  1. I knew I recognized her from somewhere! I love that actress, she did a great job - nice to see her in a dramatic role this time! I agree, it's a shame to drop him without at least mentioning him - at least say the character job a job elsewhere or something! It's particularly annoying since they spent time getting him to be with Grace and now they just pretend it never happened. I liked him and was hoping to see him have a greater role this season but I guess no such luck! Sigh.
  2. Did anyone watch the season 2 premiere? I'm a bit confused about the timeline - it seems like minimal time has passed since the previous season and this one, but I'm not sure if they explained the reason for getting a new boss? I believe they said since Sinead ended up going to rehab the new interim charge nurse was Damien but other than her there was no "head boss" person like this new character last season. Also, what happened to Dr. Evan Wallace (the guy Grace was into last season)? They showed him in the season 1 summary in the intro but no mention of him or Grace being in a relationship or anything. Clearly she and that undercover nurse will be a thing this season but it's weird that they had this whole storyline with them as a couple and then just dropped it with no mention at all.
  3. Thank goodness she picked Lucas! Anything else would have been unrealistic from how the season went (and really how the last 3 seasons were with him spending so much more time with her). Lucas courted her all season and deserved his happy ending. Nathan only reminded her of Jack and I'm glad she finally acknowledged that. I'm truly excited for next season to finally be something other than a love triangle.
  4. There is a Canadian version of the promo as well which shows more from the finale and also shows Rosemary saying more of that quote with a different order of images "some for a REASON (Lucas), some for a SEASON (Nathan), and some for a LIFETIME" (Elizabeth alone but in front of the Mountie office). I think if the image placement was intentional it was just to stir interest, not to hint at anything. Here's the link to the promo on their twitter: On a similar note, I definitely think the ending was to misguide us into thinking she'll pick Nathan, but she's choose Lucas in the end. It's a classic Hallmark ending. Honestly part of me thinks she doesn't deserve Lucas but after last night I mostly just want to see him get his happy ending after what he's gone through this season.
  5. After this new episode, it seems obvious to me that Lucas thinks she's still into Nathan after that hand holding scene, but in reality Nathan has already decided to move on (the previews for the next episode seem to give off more of friendship vibe). Nathan will probably end up seeing Fiona next season because the scene with Allie hinted to a possible romance. Plus it looked like she friendzoned Hickam when she was chatting with him. Lucas will be upset for most of episode 11 and Rosemary will be the one who goes missing after she falls off her horse. At some point Lucas and Elizabeth talk about Nathan and he'll (hopefully) tell her how he's feeling . Once Rosemary is found she'll talk to Elizabeth about moving on.. then she takes off her rings goes to find Lucas, they kiss, and the season ends. That's my guess based on all the promos so far! I noticed that too but I think it's a good acting choice on Chris McNally's part. I think after hearing that Nathan told her he loves her (TWICE) he became more guarded. The past few episodes they've been dating steadily, and Lucas had no reason to believe she was still into Nathan because everything she told him sounded like she was done with him. But then she said she just walked away from Nathan instead of outright rejecting him, Lucas felt like there was still no resolution to the triangle and maybe their relationship wasn't as secure as he thought. I think he's silently watching them and eventually it'll be a confrontation with Elizabeth where he finally lets it all out. The poor guy can only have so much patience when she's taking forever to make things official - he seemed heartbroken when he saw them holding hands. Regarding Abigail - the creator also said there's a surprise ending (and the finale is slightly extended by a few minutes) so I wouldn't be shocked if Abigail showed up in the last few moments. Since Lori was in prison until the end of 2020, I'm not sure how she was able to shoot any scenes especially due to COVID because they filmed on a closed set in Canada (which has tighter restrictions) earlier in the year and she wasn't allowed to leave the US at the time since she was about to go to prison. All the mentions of her make me think either they went back recently to film an extra ending scene, making the episode a bit longer, OR they're planning on bringing her back for season 9 and this was all just to prepare everyone for her return.
