The trad-wife thing is concerning because of the polished veneer trad-fluencers now have on their SM. So many young women just see their "perfect" life on IG and aspire to be trad-wives. I loved her. Such a no-nonsense, progressive lady.

JD Vance's family history is complicated. His family wasn't poor, in the socioeconomic sense. He wasn't like Clinton, Obama, Lincoln, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, who actually grew up poor as in their families had no money. His family was very dysfunctional, with a lot of instability. Substance abuse, mom was in and out of his life, etc. With that being said, my empathy for him is very little because his shitty childhood didn't seem to give him any sympathy for other people going through shitty situations.

Hillary is fun, funny and engaging ... when she's not running for office. when she is running for office, she seems to memorize a few talking points and she repeats them endlessly. She comes across as frosty and robotic. Then the MINUTE she's not running anymore (like literally you can see the transformation even in the concession speeches), she's chill and funny again. I've never seen anything like it.

While I have my issues with Bernie, I think 2016 was an example of what's wrong with the Democratic selection process. It was just Hillary's "turn," so they went full steam ahead with Hillary, even though behind the scenes there were a lot of complaints about what a poor orator Hillary was, her somewhat lazy campaigning, and her chaotic management style which led to open infighting in her staff. The emails issue was also something everyone knew about. I like Hillary a lot, but every time I see her interviewed I think how remarkable it is that someone who is so obviously intelligent, funny and discerning can also come across so robotically when actually campaigning.

According to Trump, he isn't anymore. Trump said that he distanced himself almost immediately and Trump was hurt. Antonio Brown is the big Buccaneers MAGA. He actually campaigned with Trump.

it's also weird that the people in the NFL who actually took a stand against Trump weren't actually the people you'd expect. Tom Brady and the Pats declined an invite to the Trump WH, and later on lifelong Republican Bill Belichick also declined an award from Trump.

Idk if you're into the NBA, but the NBA is a relatively MAGA-free zone. Most NBA fans tend to skew liberal, and so do the players and coaches. It's not like NFL, where the face of a league is a charming, generous young man who ... happens to be very MAGA. (Patrick Mahomes)

Well just yesterday at my school i saw a teacher tell a migrant student "I hope you get deported." He also told students "immigrants need to be gangbanged out of the country." It's actually horrifying. This isn't a social media Russian bot. This is real life.

Hard disagree here. I got into a huge online fight with someone who said "Tom Hanks is a known pedophile." When I said "before you accuse someone of being a pedophile, you need receipts" the person responded "Democrat. Hollywood. Need I say more?"

Dame is going through it personally. His wife filed for full custody of his three kids, and they are afaik still going through a contentious custody battle. I think the custody arrangement for the moment is Dame's mom has to fly the kids out to see him. I notice he always does better in games on the weekends his kids are there. Giannis also says that he needs Thanasis to keep him calm and centered. Also says that Thanasis is his good cop in the locker room. Thanasis popped his Achilles tendon. So I was watching Kamala Harris's concession speech, and then I watched Romney's and McCain's and George HW Bush's and George McGovern's. YT algorithm then sent me to Mehmet's Oz's concession speech and Kelly Loeffler's. This is a huge range of ideologies. Except every single one of these people showed exceptional grace and graciousness when conceding. It is such a difference with Trump. I think that's my other issue. Trump just shows a cruelty and vileness that is not present in other politicians I disagree with.

I was once trying to explain Q anon to my mom. And my mom was like "Wait a minute, who are the vampires?"

There was also this theory going around in Q anon circles that Biden has a submarine where he hides children and eats them.

You know what is angering me? I like to respect opposite opinions. I can accept that people can have opposing opinions on taxes, abortion, immigration, capital punishment, healthcare and government subsidies. But right now, the MAGAs on my FB feed have: 1. Said they found Kamala wearing pantsuits to be "not classy" and that "real women" wear skirts 2. Claimed that Kamala and Biden manipulated the hurricanes to hit only white people in NC and Florida 3. Called Kamala a "filthy N" 4. Said that since black people only make up 13% of the population, the government shouldn't worry about them In other words, this isn't conscientious disagreement. This is racism and complete disconnect from reality.

One of the thing that disgusts me so much is just how RACIST the MAGAs on my FB feed are. Today one lady was saying she didn't understand why politicians cared at all about black people, as they were only 13% of the population. It just churns my stomach.

This is an OR nurse. She quit to become an energy healer.

I have thought about that. I have also wondered if it's a bit of a class thing. They feel like by joining the Trumpers, they're no longer the "other" and they're mainstream Americans.

Another thing is that the Latinos for Trump often say that they immigrated "the right way" and were "escaping communism." It's a real concern and I dont see the problem becoming better for Democrats, if a large portion of immigrants can listen to all the nativist rhetoric and think "eh, but he's not talking about ME."
