  1. Here's my other theory concerning Abel: I think Sutter wrote himself an "out". Give it 3-5 years. Let SoA's place in TV history settle and cement itself. See how the medieval thing works out. If after the medieval thing, there is a demand for more Sons, Katey's going to be too old to CGI back into her early 20's, so the logical place to go would be with the sons of the Sons. Fast forward it 20 years and you've got Abel and Thomas, Opie's boy, didn't Bobby have 1 boy? For sure a girl (and being Sutter Land, there's gotta be a chick to bang). I'm pretty sure Wendy got knocked up that last night. This is TV after all. And then you've got the potential for Tig, and Chibs' daughters to pop out a generation, for any of them to father one- Sutter could manufacture whatever characters he wanted to. Lyla's son- there's a whole table there. And 20 years in the future? we could get a Sutter does Mad Max thing. Biker apocalypse.
  2. On the Nero/Wendy thing: I thought I remembered it as originally being a basic day trip/weekend trip invitation- "Hey, bring the kids and come out to the farm and see Lucius and pet the cows", then it became much, much more than that when Jax upped it by asking Nero to take Wendy and the boys away. Nero was being a buddy, then Jax handed him care of his family. I don't think Nero was expecting that or prepared for that, but as Nero is a man and a stand-up man at that, he took on the burden of Wendy and the boys until such time as she decides what to do and where to go. Don't forget Jax also dropped the settling of the estate on Nero as well. So at some point, Wendy and the boys are going to have to come back to Charming for funerals, to settle Jax's house, Gemma's house, Gemma's dad's house, the garage, and she may not know she was named care advocate for Gemma's dad. There will be trusts to create and such. They will all be back around the club, no way to avoid it. And who knows? Maybe Tig takes a boy on each knee and tells them heroic stories about their dad and both grandpas. Maybe Wendy heads up to Oregon and lives at Hal Holbrook's house with the boys and cares for him.
  3. I believe the wheels came of the wagon when they went to Ireland and wasted a season over there for no reason.
  4. This isn't really how it will end speculation, but more speculation on what could have been. I have no idea where to put this except here. This started over the past few days as I was (once again) contemplating my unabashed girlcrush on Kozic (RIP). I got to thinking of how many great or potentially interesting characters were brought on and then went away and also how many worthless plotlines were brought on and then went away, trying to figure out where the series lost its way. I think it lost its way when they went to Ireland. To me that was the WTF moment- how does this 3rd tier MC have worldwide franchises? These international gunrunners? LMAO. And characters that were introduced and then never heard from again? Trinity and Maureen. Tell me what the point was of that entire plotline. There wasn't one. David Hale- great character. Would have been interesting to see he and Unser play off of each other like a Greek chorus. Elliott Oswald- had the potential to go someplace. Never did. The ADA dude- creepy, weird, everyone had a visceral dislike. Why do that? I never bought the whole Aryan Nation/Zobelle plot line either. It seemed jammed in there , almost like Henry Rollins and Adam Arkin had a beer with Sutter and said they loved the show. The original Niners guy- he was interesting, put together. It would have been interesting to watch a young black man battle Marks for Pope's territory. Every other cop on the show- the endless string of Roosevelt, Jarry, Eggly, whoever- not a one of them moved the plot forward. You could make an argument for Roosevelt, but that was circumstantial, not character driven. Stunt casting- Stephen King worked. Courtney Love worked. Marilyn Manson worked. Lea Michele? Not so much. Was she really that bad or did Sutter get pissed that her publicist went to town leaking her appearance and "candid" photos? Maybe she was originally supposed to have a bigger role. Who knows? The Hispanic priest- that could have gone somewhere, especially after we later find out Gemma's a preacher's daughter. Alas, another random. Quinn and Montez and Rat- who are these guys again? Why are they there? Seat-fillers? Do any of them actually have any character or plot? Unless one of them turns out to have some major play next week, why bother? Were they just out of bodies? Kozic- loved the actor and the character. There was great potential in 3 Sergeant at Arms in one charter and the pissing contests that could have resulted from that. But no.