  6. Exactly! She doesn't know him - and he barely knows her yet says he loves her and wants her to love him back. But they have no common interests. And in this episode it's clear that her only concern is for Allie, her student, and yet he still hasn't set Allie straight about them being together. She acts like a brat when she doesn't get her way and he says he's still going to try to get with Elizabeth even though she's made it clear that she's seeing Lucas now. They're exactly the same and he's a terrible role model. Lucas literally gets better with each episode. That office scene was 🔥. And I love that they continue to progress in their relationship. She's definitely falling for him and wants more. Unfortunately from the promo I think Lucas is going question their relationship and step back once he finds out what exactly she said to Nathan after he declared his love. And then it'll be up to Elizabeth to make a move. Meanwhile Nathan will try to get in with her but I really don't think she'll go for it after this reveal. Why would you want to be with the guy who essentially is the reason why her husband is no longer with her? It's weird enough that he's continuing to pursue her after revealing that. I think that bit of back and forth will be the "don't think it's over yet" part of the triangle they keep teasing but in the end I think it's definitely leaning in Lucas' favor now.
  7. I think I would actually enjoy that triangle way more! 😅
  8. Seriously, if Elizabeth doesn't want a man like him I'll take him! 😂 Maybe Fiona would appreciate him more, she deserves a guy who would give her all the love and sweet gestures!
  9. Lucas came to ask Elizabeth to go for a drive and brought a gift for her to give to Allie and Nathan. She said she didn't want him to have any secret sorrows over PDA so she asked him to walk her home and they held hands, very sweet and definitely had Jack/Elizabeth vibes. Then Clara was getting her dress hemmed in the shop and Jesse was mad about it (no sure why he thinks he gets a say in her dress length) and they both storm off. Christopher picks up flowers Jesse threw aside and gives them to Rachel then he goes to Henry's office and Henry asks Mike to teach Christopher all about the oil business since he's here to stay. Then cut to Ned and Florence. So pretty much uneventful except for the N/L handholding scene lol. This is what I'm worried about - somehow justifying her decision to be with Nathan by ruining Lucas' character or making up some excuse related to Jack that makes her think he's such a wonderful guy she suddenly loves. Personally I wouldn't want to be with a guy who has a strong connection to my late husband (not as a Mountie but if he had any involvement in Jack's death even indirectly) - it would be like replacing him with a poor substitute, just trying to recreate that relationship she had with Jack. I think Elizabeth and Nathan definitely look more like a "classic Hallmark couple" together and personality-wise they also make sense - but his temperament is what makes me dislike him for her. No woman should settle for a grown man who acts like a surly teenager. If he was more light-hearted and actually shared interests with Elizabeth (not just parenting) I would see him as real competition for Lucas. And yes Kevin McGarry and Kayla Wallace (Nathan & Fiona) are dating IRL. Judging from interviews I've seen with them they're definitely not like their characters! He actually seems more outgoing than Chris McNally (Lucas) IRL, but they both seem like great guys. If only Nathan were more like Kevin he would deserve Elizabeth.
  10. I remember her having this actual conversation with Clara right before her wedding - Clara was upset about her vows because she was remembering her first husband (Abigail's son) and Elizabeth said if she could go back knowing what she knows now and how it would all turn out with Jack, she would still choose to love him because their time together was so special even though it was short. So I guess that could be good news for Nathan but then again, her love for Jack doesn't necessarily equal her potential feelings for Nathan. She might say that regarding Jack but it doesn't mean she would feel that same way about Nathan.
  11. Right! And I think we saw a bit of that in the first couple of episodes this season - Lucas said his jealousy got the best of him and skipped town, only to return and immediately apologize to Elizabeth for not saying goodbye. Then he told her he just wanted her to be happy and stepped back after he saw her walking to dinner with Nathan, assuming that was a rejection and only really speaking to her about his mother. He didn't attempt to win her back and "not give up" like Nathan did because he was trying to be respectful of her choices.
  12. Believe it or not I actually read a comment from a Nathan fan who criticized Lucas for telling Elizabeth that Gustav would clean up the dinner plates - apparently "real life is messy and involves cleaning dishes" so they should have shown them cleaning up afterwards instead of having a private chef come pick it up later, because that's just not what life is about. Like seriously? I understand they won't always have a chef waiting on them but this is a DATE - it's okay for Lucas to tell her to not worry about cleaning up! Isn't the whole point of courtship to impress/pamper the girl/guy? When Jack set up their first date in the café he had her STUDENTS waiting on them - and it was all very sweet, so that was okay then but when it's an employee that Lucas is paying it's not okay? If they had kept the date in the saloon Gustav would have cleaned up after them, so why not now? The logic behind their complaints about Lucas is completely ridiculous.
