  1. Kim Richards is not the kind of person who should own a powerful, energetic, and perhaps dominant dog. I've owned a big, powerful, dominant dog,and even though I've been a dog person all my life, she was a challenge for me at first. This has nothing to do with Kim being a good or bad person, but simply how I observed her interacting with the dog on the show. The sad thing to me is that the dog is the one who pays the price for being mishandled by an owner. I was very aware that it was my responsibility to give my dog the guidance and socialization needed to ensure everyone was safe knowing that her life and not mine would be forfeit should she become aggressive. Sometimes the nicest, kindest people in the world just aren't cut out to train this sort of dog. I don't see Kim as a consistent disciplinarian. That's not a character flaw.
  2. Chris works for Summit Farms as a land agent or something. This outfit is just outside Ames (home of Iowa State U) and not far from Des Moines. I think the show might be playing up the Arlington angle. Also Arlington is about the same distance from Chicago as from Des Moines. It seems that Waterloo is the town that these small towns revolve around. I grew up in a town of 123' so I'm probably immune to small town shock. My cousin who still lives there works as a teacher in a town about 12 miles away. I'm sure Arlington has shrunk just as my small town now has dwindled down to one business, but people are centered around another community now. Chris doesn't strike me as the kind of farmer I have known. For one thing, he either has or pretends he has names for his cattle. Generally farm folks I have known don't give names to cattle that are going to be sold for butchering. 4-H cattle are different, of course.
  3. I think RS did post information about Chris's former fiancé. I recall she had dark hair and was very pretty. My memory also says she currently runs a paddle board business. He had at least one picture of them together at some holiday celebration in Chicago (I think)
  4. I don't dislike Brook because she lied or because she wants to win, I dislike her because she doesn't seem to enjoy anything, complains nearly constantly, makes needlessly snide comments about the other races, blames her own deficiencies on luck, and has decided that she can't win on ability so must resort to scheming. I don't enjoy the interpersonal drama. I would like TAR just to have us make up our minds about the teams. We can boo, hiss, or cheer at home. Maya and Amy are studying for their doctorates. I think that's quite admirable especially when women havent been expected to excel in math or science. I'd like Brook to have a bit more appreciation for that instead of trivializing it because she herself has chosen a non-traditional career. After all pro wrestlers are themselves the butt of many denigrating jokes.
  5. Most if not all of the women for this season are posted. I saw them on another board and they probably got them from Reality Steve. It is too early for me to be interested in them. I have a hard time believing that Chris will find lasting love living in a town of 458 people 2hrs and 45 mins from the airport in Des Moines. Not to say there aren't plenty of women who live rurally and love it. They probably don't apply to be on this show. I know nothing about Chris, he was very much wallpaper with a bad hair cut last season.
  6. Has anyone been following this story? http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2014/the-bachelorette-andi-dorfman-josh-murray-estranged-family-despise-snub-brother-aaron-engagement-kacie-mcdonnell/ ? According to a couple of sites, the Murray family does not want Josh to marry Andi.
  7. I'm still out of the country & can't watch & haven't time to post, but I have been reading. Thanks to everyone who did post. By this time next year these HGs will be dim memories. I wish them all the best (except Frankie), and I wish all of you the best as well. At the end of the day, you all literally crushed it! Disgusting.
  8. Labs are wonderful loyal loving dogs. I think Cody is a really good guy -- or at least as good as a handsome guy who has girls throwing themselves at him can be. I don't have a problem with Derrick's character either. I suspect his wife is aware of his "misting" and calls him on it from time to time. Or if not, and he's good to her, it doesn't really matter. Caleb is entertaining in the sense that I can laugh at the things he does, but he's not someone I would want to be around very much. I certainly could never get close to him. He seems like a kind of controlling and self involved person. He's not a bad guy though. Vic is just sad and needy, and I see why Derrick is drawn to her like a little sister who needs someone to look after her. I don't know if I could really put up with her.
  9. Poor Victoria. I feel badly for her. I've never had thick luxuriant hair, but I can sympathize with someone who had it and now does not. As she gets older she will find that many times in life we have to reidentify ourselves. As a young woman, that must be a little more difficult. But right now in the airport waiting for my delayed plane, I see a man with one leg in a wheelchair. There is someone who has had to reidentify himself in a much more drastic way than Victoria. Perspective is sometimes difficult for young people. I see I am going to have to do some reading back. Derrick HOH. Caleb on the block, and Cody wins Veto. Derrick seems set. Or as set as someone can be in this game.
  10. Thanks. I was going to say that any number of heterosexual males grope and harass women, but have zero sexual interest in children. I realize that Frankie respects few boundaries with people, but there is nothing to suggest he has a sexual interest in children.
