I mentioned her to my husband today and he had no idea who she was. Of course we're Canadian so unless we go out of our way to watch stuff like The View (raises hand) it's not like we're seeing or hearing people like her much. I wonder if she has any clue though how unknown she is to most people who aren't tuning in to this show?

S03.E09: A Party Invitation, Football Grapes and an Earth Chicken

This is probably my only point of similarity with Sheldon. Birds totally creep me out. -

I think your sources may be a bit confused. You aren't expected to invite all the kids in the class (at my grandson's school that would mean inviting 29 kids!!!) what you are not allowed to do anymore (in the younger grades anyway) is to let your child pass out invitations in class to the select few or to get the teacher to put those invitations in the select fews backpack. Parents have to make an effort to get in touch with the parents of the kids involved and do things a bit more personally. It was realistic to me that Mary expected that Sheldon would be invited to Billy's party. They are neighbours not schoolmates and they are about as friendly with each other as Sheldon is capable of being. -
S03.E08: The Sin of Greed and a Chimichanga from Chi-Chi's

Sadly this seems to be the way they are determined to go with Mary's character. She didn't start off that way but I can see Lorre's fine hand at work. Women are the bad guys in almost every relationship. -
Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
PennyPlain replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
That's the part of the criticism that killed me too. I mean do these people actually watch commercials The one I love to hate most is for some tooth whitening toothpaste where the toothy actress is bemoaning her yellow teeth - which are a brilliant white - as she deletes photos supposedly showing her yellow teeth. I mean either cast someone who can talk without showing their teeth or don't tell us this person's teeth are yellow when we can SEE that they obviously are not. -

I wouldn't have done that with my daughter but I definitely had to force my son to be sociable - hell, go out of the house at all - on more than one occasion. If I'd let him have his way he'd have been on nintendo or his computer all his waking hours. And I wasn't raising a child prodigy where I might have potentially had the payoff of being the mother of a famous scientist one day! -
Really enjoying Hope at Christmas (so far) but forgot to PVR it for later so that means taping the last bit before I head out as I can't find it on the W network schedule for later. I've noticed this with a few other titles - some movies get played over and over again while others,, well you're lucky if they show up two or three times - if that! Wonder how that decision is made?

What happened to Shaun's brother?

People on my FB are going nuts because there has been online criticism of Rudolph. Of course they are focusing on the accusation that the show is racist and ignoring the other negative things - like the relentless bullying. I raised my head above the parapet to comment that watching it as an adult makes me dislike Santa and pretty much every other adult character be they elf or reindeer who live at the North Pole. Lesson from Rudolph is that people will pick on you until they need something from you!

I can't remember exactly what Frank says but it's something like "Say what you want about American made cars - beats a house." As he hold up a broken piece of drywall. -

S03.E10: The Better Feeling of My Heart
PennyPlain replied to OtterMommy's topic in Anne With An E [V]
I expected better from this show but they did the same thing most TV shows do. Have kids as young as 12 dating and focusing most of their plots around relationships. Granted Anne and her friends are a bit older than that and moving on from high school to college but still. So maddening. -
I am watching this episode right now and it's sooooo good 😊. I love Penny's pink dress and her "I'm pumped" jump in the air when she goes to get Amy and Sheldon. And Mark Hamill, well, what can I say?? This one hit all the right notes.

If he went along. I'm hopeful that he told the idiot what he knew he wanted to hear and respected the girl's right to privacy.

What I loved about the toaster story was that it reflected something that really happened to Phil Rosenthal. To celebrate the success of ELR he gave engraved toasters to some friends and family and his parents traded theirs in - presumably without opening the box and seeing the engraving! Apparently Rosenthals parents were way more the prototypes for Marie and Frank than Ray's own parents were. -

Speaking of which I love the scene where Ray comes downstairs and Marie is eating a turkey leg in the kitchen. "You know what makes me happy? Butter." -

Of course she would have known! Marie patrols Debra's kitchen like she's a cop on the beat!
