  1. How many do you need? :) Statistically, closer is good.
  2. Today is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year (but what they really mean is: "Happy longest amount of daylight day!"
  3. I've heard that aquariums will lower your blood pressure.
  4. And yet, no photo of Cody. What's up with that?
  5. Smash-and-grab while other people were around? Bold. Another warning, watch out for purse snatchers in parking lots on bicycles and skateboards. You won't hear the bicycles coming. I know we often leave our purses in the cart while we're unloading groceries, securing the kids, etc. And while inside the store, I use the little kid safety belt to secure my purse to the cart.
  6. What'll they think of next.
  7. As loathsome as she may be, I hate for anyone to lose their job. The older you are, the more difficult it is to find another one.
  8. I hope the cat knew enough not to get on a hot grill. I'm suddenly thinking of Hansel and Gretel. "Get in the oven!"
  9. But there are other companies that will take Western tourists to NoKo. And Iraq, and Iran. People have funny ideas about tourist destinations. If you go to the State Department website, they have a long list of travel advisories, including Mexico.
  10. I noticed for the first time that she's wearing a star pendant. With the Statue in the background, I guess they're going for subtle patriotism.
  11. That's how I interpreted it! But you're right, it's the car talking. https://tvadvertsongs.com/alfa-romeo-giulia-dear-predictable/ I think the confusion stems from both the car's voice and the driver being female.
  12. The speculation from a medical professional was that the "sleeping pill" the North Koreans gave him knocked him out far enough that his brain was deprived of oxygen for several minutes, resulting in irreparable brain damage. The whole thing turns my stomach. And, there are still 20(?) Americans in captivity in NoKo.
  13. The guy that started those clinics is a bazillionaire. They are for-profit hospitals. And he's getting an epic divorce. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-cancer-treatment-center-divorce-delay-met-20170426-story.html But that would imply the car is used, not new.
  14. Really? I thought it was the worthy owner talking. I'll have to pay more attention.
  15. Am I the only dog person here?
  16. Mike Rowe is absolutely 100% correct about the need for blue collar folks. And if you're hired a plumber recently, you know there's money to be made. Cricket, we're hoping for good news. Not sure what time zone you're in, but we're here.
  17. Shawn Killinger adopted a baby girl. It's on her FB page. Discussion in the other topic, I guess?
  18. Today's PSA -- I had a small sample tube of Benefit Pore-something. I really like it and bought the full size, but was working on getting the last bit out of the sample. I was thinking the tube was finally empty, but this a.m., I cut the end off the tube, and holy cow! There's a few more days in there! I spent most of my life being a spendthrift, but now my goal is for moths to fly out of my wallet. Le sigh. Thoughts with you, Cricket. But I'd be tempted to look at that CD!
  19. I would fault the lemons. Meyer lemons from my neighbor's tree are VASTLY superior to the lemons I bought at the grocery.
  20. I get phishing emails from myself. I just laugh. Miami Vice. "No earth tones."
  21. I know we've moved on from auto repairs, but I had a thought. AgentRXS didn't say if this was a dealership service department. I don't think people are aware that almost everyone at a car dealership gets a commission, which is why you always get hit with the upsell. For example, if you go in for an oil change and they check your mileage and recommend the 30,000 mile service package -- which costs more than a simple oil change. I think the only people at a car dealership who don't get a commission are the receptionists and cashiers. Just fyi.

    All Episodes Talk

Maybe the cabin was a timeshare. There was an episode where Frasier decides to take Freddie camping and they leave first thing in the morning. But lots of campgrounds have cabins, so ... Prep school is private (a private school that prepares students for college) vs public high school. Sort of the same thing, but one caters to rich kids. I learned about this from Love Story, where Jenny teases Oliver about going to prep school and calls him Preppie.
  23. I'm wondering what Mr. ebk had for dinner ... the same thing?
  24. Found the comparison ... http://www.refinery29.com/2017/06/159155/bachelor-in-paradise-producers-tonya-cooley-rape-lawsuit Viacom settled and it didn't go to court. However, the last paragraph is interesting -- it's all in the terms of the contract. So, going back to BiP, it would depend on the terms of the contract that Corinne Olympios signed as to whether she can file a lawsuit; again, it would probably be settled out of court.
