  1. We shall see, my friend, we shall see! I thought it said that all the film the had was what they "found" three months later or something. That's the problem with me, I take literary license with everything I watch!
  2. All through this episode, I was so happy - I think it's an awesome idea and I really love it. I also think the found footage trope will keep it from getting bogged down and keep me from getting hung up on inconsistencies, so I can just enjoy. Plot holes can be hand waved due to missing footage. I think Matt came back because he's basically suicidal and to help his sister clear her name. I found the explanations for everyone coming back fairly believable. Lee, Matt and Shelby's lives are in tatters, they can't get away from the events in any case, might just as well go back. Even though I would have left the second teeth rained from the sky, they didn't, so their situation is outside my experience. My money is on Kathy Bates as the survivor. The production crew dies too, right? Otherwise, the footage wouldn't have been missing.
  3. Thanks! I guess it would be different for zombies he created vs others.
  4. Would 10k have to keep taking the serum if he were far away from Murphy? For some reason, I thought there was sort of a control perimeter. Outside that perimeter, outside Murphy's control.
  5. I forgot about that kiss! I thought she was an actual employee of the park. I think she got dressed in period clothes and went in as part of her job.
  6. I thought exactly the opposite! Bernard is a robot plant - maybe by Anthony Hopkins' character. He just seems a little off to me. I really hope they aren't messing around with the timeline without making it apparent. For me, there's enough mystery with the maze, Bernard, and growing self-awareness in the robot population! I also think we could do with some more interesting female guests. Why do the men get to have all the fun?
  7. I was really gratified that the recap featured all my moments of disbelief! In regards to the production crew telling the COs or the sheriff about illegal activity, there might be some sort of agreement that they don't repeat what inmates say/do in order to get more "real" footage. I don't know. That's the only way I can explain it. By the time it airs, many of these inmates will be gone. I couldn't believe they just let the women sit at those tables. Shouldn't standard procedure be to empty the stupid cups on the tables? They didn't even sniff them. Either sexism is working in the inmates favor or there's something going on between these inmates and the COs. That was some slipshod S****, right there. I wonder how much the COs make, low salary is impetus to hang back and make sure not to do anything risky as well as a factor in taking bribes. They should have pulled Dion. When I heard him say that, my stomach clenched. They have a psychologist on staff, right? Couldn't they pull him and have the psychologist talk to him. Oh, yeah, it's haaaaard to pull inmates without arousing suspicion, I forgot. INMHO, Inmate Ashley is all show, no go. She's young, she's smart, she knows that to get out of that hell hole, even to a better jail/prison, she needs to stay out of trouble. I swear, if I didn't know this was a real jail, I would think the entire thing was fake.
  8. I know! The aunt was really bad. I have no idea what her role in this is supposed to be. There's already the paranoid son and the missing daughter. At least when I saw the dragon, I briefly felt something besides confusion.
  9. Am I the only person who watched this? It was pretty bad all around. I'll probably keep watching it, just to see how bad it gets.
  10. I thought it was pretty good for a network pilot. I was relieved that the time travel rules were simple -- fewer rules to break = better suspension of belief. I thought it was great that the bad guys (although I'm not convinced they're truly bad) have the flashy machine and the trio got the clunky, old model. I also thought that for a pilot the time travel team had some great chemistry and included an African American scientist and he wasn't killed in the first episode! Although they did make him the chauffeur (so minus one for that). I was involved, I laughed at things that were actually supposed to be funny, and I thought the twist at the end was great. It's also a show I can watch with my kid. Hope it stays on track and doesn't get cancelled!
