  1. Week forty-four: three of five. Eureka! Russia -- titanic!
  2. Week forty-three: two of five. I was on vacation this week, with limited chances to watch Jeopardy, so I'm blaming my low score on being in vacation mode! @Prevailing Wind already suggested bringing soybeans, so I think we need some Vermont maple sugar candy, and, perhaps, a cup of tea for Sherlock. I don't know what would be an appropriate food addition for Sodom!
  3. Week forty-two: two of five with one asterisk.
  4. Week forty-one: one. Just one. Argh!
  5. Week forty: four of five, with the asterisk! I had no clue on the brand that all of those athletes represented. Tomorrow is West Virginia's 160th birthday! So I guess I'll have to make a birthday cake, to go with @Clanstarling's ice cream! My preference -- chocolate cake with peanut butter/buttercream icing.
  6. I wonder how Mayim felt about the TS of Bette Midler. The two of them appeared in the 1988 film Beaches, with Mayim playing Midler's character at the age of 11.
  7. Week thirty-nine: three of five without any asterisks, or Ericsterisks, or whatever we're calling them this week. We definitely need another tea party this week!
  8. I also started with AUDIO today, followed by TEACH, and got.... Wordle 357 4/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟨 ⬛🟨⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟨🟨⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  9. For Wordle, I alternate as my first word either AUDIO or TEACH. For Globle, I've been using Ukraine, and I've gotten pretty good at estimating distances from that fixed spot. And I got Friday's Final Jeopardy right, from looking at maps to figure out my Globle guesses!
  10. I said Jason and . . . . Bob. I should have said Kit. You would have been wrong - it was a tenor sax! (I played alto sax for years in junior high, high school, and university band. The alto sax has a straight neck from the mouthpiece to the bend at the top of the body. The tenor sax has an upward curve in that same area.)
  11. Interesting. His only Star Wars writing experience so far has been writing Solo: A Star Wars Story. But he does have some familial connections that probably helped. His dad, Lawrence Kasdan, wrote SW: The Empire Strikes Back (Episode 5), SW: Return of the Jedi (Episode 6), SW: The Force Awakens (Episode 7), and Solo: A Star Wars Story, along with a SW radio drama and some SW video games.
  12. It is manna from heaven. It is ambrosia. It is . . . I can't think of a superlative superb enough to describe the deliciousness that is a fresh scone, covered in clotted cream and strawberry marmalade. I'll be in my bunk...
  13. Week thirty-eight: two of five with one asterisk. I got Trafalgar and telegraph. In honor of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, I'll bring some T, er, some tea - I've read that her favorite is Earl Grey with milk, no sugar. (But I'll bring sugar. I can't drink tea without it!)
  14. Is the Pope Catholic? Of course, I've been to Hillbilly Hotdogs. It's about a 15-minute drive from my home. The food is great (assuming that you like hotdogs!), and the décor is decidedly eclectic. Dining inside an old yellow school bus is a unique experience! (To be perfectly honest, I hate slaw on my dogs. I want it on the side, assuming it's crunchy and not too soupy!)
  15. Week thirty-seven: two of five with the post-polio asterisk. I think we need a Memorial Day barbecue! And as the resident West Virginian, I'll bring the sauce and slaw. (Traditional West Virginia hot dogs are served with sauce, essentially a very smooth chili without the beans, and coleslaw. On the hot dogs! Mustard, chopped onions, and relish are all optional.)
  16. Loved it! And it answered a question that I did not know that I have had for 45 years -- how did Leia know Obi-Wan? She sends her droid off with a message, a cry for help, to some old hermit on a desert planet on the Outer Rim, while she is a princess and senator. Her message sounds as if Obi-Wan is an old friend, and now we know how and when they met.
  17. It was a bit of a surprise (and delight) to see Hugh Dancy in Downton Abbey: A New Era, playing a movie director, complete with his actual British accent!
  18. Week thirty-six: three of five, M/W/F! In honor of the Preakness, I made a hot crab dip in the crockpot today. Yummy! I'll make another batch.
  19. Week thirty-five: three of five, with the first asterisk! I had no idea on the music festivals on Tuesday, and, despite seeing The Godfather more times than I can remember, I couldn't pull Clemenza out of the deep recesses of my brain. Is anyone bring cannoli this week? Without the gun, of course.
  20. I think Ethan Peck sounds like his grandfather. And looks a bit like him, too.
  21. According to the CC, she spoke in to Hemmer in Aenar and to Spock in Vulcan.
  22. I'm a bit late . . . . On Friday, with the I, Tiberius clue, was I the only one who immediately shouted I, Clavdivs? I'll show myself out.
  23. Week thirty-four: Three of five! I nailed the first three days and then fell apart. And I've flown into and through Hartsfield-Jackson Airport dozens of times. Argh! It's Kentucky Derby Weekend, and I'm fixing Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders for the crew coming over to watch the race. (I'll make an extra pan full for the table for three.) Then we're going to watch Spiderman: No Way Home before heading out next week to see the new Doctor Strange movie. I need to brush up on my popular culture. (Yeah, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...)
  24. Week thirty-three: two of five. I had a Monday and Friday kind of week. I'm going out to eat this weekend with a couple of friends that I have not seen face to face since the start of the pandemic. We're headed to a great Indian restaurant, so I'll bring a couple of varieties of Indian bread - garlic naan and chapati.
  25. Week thirty-two: three of five, without the asterisk. I couldn't come up with the Ivory Coast (my guess was Algeria, as I knew they were once colonized by the French) or Masterclass (I assumed Audible.com). But Sleeping Beauty was a piece of cake! We have the cast album somewhere; Scumps (the drinking song of the two kings) was one of my favorites as a kid. Lucky I didn't become an alcoholic, like a few relatives of mine!
