  1. Of course Meghan didn't thank Ana, who is included, as is Abby, in their nomination for Best Talk Show Host (Informative). Oddly, that award, for some unknown reason, wasn't presented last night. There are two dates next month when they're announcing other winners - for digital drama on July 19, and for children's, animated, family and lifestyle programming on July 26. Their category doesn't really fit, but maybe they'll announce who won it then.
  2. Well, fuck. The other hosts will take it for what it is, but Meghan will be even more insufferable. The show won a Daytime Emmy for best informative talk show. Brian, since he's the executive producer, gave the acceptance speech (all the nominees in every category recorded one ahead of time).
  3. You're right, Ana used to be on CNN regularly. I usually watch it for a couple of hours every night, and she hasn't been on in quite a while. Part of the reason, I'm sure, is because they're not spending as much time talking politics, and when they do, they usually have reporters on to discuss it, and not pundits. I imagine Ana's choosing to enjoy all this free time she has with her husband, and Chacha, of course.
  4. You know, you might be right. It does make more sense. Lol. I always have the closed captioning on, and it said "breeding system". I guess coming right after the first woman, who definitely did not make sense, the closed captioner's take seemed plausible. Usually you can tell when they get a word wrong.
  5. I wish they hadn't picked that clip of the woman who was saying masks are literally killing people, mentioned citizen's arrests, and said that people there were obeying the devil's law. And also the clip of the woman who said they "wanted to throw God's wonderful breeding system out the door". Because then I wanted to know what exactly they meant. At least the last woman's comments were decipherable. Meghan thought it was funny? Just laughing and laughing and laughing and then laughing some more.. Doesn't she realize these are the people she's usually defending? And that people who are talking this way are a big reason the numbers are skyrocketing in certain areas. Meghan - "The infamous Alexandria Ocasio Cortez". "The rise of socialism on the left". She's back in her lane. Ooh, he actually complimented AOC. Well, Madison Cawthorn certainly has the talking points down. But if he'd been paying attention, he would be aware that in the last few days quite a few Republican politicians are now acknowledging that more needs to be done to get the virus under control. and are no longer comfortable parroting what the White House is saying.
  6. That is the book LMM took his inspiration from.
  7. This is probably the reason why - Sherri was just trying to be helpful, not nasty at all, but it made "strong, smart woman" Meghan basically say "off with her head!"
  8. Are they saying it's going to be Tammy Baldwin? I haven't seen that anywhere.
  9. Meghan just randomly mentions Hawaii. And she not mad anymore about being in quarantine, apparently. I guess seeing what's now happening in the states that reopened without following any guidelines has changed her mind. Is Meghan pretending she's in NYC again? Or maybe she's back.
  10. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! "I'm less an identity politics person than I think the rest of the hosts on this show". I've never been more shocked by something Meghan's said. Truly. And what does more women in politics have to do with it? The others were just saying Biden's doing the smart thing.
  11. Meghan got married in Nov. 2017. She was pregnant a little over a year later, and then pregnant a second time a year after that. I cant see any doctor calling that a fertility issue. One miscarriage doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. Since Meghan said she found out in early January that she was pregnant, and presumably waited until after the first trimester to announce it, which happened on March 22, that means she's likely due in the first half of September. So we can expect at least a little Meghan-free time on the show in a couple of months.
  12. 2016? Even with all her notes Meghan can't get the year right. Okay, so now Meghan just throws out there that we should defund the FBI. Who's Tom? And Whoopie talking about his "Great White Way" comment at the end of that segment was so odd and out of nowhere. Exactly! Bolton's excuses for not testifying are paper thin. "I have to be true to my philosophical convictions". "I live in Maryland. My vote won't make a difference'. "My testimony wasn't going to make any difference". He said 'the Democrats committed impeachment malpractice', while the Senate, under Republican control, is let off the hook with a simple 'they decided not to call witnesses'. Does he think most people won't see through his sanctimonious, holier than thou attitude? Me, too. Sunny and Joy did a great job. Thank goodness that's over with.
  13. Or maybe it was a lack of foundation and/or concealer? I'm not sure, but the the color of her face was blotchy and uneven.
  14. I hadn't checked Abby's twitter since she announced that her dad had the virus. I didn't watch the videos, but from the written posts it sounds like she and her mother have it now. Meghan was incorrect, though, in saying that Abby's family had been totally responsible and sheltering in place prior to getting sick. I'm not sure about everyone else, but Gov. Huntsman had been out campaigning without a mask and shaking hands before he was diagnosed. Wow. Meghan's thrown for a loop just because Whoopie asks her to respond first. You'd think she just started doing this tv thing. Yep. She sure looks like she's decided to take matters into her own hands when she doesn't like the way the show is being run, and that includes when she complained last week about something said by the opening announcer. Meghan thinks daytime talk is "a rough gig"? I would love to see all the other daytime talk show hosts polled to see how many of them agree with her. If this is so difficult for her, maybe she should take this opportunity to "try something new", pursue her dream", or "see what else is out there".
