  2. Oh also nice that Jack seems to be out of the show for good. Not so nice that Keeley wasn't the one who ended it and instead even text-bombed her. After what Jack did, I would have thought the Keeley we've known from previous seasons would have had enough self respect to kick Jack to the curb herself. That must have been the most unrealistic part of the episode. Roy is a very hairy man. I'd bet my left nut that he has a hairy ass. Thanks for the recap. I fast forewarded through all the Nate scenes. I just can't with his storyline. Now I'm all caught up and don't actually have to subject myself to watching it on screen. I was very impressed by dat ass when she stormed off to the confrontation... and I'm not even into women.
  3. This was cute. A bit sad that Colin won't come out fully and have both his lives merge, like he talked about in the Amsterdam episode, but baby steps. Also great use of "I am what I am" at the end, even though nothing beats the Gloria Gaynor version.
  4. These two statements contradict each other. What did you base your first statement on and what made you change your mind?
  5. He basically has to say that, lest this season gets categoraised as a drama in all the award shows, with much stiffer competition.
  6. Except that was actually good. This was just boring and depressing.
  7. It does get quite a bit better. I'd recommend sticking it out.
  8. Because Cosmo in the comics is a male dog, specifically to make clear that he's not Laika, even though he was of course inspired by her. But here they changed it to a female dog, to reference Laika, but didn't go all the way. That's just a weird half measure.
  9. Then it's extra weird that they didn't change the name. Especially considering the origin story told in the movie.
  10. I saw this in 4DX. Not because I particularly wanted to, but because that was the only convenient english screening. Can't say I'm a big fan. It's a fun idea in principle and when they do small movements, to simulate a space ship dipping a bit for example, it's great. But you can't really enjoy the action scenes if you are constantly worried that you are going to get thrown out of your seat any second. They just way overdo it. You also need to use the foot rests, to brace yourself, to not get thrown out and as a 2m (6'8") guy I have to say, they are too close to the seat / too high and make for a very unconforable angle of my legs, especially once you pass the two hour mark. I'm just glad I didn't buy any food or drink. That would have gone everywhere. The movie itself was great. Where I felt every second in the D&D movie and thought they should have cut out at least 30 minutes from that 134 minute film, I never once felt the 150 minutes of this movie. I was thoroughly entertained the whole time. This was a very emotional story, but still a lot of fun. Not sure what else to say really. It's always a lot easier to complain about bad movies, there is so much to say. This was just great through and through. It's a bit weird that they changed Laika's name to Cosmo instead of just going with the original name. It's not like her descendants are going to get mad. I guess Cosmo is a character from the comics, but there it's a male dog, so... My only complaint is my ever green pet peeve: Space don't work like that. Yes, space is cold, but there is also nothing to transfare heat away from you, except infrared radiation, which is sloooow. So you won't ice over in a few seconds. At least Peter didn't freeze all the way through, unlike people on some other scifi media *cough* Picard *cough*. But really if that is the only thing I can come up with, and it's only a nitpick really, that says a lot about how tightly written and consistent this film was. I really appreaciate that. You don't get that very often nowadays.
  11. Maybe just make up a fake diary found in the walls, in which Thomas confesses. Nobody is going to check. They should invest into a Laptop with a fingerprint reader, so the ghosts can't see them typing passwords and some 2FA for their bank accounts. Is it even possible to do wire transfares with only a password? German banks had mandetory 2FA since online banking has been a thing for that. Alberta had said multiple times that Al Capone was in love with her and she rejected him. Just not that he was there that night. People are bi, shura. We saw his death in a previous episode. He was struck by lightning, which made the helmet fall off. I guess he was alive long enough for it to count as not on his head, when he died. There are free open source software solutions out there. Like KeepPassXC. Don't subcribe to commercial solutions unless you want your passwords leaked *cough* Lastpass *cough*. Yes, he smells of wolf urin, since his furs were drenched in it "to ward off bear". Hetty died around 1890, she has repeatedly stated she died 130 years ago. Hard to believe she would have been wearing an out of style dress when she died. There's still a lot we don't know about her though, including how she died. I mean as you said, she died around 130 years ago. 1889 would have still been in the the 1880s. Also as a conservative woman she might have held on to the style a bit longer.
  12. People are arguing about if the earth is a sphere or not. I don't think things have to be ambiguios for people to argue about it.
  13. I don't think there are national or international programs. You'll have to find something locally and do some googling. Maybe they even publish their success stats, unlike AA, NA, etc. That is of course a big problem, with AA sucking up all the attention and funding in the US and is going to be hard if you are currently in a bad place anyway, I know. I know a few organisations in my area, as I have some contact with them in my role as a social worker. But that isn't going to help anybody here. Maybe there are some social services in your region where you can ask for recommendations? A good first check once you find something would probably be "do they tell me that I'm powerless and have to give myself over to god"? There are still programs that actually work and those that don't work better than placebo. Of course nothing will work for everybody, but that doesn't mean you should take the low odds.
  14. How does that even happen, btw.? Trevor only gave away his pants in his hero move, not his underwear. Was he jsut straight up not wearing any? Didn't we actually see him wearing underwear during that scene? I'd have to rewatch...
