  1. Health care workers still have to wear a N95 for their entire shifts. These idiots can wear them for an hour long visit. It's the least they can do to keep elderly and/or disabled residents safe.
  2. Do the pastor and other people who give them gift cards and food not do social media? If I had donated to them and then saw these posts I would be furious. That I gave some of my actually job earnings to fund this crap. Ugh.
  3. True but 2 hours is a long time for a 3 or 4 year old to sit still. I also looked at the commissary list and was surprised at how cheap the items were. They're honestly cheaper than buying things at a store. Unless the prices aren't current. It did say subject to change.
  4. I see in their visiting policies that visitors and prisoners have to wear masks during visits. I wonder how that will go over? And there are restrictions on kids visiting; if they are 4 and under they have to stay on the adult's lap throughout the visit. I hope her kids can behave that long.
  5. And I can't imagine caring more about my "freedom" than my mom. Just to prove a stupid point. Put the mask on so you can visit her. Or take her home so you can visit maskless.
  6. I think my facility normally allows up to 4 visitors at a time. My residents are all vaccinated, but we don't ask the vaccination status of visitors. Most family members tell us they're vaccinated but we don't require it or proof. We let families hug or hold hands and have for about a year. It's up to each resident and family to decide what they feel comfortable with.
  7. Speaking as nurse who works in a LTC facility, they must have been HORRIBLE to have the cops called. We just nicely tell families that they need to keep their mask on or leave. Social distancing isn't even required since visitors get screened upon arrival.
  8. JB and M probably wouldn't have wanted the hospice's social worker to come either. Who knows what he or she might have found or observed?
  9. A person/family can politely decline a visit from the hospice chaplain. At least for all the hospices I have dealt with. I have had atheist patients.
  10. It looks like the kid got sick in 4 different spots. Did they just move the child around to a dry spot each time? I always put a clean sheet on after each time my daughters threw up. Who would want to keep laying in that?
  11. My grandma had 10 kids and my great-grandma had 13. And they didn't track their fertility on the fridge or plan their honeymoons around their menstrual cycles like these people do. I asked my grandma how many kids she actually wanted to have. She said three or four, then laughed. Oops.
  12. Maybe the hospital was afraid they'd be late for an early morning induction. Since Jed and Katey probably run on "Duggar time."
  13. One of the D-I-Ls did cut a Duggar male's hair before they were married. It was in an episode. Maybe Lauren? I was surprised such close contact was allowed. The couple was probably already engaged though.
  14. Derick may just really enjoy learning. If going to college or taking classes could somehow pay my bills, I would love to be a permanent student. I definitely enjoyed going to school more than working. But realistically, the bills have to get paid. At some point, Derick needs to realize this.
  15. At least they will be able to save some money by using hand-me-down clothes and baby gear.
  16. My daughter and husband both have COVID right now. Both of them were vaxxed but not boosted. I just got my booster a month ago and so far have no symptoms. Neither of them feel too bad so I'm grateful for that. Now I'm just trying to avoid catching it. I'm a nurse and am really needed at work. I feel bad for my daughter though because she was supposed to be starting her college semester this Tuesday. I'm hoping her professors work with her about missing the first week. I'm just grateful that they both seem to be improving already.
  17. In a modest way, they do. They can exchange Christmas cards. A small practical gift may be given, Some gifts are homemade. Certainly not the gift grab that Jill celebrates.
  18. Depending on the timeline, that could be why Derick didn't pass his bar exam. That's a lot for a couple to go through.
  19. Yes, I agree. Izzy and Sam will have more opportunities for success as adults. With an education many more things are possible.. They COULD become doctors or judges or engineers. No homeschooled Duggar had this chance. But an education certainly doesn't guarantee that they will become more open minded. They can be educated and still have hateful beliefs. But I do have the most hope for them, and that is something.
  20. I have 21 and 17 year old daughters, and neither one of them would wear them. And they both wear glasses. Perhaps they're more trendy in Texas?
  21. Her birth? Yes. Jessa had to be rushed to the hospital afterwards. Of course.
  22. My library doesn't have a physical copy or an ebook yet. My library does save ebooks to my reading history, but I have no idea if the librarians ever look at that or even have access to it. I guess I don't check out enough embarrassing stuff to care. Except the Sister Wives book. But no Duggar one.
  23. I could picture Abbie working as a private duty pediatric home health nurse. I would think that could meet the Duggar modesty standards too. I assume the Duggars consider nursing in general not appropriate because of the potential to see male genitals? I suppose a women's health clinic could be another option, but that would tie her down to a more rigid schedule.
  24. I'm sure it depends where you live, but I'm an LPN who makes about 60,000 a year. I know other LPN's in my area who make 90,000 a year. It just depends what kind of nursing you want to do and how many hours you work. She could definitely make enough to support a family in Arkansas.
