That "season finale" thing threw me as well so that made the episode more tense. I couldn't watch the screen as Val showed up at the rental house at the end. I was sure Mark wasn't alone and my heart was just breaking for Val. She knows her marriage is imploding and yet she refuses to do anything about it other than trying to not stir the pot. That note she left was just too much. I loved Val taking a stand out in the desert to wheel-chair guy and the assistant director/female, she had every right to be pissed about waiting for 12 hours in the damn heat when the new script wasn't even finished. Why couldn't they shoot this on Sunday and let Paulie G finish the script that Saturday? We found out about Mickey being diagnosed with cancer in the episode where Val is taking improve classes. We were first alerted to Mickey having a health issue in the season premier. This episode needs to be Lisa's submission for the Emmy's.

I don't know, I could see Dawn getting married that quick in order to stick it to Nurse de la Serda. She knows what she wants, she wants someone who wants her and is willing take care of her and be there for her, not be hot one moment and cold the next like Patsy was. Dawn has a guy who is willing to take on all her debt and has been interested in her from afar for awhile. I do think that this is going to get messy next season(?) since she likes the idea of two guys wanting her. This will blow up in her face big time. DiDi has been concerned about her salary for awhile now and I have a feeling that her husband at home has probably been asking questions as to why isn't making more money with this new job and everything. Truth be told she should have found out all the details when she got promoted regarding salary and other perks, but I would be there w/her giving an ultimatum/time frame to get the pay and back pay she deserved. This episode was great and I hope the show gets nominated for an Emmy for comedy series as well as Laurie Metcalf for best actress, she was perfect in this episode and I felt bad for her as she realized she was in over her head. I would think she would be protected somewhat since after speaking w/the Hospice program they dropped her at the first signs of trouble since Jayma Mays character didn't explain everything fully and gave her the go ahead to do what was done. It was confusing so i'm probably getting everything wrong w/how it all played out. I loved Dr. James quick hand off of the interns, it showed how much she couldn't care about them overall. It was also great seeing Dr. James give Nurse de la Serda some words of encouragement then bad mouth him behind his back. Does Mary Kay Place's character know that Dr. James is married or does she just not care. The final scene was great and perfect if this happens to be the series finale.

Season One Episode Talk

I always thought on Ace of Cakes that the flavor of the cakes played into the presentation, they didn't make dry cakes or anything that was inedible unless it was just a design aspect only that the purchaser wanted. -

Ugh...well we all knew how this would all play out by the second week. I agree Erin's presentation was memorable, but seriously all three of her baked goods failed...that should have put her at second place at best. I was rooting for Naylet but damn girl, clean up your presentation more. I'm not saying she should have had perfect lines and all that, but she could have tightened up lots of "loose threads" there considering her baked goods were all perfect. As for Bill, i'm not sure where I stand at, yes he was ambitious with the timeframe and all, but he didn't think outside of the box, it was more or less I did this before and it will work again considering we saw the picture of he and his girl w/the exact same design...plus the chalet was collapsing on itself, although his baked goods were perfect as well. When it comes down to it Bill or Naylet should have been in first place, but sure as hell Erin needed to be second place due to her disastrous baked goods. I could just see Suzie and Tusch critiquing Erin on Food Network Star. "We love your stories about your family and how it ties into food, but your perkiness feels a little fake to us....and you're food sucked today too...we expected more from you Erin." -
I just finished watching the HBO movie Game Change and then re-watched the recent Sarah Paulson interview on the View. When they said that Sarah and Nicole never met before the movie b/c they wanted to keep Nicole out of more hot water and trouble, to protect her basically, does anyone have any more info as to why? Is it b/c she shared insider information about Palin and their tumultuous relationship for the book?

Well this was supposed to be the year of Barbara on ABC right? I have a feeling we are about to get a farewell tour part deux like Cher on her seemingly never-ending farewell tour. I still think it will be William, Kate, George, and baby to come. Isn't she obsessed w/the Royals?

In my area we had the godmother vs her godson for the $5000 she loaned him and never got back. I really felt the that Judge MM got this one wrong and ruled from emotion in a sense b/c the defendant wouldn't shut up and let her speak. I could totally see the plaintiff giving the money from her windfall to her children and to her godson and then perhaps she felt slighted by him and decides now it was a loan. I think the fact that the plaintiff had no other family members to verify it was a loan either in person or by written statement says a lot. I also felt she was pretty shady in the hall interview. I could be wrong though, but I do think it was a gift and later on down the road the godmother decided she wanted the money back.

God today was tedious... Whoopi's thoughts and looks on Rosie O doing her crafts at the table says all we need to know about the Rosie O and Whoopi relationship these days. Hands if you think that Prince William & Kate were her #1 most fascinating, not that she got an interview w/them.

