Sorry to answer so late; I just found this topic. Your term "full custody" should answer the question. Kim is an equal parent; she's equally responsible for the kids' "maintenance." Barry doesn't need child support," their kids do. Kim danced skipped out on their everyday care. How does that earn her a free ride? Courts usually decide on the basis of responsibility, income, and assets. Still... even if Barry were a billionaire, Kim isn't absolved of her legal/financial responsibilities--not to mention the moral responsibility of a parent. Kim seems very lucky: a "TV star" who lives in a palatial houseboat (alone... haha). Gets up when she wants to. Cooks if she wants to. No nagging man or kids wanting her attention and pancakes. No child support because Barry has a job.

And that's the way he EXPECTS life to be. Keep searchin', Ethan. Keep searchin'.

I really wanted to start with that sentence above (see BOLDING), but your description of Kim just before it deserves to be shown again (and again*). Kim's lipstick application has bothered me since Day One. It's truly difficult for me to give credit to her for her self-assurance. There are so many areas that seem to need improvement, but she seems extremely happy with every ounce of herself. Apparently she found a second man who agrees. (Her hair is very nice.) I've wondered if Moriah's pathetic lipstick auditions are a subliminal attempt to Kim. There have been times when Moriah is on my screen that I can't see anything but LIPS! See the lips but can barely hear her tiny little-girl voice. Poor thang has looked trashy since at least Season Two (maybe Season One). She looks so young, fresh-faced and vulnerable in the most recent episodes. Pleae! Can some talented soul put together a LOOK for her that will work for daily life and that she can handle? Can't wait to see that music video...especially the choreography. *wet turd that's been left on the side of the road.

I'm with CHALBY on this one. For me, it's not "pretty clear" that she's "quite materialistic. I don't consider that she's "bragging" about her overseas travel. She's on a television show AND has her own photography business--mostly weddings. Why wouldn't any of us take advantage of free TELEVISION advertising--and casually mention that we've been hired for weddings that require "overseas travels"? As for "Very Expensive Cities" ... Huge cities like Los Angeles have rents from affordable to astronomical. And hostels are all over L.A.. She's also "followed" by the cameras, so Production has something to say (location and finances) about where she travels, lives, visits, etc. I get the feeling they like her.

I'm in the Phoenix area and visited D.C. once--for that JonStewart/Stephen Colbert outdoor show years ago. A favorite cousin (also visiting) gave up his beautiful ARLINGTON "guest quarters" for my adult son and me. As far as we could see, DC is Arlington and Arlington is DC. ALSO...on Brendan's business page...the photo of Brendan and two females. Those smiles appear to be from three siblings. What do YOU think?

I agree with you on Barry regarding Olivia ... and that may be the TRUE Barry. Otherwise, I've felt compassion for him. Oops.."compassion," maybe that's what he lacks. Your use of "glee" is just perfect.

Awww...Surfgirl. I always kinda liked Barry. He seemed like meek husband who really liked those kids. I was happy that he had job away from Queen Kim and made enough to support her whims. He'd have time to himself on the long drive to/from work--and then see other humans who raised their children (hopefully) in the real world. I wish he were cuter; he might have more fans (and LADIES!!). I Hasn't he always behaved very well with everyone (maybe not Olivia...but he was under Kim's thumb at the time); wish we'd see some of that worthless human Kim thinks he is. He does hold man-woman beliefs that I can't accept.

It will be a PLATH (even though DNA will prove otherwise when the show is canceled), because Kim (still yolked to Barryy) just cain't agree to all the financial aspects of their property settlement. Every little plan she makes costs someone money ...and never works out. She's a user and her victims are getting harder to find. And SHE cannot even pretend to be pleasant??? (Barry, hold on to your bank accounts and investments; don't let her get more than she deserves.)

TRUE! Kim probably equates size with strength...Soft, lumpy Ken vs. Lean, fit, and WORKS OUT EVERY DAY Barry (who always seems like a pacifist*). *Otherwise, how could he have lasted in the marriage with HER?

If you'd written that she's 32, I'd have believed it. The romance was probably at its best when it was long-distance. Will she be satisfied with a husband who builds fences...occasionally?

If Veronica IS older (and I believe she is), she's the WRONG older woman for him. He needs someone who's interested in spending time with him for enjoyment, but also helping to create the (perhaps) kind and sophisticated man he could be. Hey! Maybe that could be a spin-off show for Micah. Like a reverse "My Fair Lady." He sure is cute, but he doesn't have a clue.

This might be the "part" Production suggested when they gave her the new contract. And his current "first love" won't be able to help him with anything. She's more shallow...and quite cunning.

Just another pathetic cry for attention from Kim. SHE hired/paid for the dunk tank. She old balls for $5 each. It was another "birthday gift" for Lydia. Lydia may have come out better if Kim had simply given her the money spent on the rental. Some kids did seem to enjoy trying to dunk their mother; others, not so much.
