I get what you're saying. But he did say he was sorry a few times before he left. He could have just said something about while he is happy he took this opportunity and it was the right decision for him, he is sorry that his actions hurt her. The end. It is the thinking about her all the time line that looks like he is trying to see if he still has a shot with her. I don't think anyone would want their fiance to text an ex to say they think about them all the time. I just want Gabby (and Rachel) to be in healthy relationships.

I'm not buying Erich's story that he wasn't trying to get back with the ex. If he was sure of Gabby he wouldn't have contacted the ex at all. He definitely wouldn't say he thinks about her all the time. He was testing the water to see if he still had a chance.

Seems like production told Gabby at the beginning of the episode to go hug Erich and make up because no one else wanted her. I'm feeling a bit sorry for Erich with everything going on with his family at this time as well. Gabby knew how much Erich really wants to be with her. Jason let her know he didn't want her, yet, she pushed for the fantasy suite with him anyway. Then she is upset that he still doesn't want her. Of course you are loveable Gabby!! Everyone is. Just get some therapy so you can love yourself first. Rachel and Gabby both seem too desperate to be engaged, no matter who it is they are engaged to. I think it would be great if they both end up saying, they tried, grew, learned a lot about themselves but realize neither of them are ready for engagement.

I too have a lot of real life experience with FMLA. Especially paternity FMLA. If eligible, it is pretty simple actually. Perhaps he wasn't planning on taking any paternity FMLA but when this situation with Carlin came up it was the easiest way to go. Seems it was simple for Evan, his employer approved him quickly. Maybe they are laid back, good for him. And it is perfectly fine to go on vacation during paternity FMLA. People may not like it for whatever reason they want to.

He may have told his employer that he needed time because of Carlin and they said he has FMLA available because of the baby or they just approved it because of Carlin. Doesn't really matter. It is unpaid leave and they approved him. He is free to spend it with his family however he wants to.

I've known a few fathers who took four weeks off three different times during baby's first year and some have taken two six weeks leave. Just had to provide info at time of the birth. Pretty simple. I'm sure it was easier for Evan having this medical problem for Carlin during the baby's first year. May have been more difficult if this didn't happen in the baby's first year.

For FMLA Evan can take up to 12 weeks during the 12 months after a baby is born. It doesn't have to be taken all at once. It is unpaid leave. No doctors note needed. He can do whatever he wants during that time off. No fraud involved.

I think it would have been nice to see Rebecca raise her hand to Miguel's cheek (even if she couldn't actually touch him) and say "I've missed you" before she moved on.

This episode we see Toby wearing a wedding ring, so he is already married to Laura. We saw them in the future scene where Jack is performing so we know they are still alive and together at that point. So the future scene of Toby in the hotel getting ready to go to the cabin was for shock value? He wasn't wearing a ring so that we would speculate what happened to Kate and Toby/Kate I guess.

Agree about Miguel. He wasn't a good father and wasn't a good husband to Shelly. Yet he was a great husband to Rebecca. They were right for each other in that season of life. It was nice that his son forgave him enough to spend time with him in the end. I like that Miguel wasn't a perfect character, made him more real. I am happy that Kevin and Sophie are married and Miguel was around to see that too.

That's not what happened. Kevin didn't go running to anyone. Cassidy went to Kevin asking his help. Kevin helped her, then he was upset thinking of what happened with Sophie. Kevin mentioned to Cassidy a comment NICKY made. Cassidy told him they aren't each other's "person" and Kevin immediately agreed.

I'm trying to understand what you mean here. From my perspective Sophie was trying to figure out why she freaked out and left. What she is saying to Kevin here is like someone telling another "I need this, this and that". The other person is "okay, I'm on it, doing this, this and getting that, etc." Not that it's already a done deal sort of thing. Just that is what she knows she needs from him going forward.

Nicky travels hours to find his long lost love, finds her, spends the day with her and in the last minute of the episode he is married to a stranger. Kate is married to Toby and the last few minutes of the same episode she is engaged and marrying Phillip. Yet people think Kevin and Sophie don't know each other enough to date? 🤣

They were married for years. She walked out on him when he told her that he cheated on her. So he could have kept some things at that time that he didn't want to throw away.

Agree with all of this! I will temper my expectations for the rest of this season, especially the finale. Kevin will be similar to Kate for me. There is just not enough time for me to care about Phillip at all. So Kate and anything else that happens with her doesn't mean anything to me. I think they could have done without Randall and his mother last season, as well as Kate and Toby adopting story and developed some of this seasons episodes last year.

Miguel did seem distraught in the preview. I wonder if he isn't well too.😥

Yes! And Rebecca should be next to Miguel!! Put her between Miguel and Kevin if you want, but she should be next to her husband.

So it seems that all the rest of the episodes are in the future? Kate and Phillip's wedding onward? I'll be happy not to see too much more of Kate, Phillip and Toby if that is the case but will miss young Jack. I'm glad he had that episode last week for the world to see his talent!

It could have been as simple as "when the time comes, be sure Toby is included, he's still father to Jack and Hailey and I would like him to be here". She could have said this months or years before the deathbed vigil. I'm just throwing this out as it possibly still being Rebecca, again I don't know and I don't care.

Thanks for the info. Not that I care who it is. But Rebecca could have planned this out before she got to this point and specified who she would want there. It's probably Kate they are referring to, but still could have been Rebecca.

Maybe it's more from the stuff you are reading online? As far as I know there was only that one line from Sophie's mom (in her funeral episode). She knew they were too young and thought he needed to grow up more before he "earned" the family ring. Where else on the show have you seen this? I think they both have a deep love for each other. No one is better than the other or on a pedestal. So far, in their relationship, we've seen Kevin's mistakes and from his view point. Maybe they'll explore it further.

Not at the future scene where Rebecca is dying, but I can see them putting Kate & Toby together in the later future scene of Jack, his wife, baby, Hailey. I hope not, after spending all of this season on breaking them up.

I think Kate and Phillip will have to be rushed and therefore we won't be invested in them as a couple. I have a bad feeling that Kate and Toby will reunite in the finale and that will make all of these episodes of Kate & Toby breaking up a total waste of time. I really hope they don't break them up just to put them together in the future. I hope Toby ends up happy with someone else.

Toby can tell Kate that he'll move back to LA, she can teach full time & he'll go back to being the one home with the kids. Maybe he realizes how much he missed it and Kevin can subsidize their lifestyle.
