  1. Never change, Sara! Asking why the young girlfriends of much older celebrities don’t use birth control - kinda defeats the purpose, doncha think? Then the discussion re platonic friends - turns out Asunción has a male bestie she met in law school, but as we know, Ol’ Manny better not befriend a female coworker.
  2. For once, a reunion where T. doesn’t look like a greasy piece of burnt bacon! Her skin is lovely in a more natural colored, more matte state, and what a great change in hairstyle, very flattering - sooo tired of all the looong hair on 50 year olds. Could it be that her new sisters-in-law classed her up a bit? Too bad about her mouth😉, but at least it wasn’t her usual, over glossy horror. And it doesn’t matter who tipped off the feds - could even have been any of the viewers, really. If there was no evidence of fraud, T wouldn’t be the embarrassment to her daughters that she knows she is, as ExConMom. No, T didn’t go “away” or to “camp,” she went to jail - but courtesy of Bravo and the odd national sympathy for crooks, she managed to collect much more than $200!
  3. And now for the superficial, for which I am well known- Sunny looked good today with the shorter hair. Is it rooted or a piece-any bets?
  4. All my memories of pettiness from Nicole Wallace on “The View” have been wiped by her usually amazing, super empathetic and intelligent work anchoring “Deadline: White House.” Am also starting to appreciate Alyssa a bit more as she appears on CNN, usually acquitting herself quite well.
  5. Real housewife, 30 is a mere babe - enjoy it while it lasts😉
  6. I also must use closed captioning and am so over their sanitization - of course, that’s (slightly) better than the all too prevalent no captions!
  7. Wrong, rest easy😉. I heard big FLAT ass, as Danielle or another of these charming “ladies “ had thus insultingly described Marg’s rear previously.
  8. Every time they showed those dancers, I was weirded out - were they kids, overly and badly made up, a la Toddlers & Tiaras? Or maybe Little People? Or teens to adults, caught at a foreshortened camera angle? Great dancing, but…
  9. Gemma Violet, as a humble pensioner with a modest income, I’m on that particular skin care program myself😉, & it’s working quite well! Have to add that much as I admire Rita Moreno, I felt her awards story was TMI - & of course potty mouth Whoopi loved it and wanted to hear MORE🙄 To each her own.
  10. Martha is naturally beautiful, and as a former model, with about 40 years as a rich celebrity, she has a huge head start on most women wrt her appearance and its maintenance. Photoshop, picture angle, and doubtless plenty of cosmetic tweaking probably were important to SI’s final product. Have heard in the past that Martha has long practiced yoga, Pilates, and obviously, followed a healthy, home - grown/cooked diet. But have also heard that Martha was on extended bad terms with her only child, had a tumultuous relationship, ending in a vicious divorce, with her husband (who then married one of Martha’s most valued employees), and that she was notoriously ambitious, imperious and self-centered. So maybe it’s easier to focus on one’s looks and following a healthy lifestyle if other people and their needs aren’t overwhelmingly important to you. And, Joy, I love you, and you’re also very youthful in appearance, but you’ve often touted your Botox use, so sun avoidance hasn’t been your only complexion help.
  11. Well, my generation def learned in public school that GW “could not tell a lie,” from the cherry tree fable😉. We (older boomers in a SW state) never heard about his slaveowner status and barely about Jefferson’s, and were taught that the Cilvil War (#1) was about cotton, so disagree with Bill’s blanket woke condemnation.
  12. Speaking of Joy, wasn’t she the one who referred to Kaitlin Collins as “the girl?” Hate to have a guy on the show use that term about a female, 30 year old journalist! Equally offensive (and again, maybe I’m mistaken), didn’t Sara say the 70 - 85 year old, award-winning actresses were “adorable?” Can we try not to patronize the elderly? Might have to give someone a rap with my cane if it continues.
