S13.E08: Esopha-gate
RecoveringLawyer replied to jewel21's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Alcohol can enhance the drowsiness that may occur with gabapentin. If Sutton takes her meds before she goes to sleep, seems like it wouldn’t be a big deal. I’m on medication for a variety of things, and I’ve had plenty of drinks with the medications (including Lexapro) without any problems. Yes, ideally you shouldn’t take meds and drink, but you also have to live your life and make your own decisions. Annemarie can really stfu with her “medical” opinion. She isn’t her doctor and Sutton didn’t ask for her advice. I have a slightly narrowed esophagus combined with a weak muscle, and I sometimes have issues swallowing. It’s gotten better since I had reflux and hiatal hernia surgery but it still creates issues from time to time. The dr was on the fence as to whether I should have the stretching thing or not. For now, I’m just living with it. Like Sutton. -
S13.E07: Dazed and Accused

1. Annmarie needs to get off my screen. Now. She's really annoying, and as someone who has esophaegeal issues that recently required surgery, she can fuck the fuck off with her supposed "knowledge". 2. LOVING that Kyle is getting a dose of her own medicine. A little surprised that it's Sutton doing it, but it makes sense to me. I wonder what Kyle thinks of Dorit and PK talking about her relationship on camera? Conveniently, she'll blow that off but get on Sutton for one question/innuendo. 3. Denise was hilarious. 4. Did I mention that I hate this Annmarie chick? -
S13.E19: Reunion Part 3
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Okay -- being totally petty and vain, but wtf is UP with John Fuda's lips? It looks like they were stuck on a vacuum hose and then yanked off. I can't unsee them. -
S13.E18: Reunion Episode 2
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
It's so weird - I can't imagine calling my brother and his wife to tell them about a cheating rumor. I'd call him alone and let him deal with it. Nor could I see my SIL calling DH and I together about a rumor. It would absolutely be a private conversation between brother and sister. If there's nothing going on, then so be it. -
S13.E18: Reunion Episode 2
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
I think that Frank Jr. probably had a small issue with Luis -- maybe the door was locked one day like Froid (Frank Roid) said and he couldn't immediately get a hold of L. Clearly Jr. has decided that it's best for his career to act like a professional and not carry on like Froid -- Jr has a new job and is doing well. Guess he takes after his momma. Froid has latched on to that like it's the holy grail. -
S13.E17: Reunion Part 1

I also enjoyed the call from Juicy. Anyone else catch the snake charmer chiming in on the "hello/goodbye" from the rest of the cast to him? God, I hated how she walked in like Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard in that gown. -

I already want to reach through the screen and strangle Marge. She's the worst. She knows what she's doing when she winds up BB and the ho, and they are too dumb to realize she's doing it for entertainment purposes. Her "loco" sign when T went off-stage was another desperate attempt to get camera time. -
S13.E15: Flappers of Fury
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Exactly! I'd probably laugh and call DH over to laugh about it with me. Is that really all the dirt? And I totally agree with whoever said earlier that Melissa and Ratface were intentionally poking Danielle about Ireland. -
S13.E13: Messes & Bridesmaid Dresses
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Exactly. Clearly they had already decided they weren't going to the wedding, and Teresa and Louie knew that and were just keeping up a front for the show. Probably also why Gia gave Mel a "meh" greeting at the shower --- she knew Mel was just there to further a fake storyline as if she was going to the wedding. Probably also why Mel didn't bring Antonia to the shower -- that would have been super awkward for a teenager. -
I would have liked Tre's and Dolo's dresses so much more if the middle wasn't sheer. They could still have had it sheer from like mid-thigh down and it would look so much better. Fuda looks like a Frankenstein Belle, although I kind of like it. Mel and Jen A look matronly in those dresses. Very mother of the bride. Jen F needs another round of fittings. Jackie just looks meh, basically what I expect of her. Marge's look is better than I would have expected, although I also hate the bun on top of her head. The Ozempic makes her look even older. Totally forgot, Danielle definitely looks ready to throw down for the crown.

S13.E11: I Smell a Rat
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Why does no one call out Fessler for stirring the pot? Last episode asking about the bridesmaids and this time asking about the relationship between the cousins?!?! What the actual fuck? I’m done with her. Whoops - maybe that was Fuda. -

Yours Truly, I think you make a good point about Teresa and Luis' relationship. I personally find him creepy, but maybe that's just my issue. -