  13. Exactly! As of this point in the story, it makes no sense for her to choose Nathan just because "that's where her heart is" as many Team Nathan fans have said. He hasn't done anything to prove himself to her. No true romantic gestures, no common interests or connections other than them both raising kids alone. Wanting to have kids and a family is an important thing, but Lucas has also mentioned wanting to start a family and has shown interest in little Jack multiple times so that's not a good argument against him. Lucas has gone out of his way to make Elizabeth happy - started a library, gotten tickets to her favorite author's reading, even moving their date to her home to make her more comfortable and close to her son. These are things that most modern women would appreciate in a guy and just show how much he cares. Instead Nathan's fans hold those things against Lucas, as if romantic gestures are too good and "fancy" and make Lucas a bad suitor. The most "romantic" things Nathan has done is tell Elizabeth that he "cares about her" and blurting out randomly (and quite prematurely) "I'm in love with you!" Any modern women these days would run for the hills just like Elizabeth if a guy told them that before they've even had a date or even spent literally any quality alone time together.
  14. If I remember correctly I believe New Year, New Me was the original title of the film when it was supposed to air at the end of 2019. When they rescheduled it to premiere this year instead they changed the title to A New Year's Resolution. The On Demand menu might have some sort of mix up from the original title.
  15. I really enjoyed A New Year's Resolution - of course I'll always watch anything with Michael Rady in it! I think he and Aimee had good chemistry and I think the fact that they started liking each other from the beginning (like her making the first move with her number right after meeting) was nice to see since in most Hallmark movies the leads tend to have a love/hate relationship going on (or something related to getting a business deal/account) so this felt a bit different from the usual Hallmark formula in a good way. The conflict seemed a bit randomly thrown in though, I feel like it could have been set up a bit better from the beginning because it didn't seem very high stakes at all and it was slightly anti-climactic. His hair seemed different to me too! I'll have to rewatch to see if it was the color that was off. Lol the rare Hallmark movie with a mid-movie kiss, scandalous! I was glad to see they actually referred their relationship as "dating" to other people because it's always frustrating in these films when the characters are like "we're hanging out, we're competitors/rivals/friends" and then suddenly they're in love and ready to get married by the end. This one was way more realistic and I think that's what set it apart from other Hallmark movies. Or maybe I've just seen too many reused formulaic Christmas movies this year and the bar is low in comparison, lol.
  16. Last season ended with Douglas and Poppy realizing they had feelings for each other - it definitely had more of a season finale feel. I think last year they weren't sure they would get a season 2 so they wrapped things up just in case, but this year they were more confident and hopeful for a season 3. Sadly it didn't work out that way. ☹️ I wonder how much COVID-19 contributed to the cancellation? I heard that they weren't able to shoot a lot of pilots and networks just had episode scripts to go off of for series pickups. If that's the case, I would have thought they'd keep more of their current shows to avoid risking a bad pilot they'd have to cancel mid-season. The choice to cancel shows that already have a set audience is really confusing.
  17. Same here! I've been watching the Goldbergs/Modern Family/Schooled/Single Parents block for the past couple years and if I had to pick and choose which ones to renew it would not have been the Goldbergs. Modern Family had gotten tired too but at least it just ended like it should have. I wonder if Schooled would have had better ratings if they brought back more of the other Goldbergs characters (not Barry). I would have liked to find out what Adam was up to, especially since we know he ends up becoming a showrunner. He was probably in college at this point - he could have come back to talk to the students about filmmaking or something. Or maybe Lainey could have run into Murray while furniture shopping. I didn't miss the OG show characters but I wonder if that's why some of the general public didn't stick around for the show.