  13. Doesn’t hormone replacement therapy result in a pseudo period? Could be Sunny’s on H R T. Or maybe like me, just a laggard, who menstruated naturally till age 54. It kept me relatively unwrinkled for a while, but possibly contributed to my breast cancer 7 years later- can’t win ‘em all, and am now, very fortunately (thank you mammogram!), many years later alive to tell the tale.
  14. Athousandclowns, I thought Keaton’s comment was becuz she’s nervous and ditsy, at least per public persona. And I agree that many of the most hyped movies disappoint. Jane Fonda has never looked better, imo, and she’s much the oldest of the 4 actresses, at 85 - must be nice to have the $$$ for plenty of “work.” I read she had her first face lift in her forties, a 2nd (? call me skeptical) at 75, then a neck and chin lift - but she doesn’t wanna talk about it. OK, Jane. The other actresses, somewhat amazingly, are 8 to 15 years younger than Fonda. I admire her (privileged) lifetime of activism, but can’t help wondering if she’d be in such demand for roles in her 80’s if she were less tweaked.
  15. Love it when Whoops gives parenting advice, this time to A. Cohen. Have heard that W’s daughter, Alex, was largely raised by grandma, before becoming a mom herself at 16. Much more recently, it was sad, imo, that Whoops, after acknowledging her daughter’s birthday (Monday?) could then compliment her only on her looks. Alex is now 50 and several times a mom, but Whoops could find nothing substantive to say about her, even in planned remarks.
  16. Re pressing issue of underwear on vacay, have none of these over-privileged ninnies heard about washing ones’s unmentionables in the hotel sink, then drying ‘em on the shower rod (or whatever?) And ugh, I knew Whopps eschewed bras, but she goes commando, too? TMI, especially with all her toilet talk.
  17. Why didn’t the panel wait until more info was available before discussing current “knowledge” about this subway tragedy? Apparently (and rightfully) the death is under investigation, and more video is expected. Imo, Joy (with whom I usually agree) repeatedly attempted to drum up sympathy by referring to the deceased man as a “kid” - but he was 30 years old. More correctly deemed a “kid” would be the 24 year old ex-Marine. Anyone using a choke hold today must be lacking in the wisdom that should come with maturity - but actions taken by citizens in believed (if not actual) crisis shouldn’t be judged by the standards we apply to professional law enforcement officers.
  18. It’s history now, of course, but despite her flighty Ho’wives persona, Teresa was found guilty of fraud on HER own merits. She had adequate legal representation and was not considered mentally incapable. She may not have had all the deets on docs Joe wanted her to sign, but that was her, possibly willing, mistake. She is demonstrably, normally capable, attended college, worked as a Macy’s buyer ( once quite a competitive position ), has raised academically proficient kids, has apparently made the required financial restitution for HER CRIMES, and shows that crime does pay, as she continues to bring in big bucks portraying a dullard on TV. Or are we the dimwits?
  19. Ha - in this case (that Sun looks good in everything), I tend to reluctantly agree.
  20. Which is why I think Jen A. looks best in her classy blue gown. Better to look “old” and elegant than immature, desperate, whorish or ridiculous, imo.
  21. Since you introduced it, please explain your ‘s use - I wanna know! Seems it’d be correct to simply state, “I remembered Whoppi saying…” - but what do I know? And I agree, Sunny was dripping superiority re the bus driver bit, but redeemed herself later with Ari Melber on “The Beat.”
  22. Come on-n-n, TravelingLady, doncha remember when Whoops told us that one of her issues was she’d get involved in a project and forget to eat?? I have that problem, too 🙄. I do have to say that I enjoyed Whoopi’s favorite Mom’s Day things - very refreshing to see actual Walmart items on offer (extra points if my kid gives me a filled bracelet flask this year. ) With all our seemingly endless special occasions, love me a good gag gift.
  23. Asunción wears more flattering ( and imo, often more suitable for evening) dresses regularly on The View, then chooses this bag for a big night - I don’t get it.