  11. I was also kind of a Zak fan. I felt like he had a plan and was working on executing it and that he was fairly level headed. I am a fan no more. It seems like Zak just can't handle the truth. Jeff was telling him he was a self-centered jerk and all Zak could do was try to start a fight and "don't bring my wife into this." Jeff wasn't casting aspersions on Ashleigh -- he was actually sticking up for her. Also, cry me a river about taking care of your baby. Baby learning curves aren't that steep. Feed, clean, play, sleep, repeat over and over and over. He also lives with his parents and travels a lot for work. Unless he takes the baby, that means dear old mom and dad are doing a lot of the care taking. As for his excuse that he didn't know things were so tough for Ashleigh -- maybe shut up and stop complaining for five seconds and she'd tell you. Complete inability to put himself in another's shoes. I guess the reason I'm angry about all that is I see that Zak's a scared bully and we don't really need more of those in law enforcement. There was something off about that whole Stephanie thing. The guard who dropped her off said something about seeing what he could do to help, didn't he? That made me think her story was real. I also thought it was odd that they were accepting checks for bail. Unless they're cashier's checks, wouldn't you have to wait for them to clear before granting bail? So many things are so f'd in that jail, I can't even comment on Sheriff Knowles and the COs complete lack of professionalism or even care that they appear to be correctly doing their jobs.
  12. I feel like this is all moving too fast. Couldn't we just have had a week of cold spots and thumps and maybe an escalation to the point we're at now? I mean, this was only the second episode. I expect everyone to die next week. I've decided (for myself) that the reason they can't leave the house is an obsession with the house caused by the ghosts. The guy in the cellar had it. I mean, if you're going to leave the house to live in a cellar, couldn't you just leave completely and live in your car? That's why Lee brought her daughter back. All that being said, I really like AHS, I'm glad it's back. I've actually enjoyed every season.
  13. Maybe the Sheriff is actually trying to bring to light for everyone what he, the inmates, and the staff are dealing with; hoping that attention will make people more amenable to giving the jail proper funding. I find it hard to believe that anyone involved in a reality show is really that altruistic, but I guess it could be!
  14. I can't believe Zac is consistently acting like such an unsupportive, self-absorbed, ass. I also can't believe the production is showing it; I thought we would stay their golden boy. Maybe that's all they got footage-wise, so they had to use it? You are 100% correct -- more money = more COs = (maybe) a safer jail. That's what makes the sheriff's comments about valuable intel like, "have the COs come by the pods more," so laughable. He didn't already know his COs had a minimum presence? He does know they're only staffing two COs overnight, right? I didn't get the newspaper/magazine ink thing. How can you make permanent ink from that? I thought they would use ink from pens. Off to google!
  15. I totally agree. That's why I'm usually not on Cameron's side. I know Donna says she did it for the good of the company but I think her motives are that she just didn't want to deal with it. Everything is such a struggle with Cameron, I don't blame Donna for just trying to coast by on this one. My main thing was, why not fess up? You've been caught. I don't see it as the biggest betrayal of all betrayals. All in all, in my opinion, it's just a symptom that Donna needs to go out, get a project of her own, and be a boss. She has my support!
  16. I really hope Boz isn't dying. Hopefully he's just experiencing some sort of post-midlife crisis. I'm not usually on Cameron's side but I am firmly there in regards to the lie. Why Donna didn't just fess up when it became clear that Camden knew, I have no idea. Donna should probably get off the cross, try to get Mutiny to buy her out, poach a few good coders and do something of her own. It seems like she's tired of being the supporting lady but can't quite make the leap. I would love it if Diane and Donna had an affair; I love it when Diane is on screen and I think she would be good for Donna. I wonder when Gordon last went to the doctor. Texas, maybe? I think he needs a return trip. Just logging your symptoms in a notebook isn't really going to provide any sort of relief.
  17. The info. on my listings is: I had to double check to make sure I was recording the correct show. It sounds like one of those Ghost Hunters descriptions
  18. I am happy that Eph (although he's a complete loser) and Quinlan stole the book. I appreciate Abraham and think he's a great character but a season of him muttering through that book would have done me in. Maybe Quinlan (love that character) will rub off on Eph and his story line will improve!