  5. I have been reluctant to post this theory as I am fairly new to the SoA forum but not to the site and I am not known here. My theory goes way different than anything posted so far. Here goes: Nero sells his part of Diosa to Alvarez and I think that is his Get out of Jail Free card. He takes his son and gets out. Marks' organization is in tatters. The Chinese are in tatters. The only things left are the Mayans, the Niners, and the Sons. The Sons don't do drugs and they no longer run the guns, yet they are responsible for most of the destruction. If you're Alvarez and Tyler, why do you need the Sons? Why not take them out as well? Every President and VP of the Sons within driving distance is on their way for Jax's Mayhem vote. At some point, they will all be in one room along with all the local members. Why not just blow the thing up? Eliminate the whole structure of the Sons?
  6. I keep going back to a few thoughts after Tuesday night: And those are my guesses, not a spoiler. But, I hid it under a spoiler tag in case people didn't want to hear others guesses.
  7. I wonder if the producers decided last minute to make it a NEL based on watching the mother-daughter implode. If it had been a regular elimination leg and the dentists had been forced to use their save, then were eliminated later and the mother-daughter stayed....well, which would be the team you would rather watch as a viewer and have on your show as a producer? Keep the Dentist, find a way to flame out the mother/daughter, and then carry on. Of course, I also think there was a mutually agreed elimination for the firefighters last week. I think we'll see them pop back up on a reunion/all stars/unfinished business season for a do-over.
  8. I, as well, thought that box looked like the wizard's box. I'm assuming Varys has money stashed all over and thus no need to go back and get some for his destination. I was wrong on a couple of my predictions. I said that in order for the story to move forward, Tywin was going to have to die. I didn't predict it that way for sure, but now KL is in chaos. Know who can get to KL and take advantage of that? I thought it would be Roose Bolton because of the time/distance factor, but now I'm fairly sure we're going to see Stannis take the throne with Jon Snow in charge at the Wall with all of Stannis' and maybe Mances' men.
  9. I'm going a bit long game with this speculation, so not sure if it will be E9 or E10 or even next season, since E9 looks like it will be focused on the Wall. I keep thinking to myself, what would truly cause major upheaval in King's Landing and to move these various storylines around and the answer I keep coming back to is that the Lannisters have to get off that throne and have chaos replace it. So- I think Tyrion will make it out alive and go find his wife. I still think this very unlikely couple is a good one. They show each other kindness and respect. They watch each other's back in the smallest, most intimate ways, like her getting the cup from under the table or him not allowing her to be Joffrey's play toy. And, he is truly the smart one and represents the best of the Lannisters. He interacts well with every other family and could truly be a unifying force. Also, as long as Tyrion is still alive, LF can't close the deal with Sansa. I think he'll find out where she is because she told the Vale people. I think the major death/Lannister chaos will come in some form of an attempt on Tommen. He'll die, Jamie will die trying to protect his son/king, and that will leave Cersei and Tywin will no male heirs to the throne, no money, and no power. The Iron Throne will be empty and chaos will come trying to fill it. The other things I have a hard time speculating on because we have heard bits and pieces of other places but no idea who/where they are or what they represent in the long game. Like Brienne of Tarth- we know Tarth has money, but she's the only person from Tarth, so what does Tarth mean in the big picture and in past history? Same with the places Talisa and Shae were from. We know they exist, but I feel not enough information is available to try and figure out anything past the characters we've already met. Like, who could have predicted Oberyn and Dorne before the season started? I just keep thinking there have to be a lot more people and places we haven't met yet that will prove important to the long game, which makes it hard to speculate. But the one that keeps bubbling in my mind, is this- if chaos ensues, who would get to KL first? Dany can't move fast enough, Stannis can't get there fast enough, the Dorne people can't get there fast enough. The only ones who could get there, secure the city, and put themselves in power would be the Tyrells, maybe the Greyjoys, or.... Roose Bolton, who wouldn't have a claim to it but also wouldn't give a shit and would take it anyway.
