  1. This, 100%. I don't think Joy needs a break for our sake, and that she shouldn't be expressing any anger. Joy might need a break for her sake and well-being. Maybe only a day or two. A mental health break. She was in a really good mood yesterday. But today it just wasn't like her to be so visibly angry for the entire show, and that's not healthy. If she was this upset about something at any other point in the day, she could leave the room, ignore the problem for a while by sitting by herself and reading a book or watching tv. But that's obviously not possible when you're on live tv for the next hour. Hopefully something specific caused it and it was a one-time thing.
  2. So after Sen. Duckworth talks about how she is focused on getting Joe Biden elected, Sunny brings up Tara Reade's call for Biden to withdraw from the race, and asks Duckworth if she agrees, which, at that point, was a dumb question to ask. Joy really is pissed about something. She's not smiling at all during the Magic Johnson segment. Neither she or Sunny asked him a question, either. Why they were even included. Then, in an attempt to smile, at the close of the show, Joy slightly lifted one corner of her mouth. I wonder what happened. Show-related or bad day?
  3. Now this is a show with four strong, powerful, intelligent women (which Meghan always claims to be, but isn't) (If only Whoopie could somehow get the hang of this moderating thing.) Joy is in a fightin' mood today. I just can't believe Sunny is still surprised by anything Republicans do.
  4. It's weird that on social media she talks about how her gray roots are showing, but just a few days ago on the show when she mentioned her roots, she said they were brunette!
  5. I saw the link earlier tonight (right here on the front page of PrimeTimer) and wished the same thing.
  6. We really need an eye-roll emoji.
  7. If this ends up being true, she may end up being sorry she made such a spectacle of herself.
  8. Whoopie mentioned that we lost several icons (which she used appropriately) over the weekend - Roy Horn, Little Richard, music executive Andre Harrell, singer Betty Wright, and Jerry Stiller, and then she just went right into talking about how her family celebrated her daughter's birthday (on Zoom, I think), and they had a twerking contest, and she didn't want to see her daughter twerking, so she put her mask over her eyes. And then, oddly, she brought up the deaths again.
  9. Just wait. It was cringeworthy.
  10. It's really too bad that even Sunny doesn't always do a lot of research. Ivanka's assistant has been working from home for about two months. So she's not part of this hotspot. Today Meghan decided to name Chris Cuomo instead of obliquely referring to him like she did last week. I wondered what exactly happened, so I looked it up, and this incident happened a month ago, on Easter, a little over two weeks after Cuomo was first diagnosed, when he and his immediate family were outdoors on their own property (not NYC) and a man on a bicycle (not a neighbor) noticed him, stopped, 100 feet away, the man said, and confronted him about why he wasn't social distancing, saying, "Your brother is the coronavirus czar. Why aren't you following his rules"? Chris did exchange words with him at this point, but of course the bicyclist says Cuomo "attacked" him. Never mind that if he hadn't started it, it never would have happened. The sites that covered this were all, except for Inside Edition, conservative media, and, par for the course, the biker appeared on Tucker Carlson's Fox News show. Meghan needs "professional clothing"? Everybody else on the show looks just the same or better, wardrobe-wise. Whoopie made the most ill-advised segue ever. Do you think Meghan sits there when someone's telling a light-hearted story and tells herself, "I will not smile, I will not smile, I will not smile"?
  11. The article was kind of discouraging, because if the executive producer thinks they're doing a great job now, there won't be any effort to make further improvements. It may at least help a bit that now they each have a teleprompter and can also see each other. We'll see.
  12. There goes Meghan throwing around the word "iconic" again (incorrectly, of course). I love Sunny's tie-dye top.
  13. Good news - the killers of Ahmaud Arbery have been arrested, and both were charged with murder and aggravated assault.
  14. Meghan's so ignorant, and insists on proving it on tv every day.
  15. I actually had the exact same thought. Who hunts down cattle? Unfortunately, who you are and who you know too often does matter when it comes to being arrested and charged. Hopefully the fact that the video is now public will make a difference.
  16. Am I only just now noticing it now, or has Sunny been emphasizing syllables with her hand movements more than usual this week? There are no government suicide hotline programs, Meghan. Most of the press corps isn't being tested, it's most of the White House press corps that's being tested. So either Meggy was talking too fast and forgot to say that part, or she failed to recognize that distinction when she first came across that information. Oh, and today she really cares about the job the White House is doing, unlike yesterday, when it was all about China. Joy's glasses are making weird shadows, too. I think Whoopie's would, too, if they were larger. It must be the new lighting they have. Sunny said she didn't know why a grand jury hasn't indicted the father and son. Who knows why it didn't happen back in February, but the video of the killing was only released on Tuesday by attorneys for the victim, and right now, there are no grand juries being held in Georgia. Meghan thinks "the media" doesn't like her because she's overweight?!!! She wouldn't be any more well-liked, respected, etc., even if she was skinny. What happened to her go-to excuse of not being liked because she's a conservative woman? And her biggest worry right now is not the pandemic, not politics, but how the media will treat her when she comes back on the show after her pregnancy and she hasn't lost the baby weight?!!! Yes, she really is that shallow. (I think she said the quiet part out loud.) Admittedly, thin women in the media do have those kind of comments made about them after a pregnancy, but since Meghan's not thin to begin with, I doubt people would have that expectation of her. "Starting to feel like...", Whoopie?!