  19. I agree, it seemed staged. Didn't they get rid of another person Sheri had difficulty with? I thought Ryan made the right move fixing Garza's hand. Maybe you shouldn't get respect by doing favors but, really, he kind of saved the guy. What other currency does Ryan have, really? Garza might not have to go to the infirmary and may never face repercussions for that fight. Although, if he broke his hand beating the other guy, wouldn't that guy go to the infirmary? He might not rat Garza out but wouldn't there be some sort of investigation. Maybe they could match the broken face with the broken hand. I give Quintin another week. Every time he's on, I have to laugh because his reactions are the same as mine! What in the **** is going on in this jail?!
  20. Did anyone else think the person Gordo was talking to over the radio wasn't actually real? I like Joe's character when he's not interacting with any of the main mutiny characters. It's interesting to watch this amalgamation of Jobs, Ellison, and McAfee. We'll see which route he actually goes. I thought the music, as always, was great. The nods to the period are still good. I really wish they had set it in Silicon Valley rather than San Francisco, though. I keep thinking about how there weren't any tech startups or really any tech companies in San Francisco. The rent was too high, even in the late '80s. It's not like the City is really a character in the show at this point anyway. They could have easily been in San Mateo or Palo Alto. I know it's annoying when people from a particular place bring up inconsistencies in the setting of a story in that place -- maybe I can let it go now that I've had my say.
  21. I didn't realize it was renewed until I saw the promo last night. I really can't believe it got renewed for 3 years. I don't know if I'm going to watch or not. It's one of those things that is so awful, I almost have to watch it.
  22. Maybe they should just change it to a zombie fails video format. See zombies fall from balconies, crash through roofs, get stuck in wells, etc. I was so distracted by this question, I missed 1/2 of the Nick beat down. I like Nick and his dirty, shambling ways but I'm getting tired of his magical junkie instincts always saving the day. Is it possible the pharmacist was bitten and then just cut out the infected section? I mean I know it's not possible but in this show is it possible? I cast my vote with the kill off the entire cast and start again. I don't need to know the origins of the virus or anything like that. I would just really like to see some stuff I haven't already seen. I realize these characters are at the beginning and don't know, etc., etc. The thing is, I do know. I can't unknow it, so I need to see something new to not be bored. I'll probably forget how bad it is by next summer, though. P.S. Maybe there's a tiny, little space under the bar where Maddie and Strand can hide!
  23. I noticed that Jeff said when people's relationships are in trouble they either A - have a baby or B - build a house. I thought to myself, he's doing both! Although it seems to me that both he and Gage are still committed, this isn't the first time he's rattled off a "fact" about people that would apply to his own situation. As far as Zoila goes, maybe Zoila and Jeff need to redefine their relationship. Zoila seems tired of working and Jeff seems to still want her in his life. They can have that without the drama of "firing" Zoila. Maybe just give her a small apartment, call her a friend, and let it go at that. Although Jeff probably can't do that because he has huge issues around self-worth and seems to worry a lot about whether or not people really like him or are just using him to see what they can get.
  24. So far, I like this season much more than the first. Really liked that they at least paid lip service to working on their cover stories. Is it possible the Ryan changing his name could cause a problem? I'm not sure how the jail databases cross reference other databases. I guess they probably wouldn't have access to the Kentucky DMV. I am wondering about MonaLisa's daughter's situation as well. I never really understood why MonaLisa was so angry at the police and COs. Her anger at "the system," I get. Perhaps a 10 year mandatory minimum is not the best way to reform a first time offender. Regardless, it seems like her daughter deserved some punishment and needed some help with her drug problem. I would imagine her daughter is in prison, not jail, so maybe she's getting some help. Without more information, MonaLisa is being portrayed as an excuse filled parent who thinks her honor roll baby girl should have been sent home after committing armed robbery. Sherri should have memorized the stupid PIN number. Maybe in a maximum security prison, the inmates are so locked down, she never really had to deal with them. As far as who will make it -- none of the guys seems particularly likely to make it through (imho).
  25. That's right. A little bit more info. would have made the whole shut down blitzkrieg a little more understandable. Just for me, anyway.
