  1. I looked too and you're right: https://www.trulia.com/p/il/chicago/1831-n-paulina-st-chicago-il-60622--2104156831 Almost everything she does on the show is taken from her own house.
  2. The kitchen was horrible. A fireplace? The mantle? Painting the antiques black? And the lights over the island? They're all rusted on the inside! I'm sorry but if I'm paying $1m+ for a house, I want all new in it. Also, what's up with now importing antiques from Texas? I thought she puts Chicago back into houses. As much as I dislike Alison, it's probably for the best she got rid of Donovan. Him trying to cut corners on structure to save a few bucks was unbelievable. No wonder he wasn't getting inspections done on his other houses, they probably wouldn't have passed.
  3. I agree it was a time lapsed photo but that does not explain both ferris wheels. If the camera was panning left or right, you would get more than one ferris wheel or, if the ferris wheel was moving (like the people walking), you'd get more than one ferris wheel. However, the camera was stationary in this shot and the ferris wheel does not move from one place to another.
  4. I see that now but that still doesn't explain the ferris wheel being duplicated. The ferris wheel doesn't move. The camera does slightly pan out (not left and right) during the shot but that wouldn't cause the duplication.
  5. Did the show rehab Navy Pier? I live in the Chicago suburbs and worked downtown for 20 years and, as far as I know, Navy Pier only has one ferris wheel yet they showed two on the show (images attached). Did they really CGI Navy Pier? If I didn't live and grow up near Chicago, I probably wouldn't watch this show. Allison really really bothers me. She's so full of herself and so not too swift. How long ago did she buy those closet doors (and how much did she spend on them) and she just realized when they got them to the house that they opened inward? Is it wrong that I'm glad she lost over $90k on the Wood house? At least this house didn't have the "largest island we've ever done". I was also so glad the house sold for under $2 million. I know it was just under $2 million but for as many times as she said it was a $2 million house, I was happy it didn't hit the mark.
  6. Watched a couple more episodes over the weekend. This show is so bad it's good. Don't remember which episode it was but it really sounded like they got an inspection AFTER the closed on the house (and, of course, the inspection turned up problems). Don't people usually get inspections before they purchase homes?
  7. I found this show a couple weeks ago and was very interested since I've lived in the Chicago burbs for almost 50 years and have a lot of family in Chicago. After watching just three episodes, I've come to the conclusion that these two are the dumbest rehabbers I have ever seen. They bought a house with a renter in it (even though they were on a schedule) and then it took them four months to get rid of them. They framed an addition on a house and obviously nobody was checking the work and it cost them $30k to tear it down and rebuild it. They pre-sold a house and then still allowed the buyers to constantly make changes which kept pushing back the closing date (did that one ever close?). Personally, I don't care for the half modern with historical elements in the houses. Either go all modern or all historical. Half and half just looks terrible.
