    I am so grateful that my mother is still sharp although her short-term memory isn't so hot. She's in assisted living and uses a wheelchair most of the time. I'll felt so sorry when I've read accounts of parents with dementia who don't understand why their children can't visit them during this pandemic.

    I was lucky that my aging mother took the initiative in moving out of her house, quitting driving, and hiring a fiduciary financial adviser. Her adviser handles her bills, taxes, investments while my sister and I (both child-free now) handle the doctor appointments.

    I saw a Hyundai Elantra ad where a dog digs several holes and hides the car keys in one of them. The guy really looked like Pole.