I loved that when Nicole was going on about how scared she was Rosie O made sure she knew that we were all scared. I felt like Nicole was trying to equate it that unless you were at the Pentagon or in the WTC that they had the monopoly on being scared that day. Rosie O seems to be making all the co-hosts defend their comments and explain what comes out of their mouths.

That's what it seems or what Dr. James thought would happen, but as we saw last week it seems the money goes directly to the hospital and is earmarked for the department since we saw Nurse de la Serda trying to use it to buy new televisions for the rooms and then the hospital board putting a halt on Dr. James research. I think Dr. James thinks that the money is hers to use for her personal research (since she signed off for all of the hospice beds and other programs to start up there), but the hospital board doesn't see it that way, which is right imo. Dr. James didn't think this through all the way.

I think the honeymoon period is over b/t Rosie O and Nicole Wallace. So Rosie P had to step away for a segment due to low blood sugar? Perhaps that did happen, but i'm thinking she can't take the arguments and tense feelings b/t the other co-hosts. If she makes it to the end of the year...well i'll be surprised. I'm thinking that when she takes an extended absence for the Broadway play next month she won't return. At this point I think Rosie O could point out that the sky is blue and Whoopi would find some reason/way to contradict her. Really Whoopi...the released photos might possibly be photoshopped?

Well so far we have Jane confirming that she caught him shooting up while filming the Comeback to Valerie who had no clue he was on drugs. I'm guessing that Tom losing it in front of Valerie also confirms Paulie G's story as well as we found out Paulie G was in rehab, not that it says much as anyone can really go to rehab for any reason these days.

I understand the joke that Whoopi was going for w/the sound in the studio, but how classless. This ladies and gentlemen is an EGOT winner. I love Rosie O, but every-time she brings up the war in Iraq after 9/11 and all of that I have flashbacks to her first stint on the View and it just makes me uneasy and nervous and makes me sweat. I know, it's strange. Ugh that conversation about torture was just torture to me to have to listen to it and all the cross-talk and arguing. It really was the panel vs Nicole Wallace, but of course you have to defend when you hitch your horse to what could be seen as the wrong party. I love Martha Stewart, she and Rosie O have such a good rapport. I will always remember that when Martha was going through her legal troubles in court, Rosie O would show up every day and sit behind Martha w/a bag of peanut m&m's and offer them to Martha. That, is how you show support to someone you truly admire.

DiDi did say that it was a nickname, and i'm guessing it was a family type nickname after the story that DiDi shared about growing up in that household. They are in a professional situation and that didn't give Nurse de la Serda the right to use it; he probably overheard DiDi use it in how they referred to her and he ran with it. DiDi warned him to stop calling her by that name and he could care less. He is a clueless dolt and needs to be taken down a peg or ten.

I have a feeling Whoopi bitching about not being able to find non-Frozen Christmas Ornaments is just crap and gives her reason to throw shade at Frozen and at Rosie O. I mean can you see any reasonable situation where Whoopi would not be throwing a fit in Disneyland/Disneyworld about where the hell are the non-Frozen ornaments to some cast member. I could even see her saying that she is a personal guest of Disney and works for them as well as being an EGOT winner therefore she shouldn't have to pay for some ornaments. I could see her being one of those celebrities that would make you roll your eyes as soon as she leaves if you ever had to wait on her.

Season One Episode Talk

Nancy's issue w/Bill seems to be the fact that he is in a holiday baking competition, where presentation is everything really. Bill is a great cook, but he doesn't seem to be much on the presentation aspect. She has tried to help him by telling him just a few sprigs of holly, some berries, some pine needles or something could help. When he does it's just to shut her up or her just half asses it. The fact that he knows going into the presentation to the judges that Nancy will ding him for not making it festive at all shows that he is full of himself and thinks he is above it in a sense. He better bring his A-game in the final challenge or else he is screwed. I think the rule is making great food is about 75% of these challenges and presentation is 25%. Hell Duff knows this as does Nancy b/c they both serve food to the public. -
I was also puzzled how she fed her entire family w/just that one prime rib as well as that dinky cauliflower and broccoli dish...let's face it, most of the family members don't look like tiny eaters. I was looking to see at the actual dinner if there was more than one casserole dish, b/c if not the portion sizes so everyone can eat must be tiny...like Bob Cratchet household pre-Scrooge coming around tiny portions.