Joey Gorga is a bitch boy. Truer words were never spoken. (Teresa shouldn't have agreed with them, but I get it.) Melissa is a failed singer, actress, and business woman, married to a con artist extraordinaire. She needs Teresa to be relevant. Looey is creepy. Marge needs to get the F off my screen with her hypocrisy. She DOES have an arsenal of shit on everyone and being warned that it's better to have her as a friend than enemy matches up with her freakin' tag line. The Fudas are a waste of airtime. Give me more Danielle. I want her to go all Staten Island on these fake bitches and set them straight, starting with Jackie, super try-hard with no storyline and horrible fashion sense. What to do with the Jens and Dolores? I honestly don't care about any of them anymore. Frank is a one-trick pony and the show ended last year. -
S13.E05: Driving Miss Crazy
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
WAY O/T Going way o/t, but California is the only state that regulates paralegals. UT and WA have some other provisions for the limited practice of law where paralegals can legally do more than most paralegals. I was in DC, and have practiced in NY, DC, VA, MD, and NC -- no one had any rules about paralegals. https://www.americanbar.org/groups/paralegals/profession-information/educational-information-for-paralegals/ Also, i meant to type that law students who had worked at places as undergrads had called themselves interns. Once in law school, it's a free-for-all as to "intern, legal intern, law clerk, etc." After graduation, if they are a law clerk, it's typical a judicial clerkship, although some government agencies also call baby lawyers "law clerks." -
S13.E05: Driving Miss Crazy
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Wow -- so much judgment here. As my name indicates, I am a recovering lawyer, who now works with law students seeking employment. 1. Titles are free. Employers choose what to call their interns, paralegals, legal assistants, law clerks, etc. And truly "law clerk" is the one that is generally reserved for law students, not "intern". I've worked with 100s of law students who interned at various legal offices (firms, prosecutors, judges) and are listed on their resume as "interns". 2. Paralegals are not "typically trained and certified." That is true only for some jurisdictions. For the most part, paralegal certificate programs are money-printing machines for universities. Do they give you skills that you wouldn't automatically have? Yes. Can you be hired as a paralegal without one? Absolutely. I was a paralegal right after college for two years and didn't have any certifications. I was one of 15 paralegals at the firm and only 1 had a certificate. Most of us were there bridging the gap between undergrad and law school. That's often, but not always, the way the job gets filled. Government agencies have "paralegal specialist" positions, but even those don't require a special training or certification. Most people learn that on the job. You just have to be somewhat intelligent. 3. I don't like the pink short blazer dresses for the whole staff, and I think that one girl needs a tank underneath, but seriously? This is what we are commenting on in 2023? They can wear whatever the f they want to. If you don't like it, don't hire them. I bet they are doing pretty well for themselves. 4. What will Gia do? Who knows. Yes, she may get coffee (if she's there in person) or "watch/help" -- that is how people learn. She'll probably fill out forms (using older forms as go-bys), watch hearings and client meetings, etc. That's all anyone expects an undergrad intern to do! Also, I've seen plenty of smaller firms that have staff pictures on the website. The other extreme is just the name partner's picture. There aren't rules on that! -
S13.E04: Housewarming History Lesson
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Exactly. Joey's trying to re-write history now that his parents are gone and Juicy's out of the picture. We all saw the bullshit he pulled at the Christening and in the Catskills, and the nasty words he used to describe his sister then. He did act like a little "bitch boy" and I cannot imagine any Italian NY or NJ man getting so worked up like he does. Like Frank, sure. But Little Gorga? No f'ing way. And to be clear, getting worked up about his supposed hurt feelings, not actual slights -- I can totally see half my relatives threatening to f someone up if they said something nasty about their wives/sisters/daughters, but about their own feelings? Gimma a fuckin break. -
S13.E04: Housewarming History Lesson
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Man, I really wish the famewhorgas blog was still active. I'm sure there's so much more crap to dig up on them and I'm here for every stinkin' minute of it. Joey is a little bitch boy -- Tre was dead on with that. Louie is definitely pulling the puppet strings with her - it's disturbing, but in the scene with Tre and Joey on the phone, he seemed somewhat genuine. I forgot Papa Gorga visited Juicy in Italy. He'd rather have a felon for family than his spawn. +1000. Paulie is a quiet thug. -
S13.E03: Boys Will Be Boys
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
I got the sense that Gabriella actually wanted to call Melissa out -- if Gia could just shut up for a hot second, she might have had more to say. I'm a little surprised that Melissa's mom and sisters weren't invited to the wedding, but I don't think I would have been quite as bent about it. Joe's just a punk imo and can't miss an opportunity to be the center of all the drama. -
S13.E02: Family, Family, Family
RecoveringLawyer replied to TexasGal's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
I just watched the episode and WWHL (which auto records - super annoying). Clearly Louie is in the process of isolating Teresa from her family -- his comments about Melissa are targeted and timed to keep them apart. He's a schemer and a con artist -- his responses to the questions about his job were vague and designed to move the conversation along to another topic. He is gross. -

S12.E24: Reunion, Part 3
RecoveringLawyer replied to jewel21's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
Maybe Portia or one of her kids can explain it to her — Kyle totally acts like a martyr and Kathy’s upset because she didn’t defend her against Rinna. What does Rinna have on Kyle? -
S12.E23: Reunion, Part 2
RecoveringLawyer replied to jewel21's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I can't believe I'm gonna defend Rinna here, but the trip to Mexico after her mother's death didn't bother me so much. My dad passed away after being in hospice, and we went on a cruise with friends about 1 week after the last memorial service. It was nice to remove myself from the day-to-day thinking about my dad. I'll give her that -- also, sometimes you just don't "think" after a death, you just try to keep moving forward. I drove two hours to the airport after seeing my dad take his last breath because that when my flight was scheduled. I didn't lose my shit until I got to the gate. I never, however, used my Dad's passing to scream at my family or friends. Crying at random moments, sure.