  10. Mulling and chewing on a few things overnight- Sansa will be the rallying point at the Eyrie. The Hound has a bit of a crush on her. She's Arya's sister. And the other half of the Bob Hope Comedy Tour is still on it's way to the Eyrie with Brienne being sworn to protect Sansa. That puts two skilled swords and one who is learning at the Eyrie. Sansa's still a virgin. Littlefinger, Robin, Tyrion. Hell, I could even see Cersei bringing her back and marrying her off to Tommen just to torment her. And you know somebody on that small council from the Vale is going to betray her. This moat that Ramsey now holds is in the North. Do Brienne and Pod have to pass through that moat to get to the Eyrie? Everything keeps coming back to Brienne for me today after the whore was belching Bear and the Maiden Fair. And circling back around to Brienne, I keep thinking Jamie is going to do something to save his brother, something glorious and honorable like his buddy Brienne would do.
  11. I can't see Oberyn losing because for him to lose would mean we lose Oberyn and Tyrion, and I don't think HBO would let that happen. They're not afraid to divert from the books when they choose (looking at you True Blood). I'm new to this side of the Wall, having been directed here from the Unsullied, so hi! I have a couple of theories- I'm really hoping the trio of Jamie, Bronn, and Oberyn come up with some way for Oberyn to win. My gut tells me those other two will help any way they can. Anyone think Robin is actually LIttlefinger's son? he has a bird name- might have been as close as she could get to Mockingbird without giving it away. And (carried over from the Unsullied) I truly hope that Tyrion goes looking for his wife. One thing has been constant in that marriage from the beginning- they have kindness and respect for each other, there is no cruelty between them, no ugly words. I'm actually cheering for that marriage to survive.
  12. Color me completely lost! Not too bright on the long game on this one, so ya'll help me please. Shae- didn't Bronn say he put her on the boat himself or watched her get on the boat or left her at the TSA security line for the boat? So long game- is Bronn now working for Cersei? Pycelle- WTF? Pycelle comes up with the necklace in hand, names Ser Dontos out loud, and explains and implicates Sansa as well. How did we get from Littlefinger and his crossbow to that necklace showing up in court? Or more long game, Littlefinger said he had the necklace made. By whom? On whose orders? And who made the big picture decision to involve and trust Pycelle enough to not only supply the poison but then put the necklace together, give the handoff to Ser Dontos, and have Olenna remove the stone and poison Joffrey? My mind is reeling because now this is a much bigger plot than LF/Olenna. Now we have Shae, Bronn, LF, the Tyrells, Someone please, very slowly, spell out this murder plot because I'm not getting it. Jamie- when Jamie agreed to get married and move to Casterly Rock and marry a woman of acceptable (whatever the quality was) and have legitimate Lannister babies, who else did the girl squee and shouted "Brienne! He's going to marry Brienne!" Nothing ever works out that well though. Maybe one of Oberyn's 8 daughters? The Hound- when they mentioned the Hound and his trek across the whatever, wasn't it Oberyn that perked right up? And all that knowledge of the Hound and not one person along the route thought to mention he was traveling with a teenager? Why do we care about the Greyjoys again? We have a season of torture to end up with a moat? Couldn't we have simply killed off Theon and gone and fought for the moat? Are they actually going to try and pass him off as important again? Yara and the soldiers all saw him. They know whatever happens from this point, he was broken.
  13. Going for the spitball here, because I WANT Tyrion to be a good man. Robin knows who Sansa is but isn't supposed to call her that in public. So you know he will. To whom? Not sure. Tyrion gets out of the murder trial innocent and goes looking for his wife, because that's what he would do. Finds out she's at the Eyrie, his favorite place. Bronn made that joke about 10 men and some climbing shoes. I bet they know a way in. I want to see them married and happy, because through everything, we've never seen either of them treat one another with anything less than respect and kindness. And did Oberyn say he had 8 daughters? maybe one of them ends up as Tommen's Queen?