  15. How many of us were yelling this while Meghan was talking today? Your entire post was exactly what I was screaming at my tv. Last year I started commenting here to vent (after just lurking for years) so that I wouldn't need to yell at the tv, but sometimes Meghan's just too much. You know how after a political debate someone always totals up the amount of speaking time each candidate had? If that were done with this show, there's no question that Meghan would end up having the highest total nearly every day. Partly because she thinks it's crucial that people hear what she has to say, partly because she's incapable of expressing a clear, concise thought, partly because she makes the same point over and over again, and partly because she overstuffs her comments with long words and phrases, in her never ending quest to sound eloquent.
  16. Walking off the helicopter, Trump looked like he had been out gambling all night and had been cleaned out. Well what put Meghan in a snit all of a sudden? And then she has to repeat two of the exact same points she made in the previous segment. And then later makes a third Yale mention. Oh. brother. Meghan, you can keep your fucking paintings that you have in your home! Meghan - "Obliminate". Ha ha ha! The flow of the show today is craptacular. You know, some here have wondered if Meghan had lip injections, or if something's going on with her front teeth. For some reason, while looking at her today it occurred to me that some people who get lip injections end up with their front teeth being in shadow. That might be what's happening here, to a relatively minor extent.
  17. I wonder if they'll ask Meghan if she's excited about NYC entering phase 2 of reopening today?
  18. Well, it's only been two days in a row, so it might just be a coincidence, but it seems like the producers have finally figured out how to have a drama-free show when Meghan's there - just pack it full of guests, and skip the hot topic segments.
  19. I'm watching Chris Cuomo interview your mayor right now. I feel for you and your city.
  20. Meghan - "Let's not crap all over Republicans". "I would really like to see us all put our differences aside". "Please stop making this so partisan". Boy, Meghan was super-sensitive today. Oh, hell. That's all this country needs. To be just like The View. Prompter gremlin strikes again. Meghan then has to "just ask you from my own thoughts". Only she could make this sound like an anomaly, and not something other interviewers do on tv every day. So, $200 off a $1,095 countertop oven. I'm sure there'll be a run on these.
  21. That's it! I bet all this "woe is me" about a crib is Meghan's passive-aggressive way of angling for one of those fancy-schmancy cribs that Whoopie gifted Abby with two of a year ago.
  22. That's exactly what I was thinking. As she said, she's a 35-year-old grown woman. Suck it up! Millions of people do. It sounded as if she was implying that if this is so upsetting to a grown-up, well-adjusted woman such as herself (thinks Meghan), the problem is all because of the insensitivity of those who choose to call Father's Day "Father's Day". How egotistical do you have to be to seriously suggest a "rebranding of the day" so that poor little you won't be triggered.
  23. I don't recall exactly what she said right before this, but I remember wondering if she meant "no plan in place". With her, either could be right, or she might've been trying to say something entirely different. If she would just calm down, and slow down, she might be able to speak a bit more coherently.
  24. I thought, "She's home. Why is she wearing a push-up bra?" You'd think she'd want to be comfortable.
  25. At the beginning, Whoopie compared "A change is coming" to "winter is coming" from Game of Thrones. I wonder if Whoopie actually watched GoT. Maybe I interpreted it incorrectly, but I thought "winter is coming" signified something ominous, not something that you look forward to and want to happen. Meghan was so incensed this morning about NY's governor she mistakenly called him "Chris". Meghan - "I'm removing politics from this. We have to be consistent" and then proceeds to be political. Meghan's 'I don't like Trump' but "YOU'RE MAKING ME DEFEND HIM". No, dear, you're choosing to defend him. And here she goes giving advice that she almost never follows - "So let's be careful with our rhetoric right now. This is already a heightened time and already dangerous". She trots out this line every once in a while. To Meghan's inability to buy a crib in person - so what! This is a little girl who is used to getting what she wants when she wants it. Meghan - "This is an American problem. This is a problem that is bipartisan. It is not just a Trump administration problem. This is a problem that is globally and is really happening in this country". It seems like Meghan is not so much concerned about the people who are out and about than she is resentful that they aren't staying at home. More like, "No fair", and with a nasty attitude of 'If I have to do it, so do you!"
