Ezekiel Elliott crashed his car that he was driving on a suspended license after his DUI earlier this year. OSU gave him no punishment and he will play in the bowl as scheduled. I'm sure you can infer my opinion on this.

Parker is back at work! I enjoyed that and I enjoyed the engineering strategy stuff. When Discovery breaks out the engineering cartoons, I'm usually entertained.

Yeah, I have high hopes for him on Survivor. He's engaged now so he shouldn't be falling in love with anyone out there, which was really the only thing that really turned people off him on BB. Was anyone clear if he was on the Beauty or Brawn team? I think Beauty, but I wasn't sure. Clearly not Brains ;-)

Stories I'm reading today say that Bo Ryan wanted to retire before this season but that family issues in his assistant's life prevented him from being able to take over until now. It doesn't sound like Alvarez was caught off guard. Bo was a great coach and left a great legacy. I hope Wisconsin bounces back soon.

I listened to The Message. It's fine. It's 8 episodes and some are not even 15 minutes, so not much of a commitment. I think it's the 1st fictional podcast I had listened to before, so that was new and interesting, but it's not going to be winning any awards. I also listen to You Must Remember This. Karina Longworth's voice is so strange and hypnotic to me. I probably only hear 50% of the content of any given episode because I listen at work and her voice turns into sounds and not words if I am concentrating elsewhere. Still, the content is super interesting (old Hollywood stories) and her research seems extremely thorough and excellent. The more modern series she did about the effect of the Manson murders on Hollywood culture was especially enjoyable to me.

If Todd cannot pull a weight of gold out of the ground greater than Parker with his insane amount of resources, that is just sad.

I can speak to tonight's game (because I am a complete ass and did not realize we get CSN Bay Area and have been "watching" games by reading play by play on my phone), but YES. Steph is thrilling, but the whole team is a lot of fun to watch.

I am woefully ignorant about this story, so although the episode wasn't super exciting, the basic background info was good for me. I also enjoyed the end "That's me, calling the Taliban". Missed you, SK.

They were the only Power 5 conference champ with 2 losses. Are Stanford fans really upset?

The last time Michigan played Florida in a bowl game was New Years Day 2008, when we beat Tim Tebow fresh off his Heisman win. That was a fun one.

So Michigan and Wisconsin get Outback and Citrus I assume. I also assume Michigan gets LSU for the Les Miles vs Michigan story. I'd prefer Florida. eta: Whoops, nope, it's Michigan vs Florida in the Citrus. My dad is a Badger fan living in Madison for 25 years who grew up in Louisiana (Tulane though, not LSU). Regardless, I bet he's going to be excited for that game. OK edited again. Northwestern is playing Tennessee in the Outback bowl. I will not predict anything else as I am awful at guessing.

Was the playoff schedule like this last year? I'm also on the west coast so the games will be done before most parties, but it seems like a weird time. The second game is going to end around 11:30 EST. This 4 hour ESPN show is a bit much. I want to see the full top 25 rankings and the bowl announcements, but I really should not sit here all morning.

I hope there is a replay of the MSU-Iowa game this week. I saw the highlights, but I'd like to see the game. I was watching scores non-discretely on my phone at a party and broke into a huge grin when MSU scored at the end. Go Spartans, all the way. I hope Oklahoma and MSU really take it to Bama and Clemson however the matchups sort themselves out. I loved this season. It helps when your team is actually competitive again, but I really enjoyed watching games in lots of conferences this year. College football is by far my favorite sport season of the year.

Both Rick and Tony made references to Parker not being on the claim, but as a matter of fact, not complaint. So where is he? Does he have another not-for-TV mine? Or some other business? I would really appreciate some explanation.

Yeah I was going to ask about his kid - is he still bringing her? It would get less cute every year older she got. It's been my only ever side eye at him (don't bring your kid to work, regardless of job) but he seems like a good guy.

The timing of the loss is more important - Clemson is out if they lose. In the same respect, if OSU had lost to MSU in early October, I think they'd be in.

I still disagree that OSU gets in if Clemson loses. I think UNC gets in. If Bama loses (unlikely) then the Buckeyes are likely in, but maybe Stanford if they beat USC.

I believe the LSU AD already announced that Les Miles will be staying (good decision in my opinion). Georgia coach Mark Richt was fired this morning. That ND/Stanford game ended so differently from so many previous ND games. I always expect them to pull a win out of their ass, but not this time! Alabama is going to destroy Florida next week. I think MSU wins handily over Iowa. I am not sure who UNC has played that would give any indication of how good they are, but I would not be surprised if they beat Clemson. I hope Clemson wins though. Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, MSU is a nice clean Top 4 and none of those teams have anything I personally dislike. Speaking of, I don't know that there are any players this year that make me hate a team like Manziel, Winston, Cam Newton, etc. The most offensive person in football this year is Ezekiel Elliot, and I hated him by association anyway. I would argue that UNC would deserve that spot. Oklahoma's loss to Texas is as bad as UNC's loss to USC and no one is even considering leaving Oklahoma out. Thoughts?

I like this show because it puts me to sleep instantly. Something about the wailing instruments, the pointless conversations, the quiet voices... I'm out. It's a joke in our house at this point.
