  1. Plus it seems that Kate thinks nobody can do anything right but her so I'm sure when the kids do help out they're criticized for not doing it the "right" way, which is her way.
  2. I agree, torturing animals?! That's a horrible thing to assume! Rumors and opinions become facts really fast around here don't they?
  3. I'm not going to get into it with you but I can guarantee that this is not true. I think I will take the word of the many ob gyns I saw during my horrendous pregnancy and I'll believe the FACT that every time I walked except to use the bathroom, I felt contractions. Thanks for your info though.
  4. I say exactly that because everyone I know is the same way. We don't care. In the grand scheme of life, what somebody calls me ranks at the very bottom. As long as somebody treats me with kindness and respect, I couldn't care less what I'm called.
  5. My 32 year old daughter only calls me mommy or mama when one of us is sick or hurt. The entire 2 and a half months I was in the hospital she called me mommy. I think it was comforting to her. She had never seen me sick or hurt before and I think calling me mommy comforted her in some way. If she's sick she always says she wants her mama.
  6. I have at least 20 people who call me mom or mama. All of my kids friends have always called me mom. I was more of a mother to two of them then their own mothers were. I like when they call me mom. I call my mother in law ma. My daughter's best friend from childhood calls me mom and my daughter calls her mom mom. When they were younger, they said her mom was the one who bought them stuff and I'm the mom who loved them. I think I got the better title. I still think that making somebody call you Ms or Mrs says that you think you're better than them and how dare they address you by your first name. When I did grandparents day at the kids school I let all of the kids call me by my first name.
  7. The only person who calls me Ms. is my primary care doctor and I keep asking her to call me by my first name. I just have the mindset that unless I'm a teacher I don't care if I'm called by my first name. I just don't see why it matters, as long as somebody is speaking nicely to me what do I care what name they call me? It's my name, I don't care if somebody is 2 or 92, they can all call me by my name. I just think to insist somebody calls you Mrs it kind of says that they're beneath you in some way and aren't important enough to call you by your first name. I wouldn't do that to anybody, child or adult. Just my own stupid opinion.
  8. I completely agree. I've always thought that Travolta wanted out but is afraid to leave. It's sad, I've heard that he is such a genuine, nice, caring man. I've always thought that they are holding something big over his head.
  9. I live for the Ali pictures. She always makes my day because she seems so happy.
  10. I don't care if kids call me by my first name, I actual prefer it. I don't see the big deal if a kid is introduced to me using my first name. Why does it matter? It just seems kind of stuck up (that may be the wrong word) to expect anybody to call me Mrs or Ms. What I really hate is when people make their son or daughter in law call them by Mr or Mrs. These people are part of the family yet are made to use Mr and Mrs.
  11. Thank you!
  12. I actually just had my labs done last month. My thyroid and everything is fine. It just sucks. Even with my mattress pad my mattress is starting to get messed up. I have new sheets that I'm dying to use but haven't even opened yet because I don't want to gross them up.
  13. @isalicat, I'm so happy that Louis has such a great home for his older years. Brushing a cat's teeth is the worst. Every one of my cats has gone crazy when I've tried to brush their teeth. I've been poking around the Border Collie rescue today. I'd like to adopt one that has had a rough life like I did with Kaylee but I'm not sure if I'm up to taking on such an extreme case again. I loved turning Kaylee's life around but it took a lot out if me and I just don't know if I have it in me to do it again.
  14. Thanks @harrie and @AuntieL. This is the only symptom I've had except the occasional hot flash so I should consider myself lucky but I don't, it sucks. I agree that the treatments don't seem worth the bother so instead I'll just bitch about it. I just don't know what to do about it.
  15. I've NEVER understood why men get so stupid over "women's" issues. I would never be with a guy who couldn't handle that kind of talk or a man who thinks buying tampons is humiliating. My guy has always bought female products for me and he doesn't give a shit. My son is the same way, he buys his girls products if needed.
  16. Ok men, don't read this. We've been talking about how cold it is. My old lady peeve is god damn night sweats. My bed is in front of a big window, it's been in the low 30s at night and I sleep with my window wide open. The poor cat gets so cold she burrows under the blankets. So I sleep under a huge window in freezing temperatures, wearing just my underwear and covered in just a sheet and I still wake up drenched every. damn. day. It sucks and I'm so friggin sick of it. Nothing I try has helped. I have to change my sheets and mattress pad damn near every day along with my pillows and body pillow. I think I'm the oldest woman here at 51 but have any of you women ever had this and what can be done for it? Ok men, you can read again. My peeve for the day is people who name their kids ridiculous names. There's a woman on one of the local Facebook garage sale things and her son is named Jho'chya, which she pronounces Josiah. Why? Why do that to a poor kid? He'll have to spell that name every time he says it. This kid has an eye condition, he was only born with one eye and his mother exploits that trying to get people to give her stuff but that a whole different peeve. Who do people do this to kids? What's wrong with Josiah?
  17. I went into labor with my son at 5 months pregnant. If I hadn't been put on bed rest he would have been born 4 months early and probably wouldn't be alive today. There are plenty of good reasons for a pregnant woman to be put on bed rest.
  18. There's a show on ABC about the Menendez brothers. Did anybody watch? What do you all think of this case? This is another one that I followed pretty closely when it was happening.
  19. I'm about halfway through this episode. I hate speaking badly about a kid, and it may just be that she's not comfortable around the cameras but there's not a lot of personality I see from Riley. She's just kind of...there. I see more personality from my houseplant. I can't stand Kandi anymore. I've always hated that thing she calls q mother and now I'm starting to hate her too. She sure does have a snooty, I'm better than you are air about her. The apple didn't fall too far from that bitch tree. Speaking of snooty, I don't like Cynthia either. Her comment about taking the women to a plastic surgeon so they can look as good as her made my eyes roll so far back, my nose was as high in the air as Cynthia's always is.
  20. Yeah, I don't agree with a "charity" to help people do something they could do on their own with a little willpower. Seems stupid to me.
  21. Eh. I don't "know" those people so it's OK I don't need to ask/complain. Thanks though.
  22. Well damn. I had a menopause question/complaint I was going to throw at some of the women my age here but I guess it'll be TMI so I won't ask.
  23. I'm thinking of the St Jude commercial anyway. I just saw it today.
  24. I'm positive she's blaming the kids. She's probably screaming that they'll lose everything and its all their fault. That's what she tells then when they don't want to film, that they'll lose everything and if they do, it'll be all their fault for not filming. Those poor kids are going to be so messed up.
  25. Damn. Aren't the ratings really bad? I don't understand why this show keeps getting renewed.
