I don't recall anytime I've ever seen a funeral on tv for someone who's been cremated.  I only ever see an urn at someone's house for shock value or something funny.

Have you managed to miss the ever popular scattering of the ashes so that they go all over whoever is in the scene?  Recently seen in The White Lotus.

As a general comment, this sort of vibe is also why I'm not thrilled with Amy Schumer, Delevigne, and some of the other stunt-like casting. These elements, like Sting and Jane Lynch last season, veers into the show being a vehicle for a bunch of Hollywood people having a good time for the hell of it, rather than the show being a vehicle for storytelling (yes, even as a comedy). But then, I like dramedies and murder mysteries, and I'm not here for anyone in the cast, so my mileage probably varies.

Did you feel the same way about Amy Ryan and Nathan Lane last season?  Or Shirley MacLaine this one?  The show has always been full of stunt casting - even the lesser lights, like Bunny, are pretty well known actors, mostly from the stage so not Hollywood.

Oscar didn't show up last season until the fourth (?) episode or so.  Let's have a little faith that he'll be back.  I, for one, was yelling "Don't kiss her Mabel, she's too skinny!"

  3. My kids friends called me Mrs. LastName until they came of age and the ones I still see now call me by my first name.

I have a lot of first cousins and when we were very young the families would get together for vacations.  My dad was a funny guy and the life of the party always.  One time one of the youngest kids came running in, turned to him in confusion, and called him Uncle Daddy Bill.  It was his name forever more.

  4. I wasn't asking for a whodunnit.  I'm asking for the police work that identified Ron and Dan as the murderers and brought them to justice to be recognized.

Andrew Garfield's character is fictional.  I assume that the real police refused to have their names be used.  To focus so much on fictional detectives and their "revelations" about the church, seems to do a disservice to the victim of the crime.

You could make a great drinking game out of this - take a sip every time someone says "heavenly Father"

  5. I haven't seen the whole thing, but I don't recall being so annoyed watching a show ever.  It seems like they have abdicated showing anything basic about solving the case using policework for a fictional backstory about the fictional lead cop.  We just finished the 5th episode - where's the fingerprint analysis?  an APB for the other brothers?  showing suspect photos to Alan?  Anything?

How many ranting monologues does Rory Culkin get to deliver?  We're up to two different hide out cabins in the wilderness for the Lafferty boys.  I'm sure all the sister wives will show up next episode.  Why don't Andrew Garfield's clothes fit?  How many pensive stares into the distance do we have to watch?

Almost every scene is twice as long as it needs to be.  This could have been a nice tight four episode show, but it's self-indulgent and it shows.  Where's the murder board when you need it?

  6. The Senoreatas also got a big boost from selling the most specials, even though they were tied with the South African gals.

Couldn't one of the EOS team, who always have their hair pulled back and covered with bandanas, take one over to Senoreatas and show them how to use it?  I'm not advocating hair nets, but the one woman is not hygenic.

  7. Watched some of this yesterday.  We were eating dinner and the radiation burn segment started....

It was clear that the people who made the dramatic series about Chernobyl had seen some of this.  The men scraping the graphite over the edge of the reactor was very similar to what they put together.

  8. I figured they were already married, but wanted a romantic beach setting.  Otherwise her dress would have been boxed instead of getting wadded up in her suitcase.  Personally, I would have asked Glen to go to a spot with a spectacular view, and get married on the boat at sunset.  Eliminates the sand and other people factors.

I haven't seen anything with Paul Reiser since Mad About You, and what a great re-introduction! He was awesome as the Legend!

I wonder what the stories are behind all the supes and drug addiction.  Just having nothing to do with too much fame and fortune leading to excess?

Paul Reiser is also in Stranger Things and the Kominsky Method.

This seemed like the episode where everyone got called by their first name, not their Supe name.  Maeve called Homelander John and he objected.

I know a lot of terrible stuff is happening here, but do you know the real crime? Will’s bowl cut, it hurts my eyes. Joyce, I know your busy, but take that poor child to a hair appointment as soon as possible.

I'm late to the party, but I agree 100%.  Why she doesn't have those kids in therapy is another big question.

So your name is Eleven and you're on the run as Jane?  Why wouldn't you go for Ellen or Elaine so that your friends calling you El don't have to explain why?

  11. Maybe they should wear black helmets and sell honey candy that you have to eat really fast.

It's like they've cast all the "we're not here to make friends" types and nobody else.   Obviously Lime Truck told a bunch of people to come and not patronize any trucks other than them.  Their five minutes of fame are long gone.

  12. I loved the moment with the artist when both Marcus and Ava admitted that their lives existed for their work.  That's sure not true about Deborah!  She's driven by her career, but has a family, shopping, fishing, and black jack in addition to her work.

I'll be happy if I never have to hear him addressed as "Mr Jeff" again.

I actually loved that.  Probst is famous for giving nicknames to people, what he calls you is somehow a sign of significance.  Jonathan calling him Mr. Jeff gave it right back to him.
