  1. I have no time for Burgess. It's not really even her fault. She just got saddled with a lot of "Rookie cop"/"total fuckup" plots despite not being total rookie when introduced (unlike Ruzek), and her other plot thread was her romance with Ruzek. Couple that with her being so much of a bleeding heart and she just came across as an incompetent who cares more about her cop boyfriend than becoming a good cop.
  2. It's a testament to how unmemorable Roman was that I was scratching my head over how Burgess could be considered a "badge bunny" after only dating one cop.
  3. I know certain people on this subforum have been knocking Peyton List's acting, but man, her horrorstruck "oh God this is awkward" face is a thing of beauty.
  4. Rixton is like 1000 times better than Ruzek, it seems. Can we keep him? Have we met Nerdy Black Records Lady before? I like her.
  5. Although Burgess (and Lindsay) passing the Bechdel test generally revolves around Lindsay talking Burgess through her various fuckups. And forget comic relief, I'd just take human shooting-the-shit moments. Like Lindsay and Ruzek talking like they're actually friends for the five seconds before everything went to shit in the last episode. I can't get over Bro Halstead(?)'s massive HIPAA violation midway through the episode.
  6. Maybe not intentionally, because Dick Wolf apparently thinks that beating confessions out of minority suspects for murder or violent crime charges is 100% A-okay.
  7. Agreed (on both counts). Would have been nicer if the black commander lady had been the one to lecture both gangs instead of Voight, a white man who also happens to be Jon Burge 2.0. Also, was the interaction between Ruzek and nerdy analytics chick supposed to be a meet cute?
  8. This show could use more casual moments, like that brief conversation between Lindsay and Ruzek.
  9. UGH, give me a fucking break with this poor missing white woman, dehumanization of black communities bullshit. And I know what show this is, but the casual police brutality portrayed positively, when the real life Chicago PD is already well known for corruption and police brutality, is pretty damn discomforting.
  10. This is... not necessarily true. Conventional security thinking is that if you know where something is, with sufficient application of force you can kill it. Fixed fortifications are extremely vulnerable to modern weapons. To go to an extreme, the NORAD command bunker at Cheyenne Mountain is hardened against nuclear strike, but it is highly unlikely that it could have survived the dozens of Soviet nukes that targeted it in the event the balloon went up on nuclear war. As posted before, there are many advantages to ushering a designated survivor POTUS onto Air Force One instead of a bunker. First is the fact that portable SAMs (called MANPADS) simply don't have the range or the speed to hit an aircraft flying at high altitude. You would need a vehicle based system, like the US PATRIOT or Russian Buk (which shot down MH17), as well as personnel trained in the operation of those systems. You would also need a military radar. Good luck finding any of those. Secondly, if you magically wished a SAM launcher into existence, you would need to be in a position where Air Forde One is in range, which is easier said than done considering that the pilots have the entirety of the airspace above the Continental United States to fly around in. Thirdly, Air Force One has active countermeasures to defeat SAMs, as well as escort fighters willing to sacrifice their lives to protect the President.
  11. Wait a minute. A terrorist attack levels the Capitol Building and kills everyone in the Continuity of Government chain down to SecHUD, and he is not immediately rushed aboard Air Force One and sequestered in flight for the next 24 hours? We have the technology to do that, with in-flight refueling. In the wake of such a massive strike, POTUS would be infinitely safer flying an unknown and classified course and escorted by USAF F-22s than in any land-based strongpoint.
  12. Killing off One improves the show by cutting out the weakest link.
  13. It makes sense. It wouldn't do for the AI driven android to outshine the rest of the cast personality-wise in every scene, now.
  14. How is it that the Android, who only fakes human emotions, immediately comes off as a more emotive and human seeming character than the actual human characters? I'm glad that somebody on this show has figured out how to act naturally.
  15. Anglo French. She's playing a domestic terrorist on the second series of The Tunnel, which is an adaptation of The Bridge. (While we're talking about the show, having watched both The Tunnel and the US The Bridge I find The Tunnel to be the stronger show, on the strength of Clemence Poesy's acting and the writing for her character.
  16. That bar is so low you could trip over it. I think that it was pretty damn cowardly for the kid Burgess shot to have been actually guilty. At any rate I don't like how next ep would mark a third storyline about Burgess and Roman. Burgess is the worst, even worse than Ruzek now, and the two need to be split up ASAP.
  17. In fairness to the Vikings, this was basically SOP for all armies at the time. What historians call "foraging" was very much a rape, pillage, and burn kind of affair.
  18. Ricky Whittle's character got killed off The 100 recently. Of course, he's not white, so the immunity might not have transferred.
  19. Generally speaking, yes. The key distinguishing feature of a badge bunny is that she pursues cops because they are cops, and is not at all discriminating. So, not Rollins.
  20. You'd think that after all of the bullshit the show went through last season they'd think twice before killing another Lance.
  21. Well, Felicity has already usurped everything else to do with Green Arrow's female leads. So why not?
  22. They could always make Felicity Black Canary. I mean, it apparently isn't actually that much work, and the show is already so interested in making everything about her anyways. And then they can kill her after a season because apparently that's how they roll.
  23. Major Female characters on this show apparently work by the Harvey Dent principle. They either die heroes or live long enough to become a soul sucking parasite feasting off of the bloated mass of the show.
  24. Did the writers forget that Roman dating his partner is what got Burgess shot? I hate all three parts of this love triangle.