  18. I agree! It's tough to find a family friendly comedy these days that's just fun and entertaining to watch - no innuendos, no stressing about being too inappropriate for kids. The Goldbergs and Schooled have both been very good in this regard. I agree with others that Goldbergs has gotten tired and old - Schooled should have been given at least one more season to continue, especially now that Lainey and CB have gotten together. It would have made for so many interesting plotlines, and they could have extended the 90s nostalgia which has been very popular as of late! So many missed opportunities now 😞
  19. So glad to finally see Lainey and CB get together after a two season slow burn. Really glad she's done with Barry, who hasn't seemed to mature since the 80's in the original show. Apparently due to COVID-19 they weren't able to actually film the breakup episode before the finale, so I'm sure more went down than the rushed intro than this episode which probably would have been nice to see but I'm not too bothered by it.
  20. I've been a huge fan of the series for a long time, but every time I rewatch it now I realize how much it's a suspension of disbelief for a lot of episodes, like the random filler ones - not even including all the added kids in the Ingalls family like Albert and James/Cassandra. It always bothered me that they didn't seem to want to expand on Carrie or Grace and instead found other characters to fill those roles. By the end of the series, Grace should have been at least around 7-10 and Carrie in her preteens/early teens. They already had kids to fill in the child aspect of the show when Laura got older but instead shifted unnecessary focus to these new Ingalls kids. Albert could have been one of Laura's friends instead of her adopted brother - he could have been Cap Garland or another one of the real book characters. One thing that bothered me the most was that they had so much material from the books that could have been used for older Laura's life on the show! The Long Winter, Little Town on The Prairie, and These Happy Golden Years were my favorites from the series - I LOVED Laura and Almanzo's romance and courtship in the books and wasn't a fan of how the show flipped it around and made her pine after him when in reality he pursued her first. I think I remember reading an interview somewhere that they had to flip it because in 70s (and even now) watching an adult man pursue a young teenage girl would definitely be perceived as creepy and predatory, so it makes sense why in our more modern world they had to change things. But I think they still could have kept the essence of their courtship and at least had Almanzo truly court Laura after the Sweet Sixteen episode instead of suddenly jumping into and engagement and marriage. It would have been fun to watch their relationship grow and mature like in the books, even after Laura spent all that time chasing after him on the show.
  21. Nathan has held Jack before, in the Christening episode last season. Other than that, I don't think we've actually seen Elizabeth holding Jack around Nathan. She has however bumped into Lucas on the street holding Jack (when she went to shop for Clara's bachelorette party, he saw them and said "How are two of my favorite people doing?") and on their trip to Union City he asked about him during their picnic ("You're thinking of little Jack, aren't you?"). He also had a quick scene with him during the library's grand opening, showing him the Peter Rabbit book and then that scene in the mercantile where Jack is playing with the toys on the shelves while he discusses Elizabeth's novel with her. So she's just had more scenes with Lucas and Jack together and they've discussed him. It doesn't mean Lucas likes Jack more, just that it's been an uneven representation on the show's part, in my opinion. I would have loved to see both men having more scenes interacting with Jack since one of them will end up becoming his stepfather. I agree. I've been Team Lucas from the start, but I think either of the men would look great with Elizabeth as a couple. I don't see Lucas as a creep either because I think that "shady" storyline has passed and it was a whole season ago - Jesse used to be a "bad" guy but now he's one of the good ones. Same with Carson, everyone was suspicious of him and now he's the town doctor with no bad qualities. I think even Bill was a suspect at one point - I think I remember Jack arresting him for something. Lucas is just maybe trying a bit too hard with Elizabeth but he did say outright at their first dinner that he would work hard to win over the woman he believes to be his soulmate, so he's really been honest about literally everything this season, from Henry's business to courting Elizabeth. I've said it before but I wouldn't mind seeing Elizabeth end up with Nathan if we had a reason to root for them together. I think they need to step it up next season with Nathan if they want to make their endgame believable. It's just a TV show but from their interviews even the actors seem to want some kind of interesting material to work with. Some conflict would be nice or just some real story progression instead of filler episodes. Now that he's asked her out I hope they actually show a date between Nathan and Elizabeth or some scenes together discussing something other than Ally. Maybe even show Lucas upset with Elizabeth because he's hurt that she went to hug Nathan the day after their "non-date" in the library.