  11. Well, fellow house guests, I will be on my way to Scotland for the referendum vote and hopefully celebrating with my family. Gonna celebrate my birthday while I am there too. Annnnnd just to bring it back on topic, I will get to see Tuesday night YAY, but will miss everything from then until the end. I'm counting on y'all to keep me filled in and entertained. Frankie, you are a great guy and I will miss your make up and groping the guys, but you were bad for Bb16 from the start.
  12. They should definitely have a blindside, and to make it even better they should coach Vic to begin to stand when Julie says, "By a vote of two to one...." I am so evil.
  13. There is one on jokers and I suppose other Big Brother sites as well.
  14. I also thought it was clear Christine's family loved her. They were just disappointed she didn't live up to he standards they expected. I sincerely doubt they are going on a campaign to drum up votes for her.
  15. I also don't think moms automatically think each and every thing their children does is wonderful. Christine's mom sure didn't give her a pass for her behavior. I know plenty of moms who want their children to succeed but think the children must succeed on their own with only modest help from parents. So, I'm not really buyingu that argument. When a parent buys success for an adult child with money or with influence, that creates dependence and entitlement, and not true success. I don't apply this to Ariana because she is earning her success. Frankie is relying on someone else for success. And also Elissa did some things to earn respect with the viewers such as disagreeing with the prevalent racism in the house and going against Amanda.
  16. I just saw a video with Chris Brown and she whose name shall not be mentioned, and startlingly there were shots of her from the right side. Mostly left side, but I laughed when the right side was shown. Nothing wrong with the right side, but I think she only has the dimple on the left side. Like Kristin Dunst. Anyway -- pretty girl. Not my kind of music. It's hard for me to judge something that is so synthesized and auto tuned. Still see FJG every time I look at her, so ugh.
  17. Aaryn comes to my mind. Unless you are limiting this to winners, in which case, ok.
  18. I would have liked to have put one of my giant schnauzers in the house for a while. There would have been chase games and appropriation of their belongings as toys and barking and chaos! Izzy is too sweet for them.
  19. Monet is too good for Vaughn. She is warm, outspoken, and funny while he is dull and self centered. Vaughn concentrated on the negative from the beginning. He said hurtful things to Monet, and she had trouble remaining calm when hearing hurtful things. Most people do. The normal person doesn't say, "Huh. Let's talk about that." She like many people became defensive. I think that was the real relationship problem they needed to work on. I would have no problem having a conversation with Monet, but I have no ideal what to discuss with Vaughn. His affect is so flat, and he doesn't really seem interested in conversing but rather having a civil facade. Monet wanted to be real and engage, but Vaughn never did. Sometimes he said the words, but I never saw the emotion. The only time he had emotion was when he was giving criticism or complaining (whining). Vaughn is a list keeper. He keeps a list in his head of all the "good" he does and then keeps an eye out to see if he is getting what he considers his fair share back. Not even friendships work this way, and certainly marriages don't. And most of all, no relationship can work when one person thinks he is better than the other. And yes, I loved it when Monet said, "You got my keys?"
  20. I love it that the moms are so passionate. I doubt that Aaryn is happy. She struck me as a miserable person who got thrills from being cruel to others. Those people may have happy events in life, but are never truly happy with themselves or others. Even Frankie for all his groping and dislike of females, doesn't approach the awfulness of last year. I completely agree that this boring group is better than the awful group last year (with a few notable exceptions) In my book, love of dogs or animals in general is not a sign of good character. Some gruesome individuals in history have loved animals. I grant you that it is better than being cruel to animals. I don't have a problem with Derrick being more aloof. I don't like to smoother strange animals with affection. I let them come to me when they are ready. At that point, we can begin a relationship. I don't like animals as cuddle toys or accessories.
  21. No, I agree with you. I didn't have the impression Derrick would put his dogs before his child at all. I was more responding to the post I made. I liked that he cares for his dogs. I strongly believe that commitments to animals are made for life, and you have to find a way to make it work despite difficulties. Dropping off an animal at a shelter is not an option for me. Now for something funny! Caleb said his pet peeve was people smacking their lips while eating!!! He must have been going bonkers. He specifically named Frankie and Derrick as offenders. He has great self control. That's all I can say.
  22. Thanks. I will just take your word for it. I'm certainly not going to google that. I don't have any children, but I would choose any child -- even a stranger's child-- over my pet. If the choices were to kill my pet or any child, I would always save the child. I have always loved animals, and the house is empty without them, but I don't consider them my children. I spend money on the best food and vet care and I consider their needs along with my own, but, at the end of the day, I value children more. Frankie will go nuts over the dog. He was holding Jordan's dog. I think he likes dogs.