  14. Still don't see Tywin letting yet another Lannister be known as a Kingslayer. I think Tyrion is going to get out of this.
  15. Throwing up a spitball: Tywin takes the old military tactic of letting the junior officers speak first. Oberyn votes innocent on Tyrion because he gut instinct likes Tyrion and it foils Tywin (double win) Margery's dad does what Olenna tells him to and even she has enough humanity to not let Tyrion take the fall. Then Tywin votes innocent to make it unanimous. I don't think Tywin wants Tyrion convicted. It would reflect badly on the Lannisters and he avoids that at all costs. I think he chose those other two for jurors specifically because they would vote innocent.
  16. I'm thinking it might be Aslaug. She's popped out the required sons, time for her to go. Horik sends Floki and his family on a boat to Iceland (real history says Floki settled Iceland).
  17. Spitball: The more I think about it, whomever killed Joffrey did it at the wedding precisely so there would be no claims of a wedding night child. Who would have the anti-Lannister thoughts and the finesse to pull it off? Stannis and Bolton are too clumsy to have the finesse. Dany wouldn't do it with stealth but in your face. So, I am going to go with either the Dornish or some character we haven't met yet via Varys and Littlefinger. Those two have the ability and we're still not sure where their alliances lay. Varys seems to have a lot of connections off island and who knows with Littlefinger.
  18. I will respectfully disagree. It is not until the last 100 years that there has been any societal shift on marital rape. Just as many societies today still do arranged marriages, many societies today hold the opinion that a husband can take his "marital rights". The purpose of an arranged marriage is to provide the young people a framework of their families mores and social structure. It is to give guidance to building a family and entering a community as adults. There's no love required in that. If love were required for sex, all of our ancestors would have died out long ago. In fact, it wasn't until about 40 years ago with the advent of the Pill and legal abortion that public conversations about nice girls enjoying sex inside and outside of marriage even took place. I find it very unrealistic to judge a show set in the past by modern mores. If you judge GoT by the mores of the time, it's right on target, even if you(general) don't like those mores.
  19. Let's go back to this Shae on the ship thing. Tyrion buys passage for Shae on a ship going across the sea. Perhaps she's on that boat. Perhaps it's the exact same boat that Littlefinger is on as well. But, the true destination is not across the sea but Littlefinger's destination. A diverted destination may have been what allowed that boat to dock in the harbor. The whole passenger lot may think they're on a booze cruise across the sea but in reality, they're getting diverted by LF to wherever. Oh, and a LMAO for ya'll- I hear a feminist, political type viewer remarking about the Jamie/Cersei scene- "He can't do that. No means no. Rape is rape. They can't portray that on TV" etc. and all I could think was "You must not have been watching before this, because incest rape by the dead body is about par for GoT. This is not that unusual."
  20. Shae got on a boat and no one saw her leave. Littlefinger's boat was parked out in the harbor. Did Bronn put Shae on Littlefinger's boat? If so, then I have hope Sansa just might make it through this.
  21. Wow. Wasn't expecting that. I would be more in line with Cersei poisoning Margery's wine before Joffrey's. Then she still is queen. She knew she was still going to be queen when she changed the leftover thing. I didn't get that at the time. Did he get the wrong wineglass?
  22. I am going to spitball the "primary entertainment" involves either Sansa or Loras. I haven't worked out the what and why yet, but those two seem right up Joffrey's idea of wedding festivities.
  23. Hi. I'm new. I was a lurker at TWoP because it was a pain in the a** to get validated to post. I was glad to see someone else upthread mention the necklace, because it's been bothering me. The older lady threw a necklace off the wall. Was it the same necklace? Could he have found it in the brush and brought it to Sansa and now she's wearing a stolen piece of jewelry? I am over Dany and the dragons. It's like last season with Theon- this story needs to either go somewhere or go away. How much longer can the blond chick march through the desert?
