  1. It was one of their morning news shows - New Day with Alistn Camerota and John Berman, starting about 20-25 minutes after the start of their 8am ET hour (it had already started when I turned it on, so I'm not sure exactly when the segment started). Unfortunately, I don't think CNN makes most of their news shows available to watch later. But maybe someone else will end up posting it on YouTube. The New Day twitter page does have a nearly two minute clip where Ana is talking about wearing masks, which I would post, but I'm not sure if it would be against the rules for me to post it here. It's about the 8th post (some have videos and some don't) down from the top and Ana's name is highlighted in blue in the description right above it.
  2. I turned on CNN just now, and Ana's on! For the first time in months! She's on a roll - she was giving a list of things that are more difficult to do than wearing a mask, and she finished by saying, "Wearing Spanx is harder than wearing a mask" Lol. I hadn't realized how much I miss her.
  3. I think Megan's tendency is to be negative about everything, anyway, and being pregnant during this time just ramps it up. For instance, there's an actress, Sonequa Martin-Green, who announced her pregnancy about two weeks before Meghan did, and when she was on Jeffrey Dean Morgan's and Hilarie Burton's Friday night talk show at the end of May, she said that when the stay-at-home orders began in March, her thought process was something like, 'Well, this is kind of nice. I can relax and take it easy'. Now, it's her second pregnancy, and she obviously knows pretty much what to expect (and has a crib, and other things she needs) so it's not an exact comparison, but she does have her 4 or 5 year old, so it's not like she doesn't have her hands full, but I was struck by the vast difference between Sonequa's attitude and Meghan's.
  4. Meghan also hates that something Schmidt is associated with is getting this much attention, too.
  5. Yep. Remember Meghan telling Dr. Biden that she holds grudges? This is an example of that. For all we know, she might dislike some (all?) of the other Lincoln Project founders as well. It's one thing for her to refrain from praising TLP ads. I get that. But it's petty immaturity for her to publicly dismiss them out of hand.
  6. Sara wasn't one of the regular hosts in the year they were nominated for, which (according to Wikipedia) was for shows airing between January 1 and December 31, 2019.
  7. It's longevity, and the fact that Barbara Walters is still with us, are the only things keeping it from being canceled. (Well, maybe not the only things. But acceptable ratings and an Emmy award don't equal quality, which ABC obviously doesn't care about.)
  8. Meghan once said that her parents sent her on an Outward Bound program. While not all of their programs are for troubled youths, she would hardly have said, 'my parents sent me' if it was something fun she wanted to do. (I wonder - did it help at all?) So, Meghan's had issues for a long time. But she's not the type to self-reflect. I can't imagine her ever changing her behavior on the show. Even if anyone would bother anymore to suggest to her ways she could improve, she would complain that she's being asked to "soften" herself, which she seems to equate with having good manners and an even tone of voice ( heck, she actually took offense when someone on her social media suggested that parenthood might soften her). And I don't think she's ever listened to anyone except her father (which is why she's on the show in the first place).
  9. Maybe Sunny still has her kids' crib, and Meghan is buttering her up, hoping.....😆
  10. The news on the Primetimer homepage has an item that says Page Six is reporting Sara's show won't be returning, but there's no official confirmation from ABC yet. With the regulars having so much trouble adapting to doing the show remotely, I can't imagine that the producers would prefer using multiple guest hosts when Meghan's off, so hopefully Sara will be given that opportunity.
  11. I'm pretty sure it is a jacket - a pin-stripe one, it looks like. The only thing I could think of is that the upholstery visible to us got ripped, or maybe stained, somehow, and this is how she's covering it up. It's hardly like she needs it there in case she gets cold. But knowing Whoopie, it's probably there for some weird reason. If it's still there when the show's back, maybe she'll tell us.
  12. Yes, both MSNBC and CNN covered Elijah's story last week in multiple segments. It should tell Meghan something that her preferred network didn't, apparently. You would think she would at least watch the half hour of her employer's nightly newscast in order to broaden her perspective, since she's admitted that Fox News is a bubble (which I think she characterized, when she first joined The View, as "comforting" or something similar).
  13. Whoa, Meghan's serving up an extra large batch of word salad this morning. She has some nerve laughing at Joy. At least Joy realized she couldn't think of the right word. I don't think Meghan is even aware of how many words she uses incorrectly, because she thinks she's smart and articulate.
  14. I just checked, and they're off all next week (plus tomorrow). I can't remember - do they usually take a week off for the 4th of July? Since they take a month of starting in early August, I didn't think they did. I'm wondering if they may be planning to work a little longer in August so that they'll be able to discuss Biden's vp pick.
