  1. I think I heard the safety officer’s real explanation: “There’s a big storm coming and that might make this show interesting to watch. We can’t have that. No way, not at all. So pack your stuff.”
  2. Yes. They should just skip the boring “challenges” that everyone breezes through, but that would leave only the nonsensical yammering about who to vote out. The show is such an empty vessel.
  3. Good lord, these people are idiots. Do they not even want the money? “You’re most likely to haul our fat asses to the top, so I’m voting you out.”
  4. I wish no one had said anything about those two idiots eating the stick of butter. Just let them sit there waiting for someone to ask about it and feeling stupid when no one does. What a couple of superficial, attention seeking plasticized nitwits.
  5. Corona dresses like a clown and acts like a child. … I was going to say more about the rest, but nah, these people are all gross.
  6. I'm starting to feel bad for Jane Wickline. She appears in almost nothing, and when she does, she's so stiff and unconvincing. She strikes me as that kid who wants to be part of what's going and the other kids don't dislike her, but when they try to let her join in the fun she just brings the whole thing down.
  7. Veah is using her ex like an emotional support dog she can't be separated from because she might need him at any moment. She explained to Sonny that the ex can't go home because "You threatened to break up with me!" So if Sonny breaks up with her (which he absolutely should do), Veah wants to be able to rush to the arms of her "friend" instead of dealing with it like a grown woman. She is not well. Will her ex always have to be in the wings waiting to protect and console her? If she and Sonny get married and have kids, will that guy have to stay close just in case something goes wrong? Will he be like an emergency boyfriend mounted on the wall with "Break glass in case of sad"? And that ex is no innocent friend. The looks and attitude he gave Sonny said it all.
  8. And Loren adds disgusting, childish table manners to his many charms.
  9. I thought all of those lobster dishes looked terrible. Maybe they tasted great, but the plating was just one unappealing pile of mush after another. Gordon talked about how lobster is supposed to be presented as elegant and sophisticated, but that's not what those dishes looked like.
  10. I don't see it as desperation. She told them because it's pretty outrageous that he hasn't even kissed her yet and she didn't want to play along like everything is fine between them. She has every right to feel like he misled her and put her in an awkward situation with his friends.
  11. I was in the driveway cleaning the carburetor on my lawn mower yesterday when a helicopter appeared, hovering ominously close to me as I focused on my task. Thank goodness I was able to hang on and get the job done.
  12. Guy in kayak: "I'm sure glad it's not another task involving heights! I'm tired of those and I'm sure the audience is too!" Trapper Keeper voice-over: "The next challenge is ziplining over a 10,000-foot high gorge."
  13. Awww, Teeny kicks my paternal instincts into overdrive. I don’t like to see her cry.
  14. I have no inside information, but I'd bet that just off camera there is one of those nice portable restroom trailers like you see at outdoor weddings and such. Or at least a few basic porta potties. They've softened the game so much with extensive wardrobes, easy water to drink, precut bamboo, etc. that I really doubt they leave the contestants to fend for themselves in the ocean when it comes to relieving themselves. Kinda doubt the Fijian government would appreciate people just going number two in the ocean either. (Huge ocean, small amount of waste of course, but still...)
  15. Kudos to you for doing the right thing for your son. Been there, and it's not always easy. But I don't think I understand how Sean is kind and thoughtful about someone's kids. Up to this episode, he we perfectly willing to have his new wife leave her children behind in the U.S. I'm sure he wouldn't do the same to his daughter, but he didn't care about her sons and was surprised that their feelings might even have to be considered. (If you meant that sarcastically, then my mistake and I agree.)
  16. “I’d rather have my mom in the same country.” That’s heartbreaking to see him struggling to say what he knows is not what his mother wants to hear. Mom comes to her senses finally, but she still told her kids she was willing — no, eager and excited! — to leave them behind. That is damaging even if she doesn’t go through with it in the end. She and the head tattoo boyfriend are not selfless enough to be good parents.
  17. The grow your own mushroom kits already exist and look almost identical to the monthly starter block he'll sell you for $31. I tried a couple of them a few months ago, just as a lark. You order the kit, mist it with water ever day or so, and it grows mushrooms. I think I paid about $20 to $30 each for two different varieties. You don't need a $400 contraption to put it in. It just sits on your kitchen counter in the box it's packaged in (with pre-made holes you open to let the mushrooms emerge). It was novel and kind of fun to watch them grow, with one kit producing a fairly good amount of mushrooms and the more expensive kit producing almost none. Even when they produce a good amount of mushrooms, you've paid a big premium for the joy of watching them grow. I decided one experience was enough. The guy is very scammy. I don't think he will ever deliver one of those devices and he went on Shark Tank hoping the monthly subscription model would get the sharks all eager to jump in. He would have taken their money and run off to some tropical country with no extradition agreement.
  18. No chance of that happening with this bunch. You have to slap them in the face with the idol as they're laying around camp, while screaming "This is a hidden immunity idol! Take it! Take it!"
  19. I wonder if all the aggression over people looking for idols is contributing to this crew seeming to be so lazy and just laying around all the time. Even when Jeff sent them off in search of that floating clue they didn't want to do it. It's silly to act like people playing the game is somehow underhanded or cause to vote someone out.
  20. Rayne keeps showing that she has very serious emotional issues and doesn't care who she hurts. The things she said to Chidi on the beach were hurtful at the level of someone going through a bitter divorce. And that's what you get from her when she's trying to woo you back? I worry for her kids. Stay strong, Sunny. Do not get sucked back into that deception with a woman who is screaming from the rooftops that she is not over her ex.
  21. How does a head chef and contestant on Hell's Kitchen say, "I've never had tortellini and don't even know what it looks like"?
  22. How did they make this show so boring?
  23. I don't understand that either. When he first arrived and she was showing off the new place, I thought, wow this gal is super rich and built an extravagant home for them. But now it seems she's not and they're both too poor to pay for a 20-person wedding? Something besides their bank accounts doesn't add up.
  24. I feel bad for Vanja. It seems like she fell prey to the worst risks in long distance, online dating. Bozo appears to be a real loser in his home country and even his mother and aunt acknowledge it. No job at 38, seemingly no ambition, lives at home with mom, schlubby appearance. But he must have been good at portraying himself in a different way online because Vanja is a real catch. And then, once he has snagged this beautiful American woman and made her fall in love, he's not excited about it. She travels all the way to Croatia and he brings her a potted plant he found in a dumpster, then embarrasses her terribly on the first day by publicly saying they're just friends. Plus, he resists every opportunity to be physically affectionate, even in small ways. It seems maybe Bozo was just messing around online and got himself in way too deep. Clearly he doesn't appreciate Vanja or have feelings even remotely like she has for him.
  25. $110 for a 9-piece bucket of faux chicken is $12 a piece. That's a lot just to say, “Ha ha! It really looks like chicken!” I wish they had addressed who is going to spend that much and who is going to buy it more than once after the novelty wears off. I can’t see it being more than a one time purchase, and a splurge even then. But they don’t talk about questions like that much anymore. It’s just all about the financials.
