  1. I'm so happy that Jana is going to college. I hope she makes new friends and learns a ton. Go Jana.
  2. Gifted an article about Matthew Perry with more disturbing details: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/16/arts/television/matthew-perry-death-ketamine.html?unlocked_article_code=1.DU4.zIC3.9lme5baTAxZs&smid=url-share
  3. Her dress is lovely. And the bridesmaids dresses were a pretty champagne color. Good for Jana for taking her time and doing things her way.
  4. Yeah joking about overcharging the "moron." So disgusted ppl like this exist. I feel for Matthew's friends and family. What an awful thing to read. I didn't even know Matthew and when I read the details I was sickened.
  5. Yes he injected Matt with several doses of ketamine and then left Perry alone. Awful people.
  6. Some disturbing news: Henrietta Onodi suffered a massive heart attack. She has three young children. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-henrietta-onodis-medical-journey
  7. I feel like we needed a wellness check on @Magog. But what an insane performance by Steph. Felt bad seeing Wemby cry.
  8. Nic Batum, Evan Fournier. That US Serbia game was thrilling. What a 4th quarter comeback.
  9. I found this. Holy shit. Creepy.
  10. Another creepy thing about 1992: Vitaly Scherbo who won 6 golds is also a garbage person who raped Tatiana Gutsu. It’s awful that Tatiana had to be around her rapist.
  11. A lot of swimmers while totally hot have a bit of a weird look. Extremely long torso with tiny, short legs.
  12. Fred Kerley is one beautiful man.
  13. Can we give Qiu Qiyuan some major props? She fell on this routine in AA and hit the bar with her foot in team finals. For her to deliver such a great routine after those disasters must have taken so much mental fortitude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9oKx_Y2Wqc
  14. Svetlana Boguinskaya is on IG and a ton of fun to follow. She is a very positive person and seems to have a lot of close bonds with former gymnasts. So many years later, she still seems like the big den mother. Love her! Plus, EPIC bitchface.
  15. Shericka Jackson also withdrew from the 200M. This is getting really weird with Jamaica.
  16. Swimming has become the old gymnastics. So much icy body language after races between the podium.
  17. That was a great UB final in that the gymnasts with the best routines actually hit. I love Nemour's routine but Qiu's was also gorgeous and so was Suni's. Nemour had a few form breaks that Qiu didn't have but it was a harder routine.
  18. Both Kaylia and Qiu ATE on uneven bars.
  19. Men's rings requires so much upper body strength it's unimaginable. Congrats to Liu Yang, his rings remains awesome, neck roll and all.
  20. Anyone who doesn't use the veto on himself deserves to be evicted. Full stop.
  21. Even worse than the screechy violin music was that fey, precious choreography full of the frantic hand waving and dainty little kicks. Omg. I loved Shannon but I HATED her floor. Anyway, one of the cool things about the '92 quad was that the Soviets had Alexander Alexandrov who was an excellent technician. Dominique Moceanu praised his ability to coach skills. So the Soviet girls were doing skills that the rest of the world had not done yet -- DTY's on vault, those fancy twisting acro skills on beam. As for Moceanu, she also suffered from a SEVERE stress fracture at the Olympics. Same thing with Kim. It's a miracle both of them were able to do what they did on essentially fractured legs.
  22. I kind of disagree with this take. Shannon's vault was amazing, but looking back her bars routine was actually kind of bad? No hit vertical handstands, very little amplitude on her release moves. I still get cringe from her FX too. That screechy violin music that Steve Nunno programmed year after year for Shannon. Shannon was a lovely gymnast though. Just think overall Gutsu had more difficulty and her gymnastics looks more modern. She was doing DTY's almost 30 years ago. But Shannon's coach screaming and apparently bullying other competitors I'm sure did not endear him to judges. There was also a rivalry between Nunno and Bela.
  23. I'm really enjoying the sportsmanship between the racers. I'm sure Sha'Carri was disappointed but she was gracious. I'm old enough to remember the days when after a track race there would not be a single handshake or smile between competitors. Just icy glares, and immediate accusations of doping. I loved the drama but it did not seem in any way healthy.
  24. No real surprises in today's play. Serbia over S. Sudan, USA over Puerto Rico. Only area of concern is that USA is a man down as Jrue Holiday is injured. Boo. I love Jrue Holiday. But that's the point of having a 12-deep roster.
