. I really like The Goldberg Variation. It's one of the only episodes with a happy ending...

I'm right there with you on #6. I've heard a lot of people say that Jose Chung's is the best episode of the entire series, and I don't understand that at all. I like season 7 a lot, too. 1. I liked the second movie. 2. I'm fine with Mulder and Scully being a couple, but I don't want to watch them have sex. 3. I don't dislike Skinner, but I'm not particularly invested in him. I feel the same way about Scully's mom. 4. I don't know if this unpopular or not, but I really like Agent Pendrell. 5. I like most of the religious episodes in the show. Scully's often more vulnerable in those episodes, and it's interesting to see, since she's usually so stoic.

I never interpreted Scully's "I'm not coming home" as them breaking up. I thought she meant the opposite... that they were now a couple, they had a home now, and she didn't want to work with him anymore. So maybe that's what Chris Carter means? Something similar happens in the comic books (which used to be considered canon); Scully becomes reinvested in the X-Files after she learns that William is in danger. I wouldn't be surprised if they use William as a plot device to get M&S involved with the FBI again. -

That episode was awful, but otherwise I'd say Glen Morgan consistently wrote solid episodes. Chris Carter was a lot more hit-and-miss imo. -

That's a shame about Spotnitz and Gilligan... Glen Morgan wrote some episodes that I really like: Never Again, Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man, Home, Squeeze, Ice, Tooms, Beyond the Sea, Die Hand Die Verletzt, and Little Green Men. I admittedly haven't seen any of his recent work. -

Since he specifically mentioned that they were not married in the second movie, I think that implies they're married in the revival. (That, or they've broken up...)