  15. This is exactly right. They didn't want everyone rushing out and buying masks of any kind since there weren't even enough medical masks for healthcare workers. Dr. Fauci did say during this time period that he didn't think regular masks were worth wearing because they didn't provide 100% protection, and he also thought masks would cause people to touch their faces more. Obviously, live and learn. But some people just want to say "Well, if you didn't know all the answers right away, you're not worth listening to at all". Meghan and other people like her would rather direct their ire at completely apolitical people who are at least trying to do the right thing rather than at the politicians who are playing politics with what is going on and what people should be doing.
  16. I'm so glad they did a longer remembrance of Carl Reiner. Does anyone know who the woman was who was in the picture between him and Mel Brooks, where they were all wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts? I saw Carl Reiner on one of the late-night talk shows several years ago where he talked about how he and Mel Brooks had dinner together every night, and afterwards, for dessert, they would have an ice cream bar while they watched tv, and sometimes, he said, they would have two. That was so cute. I found this article, from February, of an interview they did together, and they were still having their nightly dinners together as of earlier this year (which I'm assuming, sadly, they had to end because of the virus). The Guardian Ooh, Meghan just has to interject that, "No one is worried about The Lincoln Project. No one" and gives a derisive chuckle, because, of course, Steve Schmidt is one of it's founders. I would love it if someone would ask her why, if no one is worried about them, is a conservative super PAC running ads on tv (in D.C,) against them (which I just happened to read about yesterday). Meghan's really trying to keep herself relevant. A week or so ago she was in contact with people in the Arizona governor's office, and today she "was speaking with Senator Kristen Sinema this morning". Why is she blaming Dr. Fauci for people not following the guidelines? And he isn't really in a position of "power" like she keeps saying he is. Why doesn't she bring up the president not telling people to wear a mask, or bothering to wear one himself. She just wants to be on the anti-Fauci bandwagon with her tribe. And I haven't heard anyone say, "It's just Republicans not wearing masks" Meghan - "One should behave civilized". There's at least one of these every day. Added - I found the clip of the story I remembered, when Carl Reiner talked about having ice cream bars (Skinny Cow bars, to be exact) while watching tv with Mel Brooks. I looked for it because I couldn't remember the brand name, and I knew he had referred to it, and it was bugging me. It starts at about the 3:30 mark -
  17. That thought crossed my mind, too.
  18. Meghan - "I have six things to say, so bear with me". Smart Meghan - "Me and my husband". Actually. wouldn't a gun range have built-in social distancing? She watched 40 different clips of this incident? You'd think it was the crime of the century. After saying the "majority" of protestors has been extremely peaceful, Meghan quickly changed it to "some". Meghan seems short of breath this morning. Was this thing with the gun-wielding couple worth an entire 13 minute segment? If I didn't know that she's been staying at home, I would think that Sunny had lip injections or fillers of some kind in the last 24 hours. When she's not talking it looks like she's pursing them, and the right side of her upper lip looks odd. Maybe she used one of those plumping lip glosses, and it worked unevenly. I tried one of those years ago, and it burned, which I could feel for a while, even after wiping it off right away.
  19. We also didn't have to hear Meghan act like she was the sole reason the show won an Emmy. I'm actually shocked she decided to forego the opportunity to do this. I figured the reason they were doing shows this week, and just taking Friday off (when every single nighttime talk show is in repeats all week), was just so they could brag about the Emmy win, if it happened. We didn't have to hear Meghan vacillate between telling Joh Stewart how big of a fan she is, and how much she misses him, and then attempt to grill him about something or other just so she could continue being a member of her tribe. I guess her divided loyalties just created too much inner turmoil for her, so, strong woman that she is, she decided to sit this one out. I was going to comment that Whoopie didn't even mention Meghan not being there, and then at the end of the show she did, saying "she forgot" to mention it, but why do it at that point? As Whoopie said, it was obvious. The reason just has to be that Meghan called in and told them to have Whoopie do that.
  20. How cute that Brian and his daughter (I guess?) dressed up to watch the Emmys. Whoopie might not know this, because it was before her time on the show, but according to Wikipedia, The View did win for best talk show in 2003 (their best host win was in 2009). The Daytime Emmys first split the Talk Show category into two parts, Entertainment, and Informative, in 2008, but this was the first year The View was put in the Informative category. I wonder who got to decide that.
  21. Ooh, no Meghan today. What a nice surprise.
  22. I'm not positive, but I don't think the hosts get an Emmy to "take home", so to speak, for the best show award, and that's why Brian accepted it. I know when a primetime tv show wins "best (type of program)", the producer(s) get the award. But if the ladies win best host of an informative talk show, all six ladies would get one of their own.