  22. Exactly, even though I didn't like him considering her a competition (something Lucas never thought her as - remember the Bachelorette party when Nathan lied to get her attention? And when Nathan pretty much told Lucas they were both competing for "the town"?) I thought he might step up his game instead of sulking the rest of the season after that. I didn't like her either and honestly, I don't understand what the point of her character was. They should have used her screen time to expand on Lee and Rosemary's current storyline instead. After Lee's accident and him realizing life is short, he should have brought up adoption and children: "life is short and we want kids so let's not wait any longer and go to Brookfield to adopt from the orphanage!" That would have been a great way to connect back to When Hope Calls as well and generate some more interest there. I can't believe we went through another season of them being childless and not even discussing other options. It's so frustrating to see her get mad at Lucas for the smallest of things that aren't actually terrible - yet Nathan can act the way he has and she still wants to be around him. It really seems she's been trying to find something wrong with Lucas as an excuse to pick Nathan. She's looking too hard for red flags on one guy when the other guy in the literal red uniform is showing all the negative signs instead.
  23. Totally agree with everyone's points on the finale. I was so surprised they added in another "non-date but really a date" with Lucas - it was crazy romantic and they had some legit chemistry in that scene, another reason to be so frustrated by the end of the episode. It made me feel even more sorry for Lucas when she went to hug Nathan - who didn't even look happy to be hugging her! I know he just lost a fellow Mountie so of course that must be emotional, but he literally had no reaction. I've said before that because I know it's what the writers have been hinting at, I wouldn't mind if Elizabeth ended up with Nathan - but if we only had a reason to root for them to be together, which we really don't have right now other than having parenting in common. Lucas was struggling with Henry and the oil business, yet still went out of his way to make things right when Elizabeth confronted him about it (which I think was a bit uncalled for - I'm glad she admitted it). Then he set up a sweet date to celebrate her book deal and then bought out Henry's business, which I'm sure he did to help the townspeople but I really think he did it in part to make Elizabeth happy. He goes out of his way every time to make her happy but even after all that, she broke his heart and went after Nathan, who took forever to ask her out and when he finally did, she didn't even answer him. You would think after she hinted to him so many times about it that she would have said yes immediately. It's so frustrating! If I were Lucas, I switch my sights to Fiona like some of you have already said. I think they'd make a great couple and she's a girl who knows what she wants - she would probably appreciate the romantic gestures a bit more. Has anyone watched the ET interview with Erin, Chris, and Kevin? It's long but really interesting - one thing they said was that last year, "Lucas got the dance but Nathan got the glance" and now this year "Nathan got the embrace but Lucas got the sad face". So I think they are trying to mirror last year. From the interview, it actually seems like the love triangle is still going on, and Chris even mentioned that Lucas was confident this year with Elizabeth but he may have to up his game next season because now he has competition. So they were acting like it's still not completely resolved (even though it's obvious she wants to be with Nathan). It makes sense because while I can see him being respectful towards her feelings and moving on, I can also imagine if there's no Christmas episode, them starting next season kind of where we left off here. Maybe Nathan is still grieving over his lost colleague so he won't have taken Elizabeth on the date yet, which may give Lucas another opportunity to continue courting her. Yes the very best part!! Susannah's attitude was so ridiculous - why would make such a long trip to see your brother if you don't even want to talk to him?
  24. Right! If they want to make the love triangle even a bit believable at least make both guys equally likable! I don't understand why she's supposed to even like Nathan at this point. What even is there to like other than the red serge he wears? It's so confusing because in all the Hallmark movies they put out where the girl and the guy don't get along at first but eventually fall in love, there's always that redeeming quality about the guy that shows he wasn't bad to begin with - he was just hiding his true self. The problem is in this case it's like he was originally great and now you realize he's hiding his bad side - it's completely reversed from what you would expect from a potential suitor for the lead character. At least Jack was still likeable even when he and Elizabeth didn't get along at first. In what world would Elizabeth NOT pick Lucas after all the effort he has put into showing her how much he cares? I know this isn't supposed to be like real life but it's a huge suspension of disbelief even for a TV show.