  15. Except that's not what happened. They all pretty quickly came to the conclusion that leaking videos and photos against somebodies wishes wasn't cool, way before they knew Keeley was a victim. What they were discussing for a while was if they should delete videos and photos on their own phones, because they maybe possibly could be hacked in the future. Here learning that Keeley was a victim made that descision easier. (also let me tell you, if those phones have cloud backup, deleting the material does nothing, those companies hold on to data like the devil holds on to souls).
  16. The only acceptable statement to make would be: "I'm a sexually active woman and of course me and my boyfriend at the time were also sending sexual videos to each other. Whoever these hackers are, they can suck my dick!" (you could maybe word it a bit more politely, but that should be the jist) That Jack wanted Keeley to put out that sex-negative bullshit really disgusted me and I was sad when Keeley asked her if she was coming back. I wish she had had the strength in that moment to say "Good riddance. Stay gone!"
  17. Pete: "Uh, I bet he [the Beholder] used his ray of disintegration." Yeah, of course he did Pete. The Beholder may have many rays but the disintegration ray is pretty much the most powerfull and a signature move. Thor is clearly a massive troll. Pretending not to remember what a car is called, etc. I guess you have to pass the time somewhow.
  18. The point is not to do it alone, the point is to find an organisation that actually has a better success rate than doing it alone. Which AA doesn't qualify for. I'm glad it worked for you, but statistically it doesn't work better than doing it alone. I think it is important to raise awerness of that fact, because a lot of addicts probably don't know that and blame their continued failure on themselves, rather than the ineffective program they are part of. This misconception of AA having statistically significant sucess is even so far spread that judges will order people to take part in meetings. That's not even going to mention that it's clearly a religious cult.
  19. You come from a time when nobody would have ever heard about this, because the studio would have swept it under the rug. Not to mention all the other blatant crime and immorality everybody just turned a blind eye to. Companies delete all negative comments on their trailers as a matter of course. I personally like her, well like to hate her. When you google her you can see that she has been played by 10 actresses, across live action and animated TV shows and films. So I'd say the character is pretty prolific in DC.
  20. Somebody should tell these "writers" what the word 'debunk' means. English is my second language and I know that's not what it means. Also basically they'll keep Peacemaker and crew, Waller and maybe Aquaman. Everything else gets reset. I don't think Waller has an age limit. She doesn't do anything particularly physical. As long as it's believeable that her mind is still sharp, Viola Davis can play Waller. Tbh, now might be the exact right moment for the DCEU to try and make a comeback. Because Marvel has been really shit lately and seems to be getting shittier with every movie and show (GOTG3 probably excluded, we'll see). I mean, what else is she going to say? I loved GOTG, The Suicide Squad was okay. Peacemaker is also great. But I think James Gun shines with constraints and a low(er) budgets. I really don't think he will be good at running an entire universe. Maybe he'll prove me wrong. I mean they didn't knowingly hire a criminal. That movie has been in production for so many decades, that most of the original filming was done before all of Miller's crimes came to light. If the studio had known, they wouldn't have hired him. All his other films have been cancelled and he's not going to play the flash after this movie either. DC is just desperate at this point. They need this movie to reboot their universe and don't know what else to do.
  21. I guess I can't relate because in that case I use my imagination of what I'd do with that man (also gay) and a photo of him in clothes would just distract me. But I might not be typical in that regard. There is that no-fap thing on reddit. Years ago I read into it, out of morbid curiosity and one of their big things is that the "extreme scenarios in porn will alter your brain" and all I could ever think was "oh please, porn is extremely tame compared to my imagination". So I might just have a particularly vivid imagination... at least where these things are concerned. Might also be a bit TMI, but I just binged season one of human resources and after watching 10 episodes of hormon monsters, this seems like nothing. :D Anywho, good to know that there might have been a good reason for George to use that photo.
  22. I don't even care that these movies are just an excuse for Adam Sandler to go on vacation for free. They are fun. That ending doesn't make much sense. The pilot was the one who gave them the money. He could have just kept it for himself, instead of stealing it in the helicopter and then jumping out. I mean what if they had decided to just take the money and fly home? But oh well, it makes for a good stinger for the next movie.
  23. Very low is a bit of an understatement. AA doesn't have a better success rate than people just deciding to quit and doing it on their own. So in medical terms that would be "doesn't work better than placebo". The thing is there are programs out there that do have better success rates than placebo, so if you already had relapses with AA, maybe try one of those, before doing again and again what clearly doesn't work for you and beating yourself up because of it? I would hope that a doctor would know about the statistics of AA and other programs and as you said, TV should probably try to educate people, instead of promoting a cult.
  24. "You were okay sending me back to certain opoid addiction" 🙄 This show. You are not going to get physically addicted to opiods in a few days. If you are an addict of course there is always a chance of psychological dependence, but it's a lot lower if you are in pain and doctors are just giving you a level of drugs that makes you not die, because guess what, it's not going to be pleasent. Of course dude believes in AA, so he might believe in all kinds of other bullshit. Also these "doctors" are too dumb to know that the first course of action always has to be securing the crash site, so what did I expect?
  25. Yeah I get that. Doesn't change that this was too much and really forced at times. Quirky and weird is not fun if it feels like a checklist somebody is working through rather than something organic.
