If I remember correctly, natural black hair is A LOT harder to maintain for an all day football game than wearing a wig. So many DCC prefer the wig to natural hair maintenance. And then there are extensions. Darian, Briana, Jacie all wore extensions on the field. Jacie has taken a more pro-natural hair stance post DCC but in an interview she did she said she didn't know she had the option to wear natural hair.

No the Victoria weight discussion is still on Pluto last I saw. Any editing like that would be new. Wow. I like Victoria fine and all, but it does seem like she gets special treatment. I don't think they would have done that for any other DCC/TCC.

Announced retirements are: McKenzie, Darian, Chandi, and Kelcey. There is a lot of speculation around all the "bubble" 4th years retiring together. Darian had made a comment in an IG video that they were all retiring except for 1 or maybe 2. 3rd year speculation is Jensen and maybe Kleine. It seems like the past couple years we didn't know for sure until auditions. I much prefer the years when football season would end and a DCC would post their retirement, no veil of secrecy. Victoria, KayDianna, Kelee, Zoe, and Reece have all said they are returning.

Yes, Kelli's dog was Sugar. Sugar passed away sometime this past year.

What? Really? I swear I saw her with that dog post break up. UGH.

And more baby news. Congrats to former DCC Ashlee and her husband! Baby Asher born the end of November.

Two updates that I don't think have made it over to PrimeTimer yet: Former DCC Erin had her baby girl, a preemie, sometime in November. Welcome Lucy Layne! Looks like she is still in the NICU but she is getting big! And this past weekend former DCC Heather O. got married. A lot of former DCC were in attendance. Congrats newlyweds!

Dolly looked unreal for 77! I bet Kelli genuinely loved it.

Kelcey, Chandi. I think both McKenzie and Jessica have stated they planned on retiring after 4 years. There will be more 4th years that retire. And at least a couple 3rd years. I think we will see at least 10 leave either for injury, retirement, or cut. I miss the days when they freely announced their retirements around the end of the football season. Now it seems like everything is tight-lipped until May auditions.

First the positive: They put all 4th and 5th years in the first two rows. I am glad they didn't do a Loni Lindsay or Cassie Trammel with choice placement over more senior vets. Now the negatives: Horrible photoshopping - especially in the second row. The very first thing I noticed was the poor photoshopping in Kelcey's row. There is no way to unsee it. Tori's height. She is always shrunken to be the height of shorties - I think this is the third year in a row her body looks disproportionate to real life. Added shadow on Zhenya's torso makes Darian's hair look messy. Jessica is in row two yet despite all the photshopping they didn't fix her knee. She was clearly standing with a bent knee in the photo they chose and they just cut the rest of her legs off. Lea, Tori, and KayDianna - they used their cameo photos! (Edit - on second look that is not KD's cameo photo since her torso is torqued to the side. The facial pose is near identical in both photos). Kally, Reece, and Mckenna - Their hair all looks connected in chain like a jump rope. Boring placement - I agree with the sentiment they should have placed Kelcey and Chandi like they did in 2021 where Gina and Lexie split the middle as 5th years. It would make for a more visually interesting photo. TPTB - Puhlease bring back a real time group photo. This is year 4 of this nonsense! We have no show, and your photoshopped group photos look bad.

Tyra was my favorite rookie in 2021, but I can't see TPTB letting her back on the team. They are all about fresh faces and dancers that fit a stepford wives mold. Thankfully, I don't think she has much interest in attempting a DCC comeback. I could see her doing something else in the professional dance world.

Congratulations to former DCC Jenna and her husband who got married yesterday on Oahu. Many former DCC as bridesmaids and/or in attendance.

Former DCCs Maddie and Savannah helped Daphne choose the new cheer team for Pepperdine.

I had a feeling she wasn't done dancing, and we would see her again on other teams.

I have really fallen down the Jenna wedding rabbit hole now, but from her registry it looks like she has eleven bridesmaids: Former DCCs Erica, Tara, and Cersten. And Former TCCs, Emily Villarreal, and Mel Park. The other six I am not sure if they have a DCC or D-town crew connection or not. I am curious if it was supposed to be on Maui? Edit: Major wedding rabbit hole here but it looks like Jenna had to move her wedding from Maui to Oahu at the last minute. Tori's placement is puzzling everyone, as is Karley's. I thought Jessica shined last season. But there were only 6 middle to front triangle spots that were vacated (Caroline, Jalyn, Ashlee, Kat, Tyra, and Marissa) so it makes sense there was little movement this year. A lot of DCC were assigned their same spots or very close to their old spot. With more retirements expected next season, I bet several vets will take some giant leaps forward.

I think all 36 went to Mexico with some staff for team bonding. They came home for a day then 16 went to Oxnard. The Oxnard 16 are: Kelcey, Chandi, McKenzie, Claire, Jada, Dani, Darian, Victoria, Megan, KayDianna, Kelee, Tori, Ashlinn, Kally, Kylie, Sophy Armani should be there. I haven’t heard a reason why she missed it.