  17. I was thinking that she might have had extra-heavy, dark eyeshadow on. And yes, it does look like it's the side-pieces that are casting shadows on her face. Does that normally happen? I've wondered if her glasses are prescription. Someone online asked her what brand they were, and the name she gave (Quay Australia) sells blue light glasses with clear lenses, as well as sunglasses. It wasn't as noticeable today since she was farther away, but there's a white brand logo on one of the upper corners, which wouldn't be there if they were prescription lenses. You can tell, when someone inadvertently speaks over her, that Whoopie gets annoyed, even though she's guilty of doing it more often than any of the others. This show only cares about "names". Talent? Eh, not necessary. And those "names" agree. Also, unlike them, Nicolle actually cares about doing a good job.
  18. Thank goodness Meghan is farther away from the camera. That the previous administration left this administration "bad tests" for a virus that didn't exist before the end of last year is one of the most nonsensical statements ever. Having hearings in the House just because they're after "a Spartacus cable news moment"? I wonder how, in Meghan's mind, that would work exactly. Oh, so Meghan's not as interested in the mistakes that have been made in this country as she is in what China did. Well, she's got her right-wing talking points down. All four talking at once; that's a feat. Whoopie - "...and the adults who are teenagers". That guy seemed like he'd be a great, fun, teacher. (And even with that feel-good story Meghan could hardly bother to look anything but grim when they were wrapping up the segment.) She thinks she looks so serious and smart wearing her big 'ol glasses, when they just serve to make her look extra ridiculous.
  19. Whoopie's the worst at wanting to fill up every second of silence. When they go off the air, they need to stick around for a little while and practice, every day, like piano lessons, until it becomes second nature - one one thousand, two one thousand - then it's okay to talk.
  20. Ooh, show improvements. They have green screens nows, that can display the show's regular backdrop. And much better lighting. Consistent sound. They're all sitting closer to the camera (for some reason Whoopie's closer than the other two, but still not as close as Meghan has been lately). No Meghan either. Is that a new improvement? Oh, darn. Well, thank you, technical issues, for a brief respite. (What do you want to bet that she called and told them that they hadn't announced why she wasn't there?) So everyone kept mentioning that Biden has asked the Senate to release any personnel records. Their researcher didn't do a very good job, because yesterday the relevant office in the Senate said they couldn't legally release any records, or even confirm if they exist, since any such records can't be made public for 50 years. The show left people with the impression that it's still a possibility.
  21. I wonder if they do think, "well, we're being preempted; nobody's seeing this" so they don't bother to put in much effort? (Or, since they are doing the show and not watching tv, do they even realize they're being preempted?) I don't know if other ABC affiliates besides the one in NY carry Gov. Cuomo's briefings, or if there are daily briefings in other states at that hour, but it hasn't been preempted since March where I live, either.
  22. I think Sunny's sound could use some improvement. It sounds "hollow", or something, like she's in a large room with extremely high ceilings. There's a new weekly half-hour show on AMC that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan cooked up, called Friday Night In with the Morgans where he and his wife Hillarie Burton talk to three of their friends, and for the entire show all four feeds are on screen at the same time. It amazes me how well they get this three-week old show to work. Neither JDM or HB has hosted a talk show before, and what's more, each show has included one friend who's not famous, and unlikely to have done any tv. (One week it was their family doctor; the next week it was a local farmer.) But there's very little awkwardness or talking over each other. They do talk about the pandemic, and being stuck at home, but they all seem to be enjoying each other's company, and there's a lot of laughter. Watching it really made me realize just how bad The View is right now. No one really acts like they want to be there; they're just going through the motions. The serious issues they talk about are better covered on actual news shows, and their "light-hearted" topics come off as forced, and are usually so cringeworthy that if they took a poll, they would probably find out that most people watching don't find them amusing at all. I get it. They're in the worst-hit area of the country, and have no idea when it will be safe to venture out again. (On the other hand, other NYC-based hosts like Colbert and Meyers aren't all doom and gloom all the time.) I don't think I'm assuming too much to say that even under the best of circumstances none of the hosts really enjoy this job, and that they put a lot of effort into pretending that they do (some more than others). With things as they are right now, that's just not happening. Maybe they should shake things up a bit and do something like have only two hosts anchor a segment at a time, or just have two hosts on for any particular day, and rotate them. Four hosts, and a formula where everyone insists on equal time, just doesn't work with this new format.
  23. Doesn't everybody know - "incidences" comes from the same dictionary that "criseses" comes from. Added - Lol! I first posted this about a minute before she said "criseses" (for at least the third time in the past few weeks).
