  1. I have a feeling there is more to this than meets the eye. Kaya is very close to Elsbeth. She wouldn't ghost her. I think she's working on something that she needs to keep away from Elsbeth. The only thing that comes to mind is the judge.
  2. Well, that was a waste of time. We spent the first half of the finale without David anywhere to be seen. And the last half was a big disappointment. Neither the director nor the editor (and let's include the writer too) have any idea how to create suspense, how to build an epic ending, or how to make viewers want to come back for more. I knew we weren't going to get the entire story this season, that they had planned for at least one more. But I felt I watched eight episodes without getting any real finale. There needed to be one more episode to create some intrigue for next season. "One of the most legendary battles of history" was a nothing burger. I won't be back. Not even sure why I watched this, other than the title intrigued me.
  3. As someone who mostly hate watches it now, we can only hope not.
  4. I tried Sherry after watching Niles & Frasier drink it repeatedly on this show. This was probably mid-90s, after it had been running a few seasons. Turned out I loved it! I started having a small snifter of Sherry every day when I came home from work. I became quite a snob, trying the different varieties--Amontillado, Manzanilla, etc. I did this for several years before moving on to something else.
  5. Challenging episode to watch. Nobody wins.
  6. I'm out. Between the show losing its way (too violent, too many deaths, too unrealistic, no TRACKing), and missing the last 20 minutes tonight, I don't need this. Seriously CBS, your "supposed" top ranked show, and you delay it that long?
  7. Yes. It's been a while, so I've forgotten the exact timeline, but you have it correct. The last scene was pre-Silo. I don't think they've said how "pre" it is, but we can deduce somewhere between 1-20 years before (let's call it) Day Zero. And the current Silo is 200-300 years or more after Day Zero (whatever that may be). Again, it's been so long I don't remember the math, but several centuries.
  8. They've never changed anything like that. They've shown us some different perspectives on scenes, and very mildly retconned a few things, but no significant life event has ever been changed. Bottom line: There's no way MeeMaw dies.
  9. Good episode. Interesting the way the marriage partners flipped last minute, giving David a chance at Michal.
  10. FWIW, that article says nothing. I appreciate your sharing it, but it has NO info in it.
  11. Thanks, fixed.
  12. ATL is about 1,000' above sea level, they said the tsunami was about 800'. less than that.
  13. That's the key. While that map makes it look like TX is 99% Red, it's the land that's 99% red. But most of that land is sparsely populated. 2024 Pres results: 56-42, 2020 was 52-47. The areas around Houston, DFW, Austin, San Antonio... JUST these four areas have 2/3 of the entire state's population.
  14. The big TX cities are all Blue. They tend to be very blue in the core/center, and getter redder as you go out. example: Houston is a Blue city, although not near as liberal as (for example) a NE city. But the Houston suburbs are Red. Also, Texas is not a bright Red as people think. Typically, in a pres election, it goes 52-55 red, 45-48 blue. Nothing like a RED state that's 70-30 or 80-20 (eg, Wyoming). Gerrymandering has given Reds huge power here, even though they are barely a majority.
  15. Same here, times a million. I would never, EVER in my life leave one of my dogs tied up outside somewhere, unless I could keep an eye on them the entire time. I was somewhat stunned he did that.
  16. I don't think we know how strong/secure the exterior security of the place is. We've seen people going into the hangar, but that's inside the perimeter. And we've seen people outside Paradise (like the scene where Pace shoots the scientists), but have we seen anyone actually going outside? There may be massive security between the hangar (or whatever is the outermost section of Paradise), and the outside itself. You raise an interesting point. My curiosity makes me want to know.
  17. Thoughts so far... I finished the first three episodes last night... It's just average. It needs much tighter editing, I found myself bored at times with the pacing. Perhaps if the writing was sharper the poor editing wouldn't be as noticeable. It's got potential, and I'll keep watching for now. Oddly enough, there's a month-long hiatus after E5 (March 13), until E6 (April 20). I hope it gets better, or it will be a permanent hiatus for me. It would also help if David was played by someone with charisma. They have him as meek and mild-mannered, but so meek that he has little screen presence at times. As contrast, look at Timothée Chalamet in Dune. He plays someone who starts out quiet and mild-mannered also, someone who also didn't know his ultimate fate, but he exudes an aura on-screen that makes him a strong character. You can't but help watch him grow into his hero role. With this David, you feel none of that. Not everyone is TC, but you gotta cast someone who can carry the role. Maybe he'll get better. It also would have helped if he was better looking. You want your heroes to be eye candy (said only slightly tongue-in-cheek).
  18. G&M is a live audience. It's a multi-cam sitcom, with a live audience. There is no laugh track. Steve Holland (showrunner) addressed this scene in an interview this week. He said laughs didn't feel right in that scene, so they edited them out. But those scenes were filmed in front of a live audience, just like the entire series. BBT and G&M = multicam sitcom, live audience, live laughs YS = single camera, no live audience, no laugh track They're working on a BBT spinoff, featuring Stuart (comic book shop), Denise (his girlfriend), and Bert (the geologist). If you haven't watched a single episode, how can you say they're not worth watching. I appreciate you may not like the characters they chose to use, and if you don't want to watch them, your choice. But to then say "I'm surprised it was renewed and don't expect it to last"? How would you know? You haven't watched it.
  19. I could be totally off-base or misremembering, but I thought we knew her first was Black?
  20. Really fun show, and a great cast. Was sorry to see it cancelled.
  21. Funny story: Around 1990, wife & I are flying from Houston to Ixtapa, on Aeroméxico. Layover in Mexico City, with about a 2 hour gap. We get off in Mexico City and wander around the airport. When we get back to the gate, they tell us there was a problem with the original plane, and we have a new plane. Our luggage has all been transferred, but we need to pick new seat stickers, as it's a different aircraft. No problem, pick seats, put the sticker on our tickets. Just as we start to board, they realized the sticker layout they used was from a completely different aircraft, neither our original or the one that replaced it. No one's sticker makes any sense. At this point they said just find a seat, and as soon as everyone is seated, we'll take off. We were headed for a Mexican beach resort, plus had just spent an hour+ in the airport killing time 🍹 so everyone was "sure no prob". Nowadays, there would be lawsuits filed, and people complaining about seat assignments, it would be all over social media, and no one would be happy.
  22. Flower mentioned the Grateful Dead, and their soundman who was nicknamed Bear. This was real. One of their early supporters and sound engineers was Owsley "Bear" Stanley. He was responsible for their amazing sound system (the "Wall of Sound"). He was also behind the popularity of LSD in the 60s, primarily by manufacturing millions of hits. The Dead ended up dedicating an album to him, called "Bear's Choice". Flower mentioned the Dead song "Sugar Magnolia" in an earlier episode. Someone on the writing staff is a Deadhead!
  23. Sorry about that. When I saw that post, I replied without realizing my possibility came from a future episode. I went ahead and deleted it, there was no point in leaving it in this thread. Appreciate the reminder!