Throw me into the Bill is smug category. I understand getting annoyed that your food isn't as hot as you think to the point of winning a challenge, but keep it bottled up or for the one on one interviews. Bill does make some interesting desserts, and to be honest when he made the fortune cookie I was interested in him, but his disdain for not winning is tiresome. -
I think it's just that, she doesn't want to get put back into that "big, fat, lesbian Rosie" vs the new Republican on the panel. Rosie O knows what the outcome will be if she pushes back even a little against Nicole, she will get the same results as before when it was her vs Bitsy. I don't know Faux News views on Nicole Wallace and if they support her or don't since she is still seen as one of the reasons Palin failed, but I have no doubt they would roast Rosie O again if she went on the attack against Nicole Wallace and the Republican Party. I don't think Nicole can defend herself very well either and Rosie O knows this and that's why she holds back against her and Rosie P....w/Whoopi though, Rosie is playing it smart and still get the digs in and her points across.

When I first watched the episode I was afraid that after Dawn fired DiDi's sister that she didn't fish out those reports that were trashed b/c she was still pissed and just lied about mailing them out, but i'm glad that I was wrong. I love these three characters, Dr James, DiDi, and Dawn, so much. I really wish that "Princess" could have gone after Nurse De La Serda and kicked his ass. He reported DiDi for saying "fairy" but couldn't realize that him calling her "princess" was unprofessional? I wanted there to be a payoff from Patsy's peanut can, like he could tell some were missing, or we find out that the nurses have been messing with it and that's why nobody is to touch it. I really hope that from the previews next week that the three girls throw his sorry ass under the bus to save their own behinds. So are we to take it that June Squibb's character has been there since last season, just not shown? I love June Squibb and she is great on this show, I was elated when her personality came back talking smack about everyone. I want to see her back next season. I love the give and take b/t Dawn and Dr. James. I love how Dawn changed it from one mouse in the ceiling to at least two or more just to piss her off from not taking her serious. Miss Birdie was so cute feeding that mouse her toast.

I loved how Rosie O slipped in the Bill Cosby tweeting his thanks to his supporters in her comments. I know that was such a slam against Whoopi, even though Whoopi acknowledged he tweeted her; but I bet that made Whoopi furious b/c nobody had mentioned it at all previously. I love Rosie O so much, she has figured out how to counteract Whoopi and her ignorance about topics.

I don't watch the show live, I usually watch it the next day or so. This is the only show I watch where I have to get myself prepared to watch it b/c I cringe so much at stuff that Valerie says and does...am I alone in this? I can't see the show going w/Paulie G and Valerie sleeping together, at least not in real life. I could see Paulie G overdosing, but I really think that Mickey will end up dying (I mean we get comments from Mickey about his condition each episode it seems, not that Valerie is listening) and it will shock Valerie and she will re-think her life and how she reacts to others and lets others treat her, kind of like the old friend from the Palm Springs episode got Valerie to loosen up.

She went on Leno, her second Leno mind you, to promote the Comeback which premiered the night before. From what we have been told this season, Room and Bored was cancelled after the first season, which ended up canceling the Comeback (even though she was told she was picked up for a second season of the Comeback after the first night's ratings).
-
I do think her marriage to Mark is in trouble, and it probably always has been since she started years ago w/the documentary crew for the the Comeback. I get Mark's frustrations w/everything Valerie does, renting out their house to film crews for what was at first the Valerie characters home scenes and now they are almost shooting entirely at her house it seems by constructing sets for other locations. We never saw how the Comeback affected Valerie's career did we, nor were we ever told. At the premier party in the first season we saw how Paulie G was shown in a positive light and Valerie was this whirlwind mess of an actress making his life hell basically from the editing of the footage. I'm wondering if Paulie G bought into that and that's how he is now portraying Valerie in his show. I mean can you imagine how the scene where Valerie calls Paulie G's voicemail when he threw the party at his house and invited everyone but Valerie. All we saw was the mean voicemail, which she had every right to say to his ass. For all we know Paulie G did a sit-down interview saying he invited her and she blew him off. I just think that Paulie G bought into his portrayal in the Comeback, if it continued to show him in a good way, and combined w/his rampant drug use back then he sees himself as the injured party even though we all know how it really was. I loved that Valerie got some clarification from the NYT woman about her "brave" performance. She now knows that it isn't about her looks. I was on Paulie G's side about not letting Valerie see the dailies based on how critical Valerie is on how she comes off. It is a smart move and one that I think lots of directors should enforce. Finally a voice, Tom, says out loud to Val asking her what the hell she is doing w/Paulie G after all he put her through previously.

The horse case was all kinds of crazy. That horse owner was a little off in the head imo. I have pets myself, and I understand being connected to them and having something so out of the norm happening is shocking like this horse and the freak accident that occurred, so please no attacks here. She just seemed like nothing else mattered in her life other than that horse. Did she have kids or were her animals, at this point in her life, her "kids?" Pet loss therapy, getting the name tattooed, bringing the cremated horse remains in a bucket to court, just...wow...I guess i'm just always skeptical of people amping up the emotion in order to get a bigger payoff. I could be wrong here of course.
