It seems odd they wouldn’t use a different name for the main character/title since there’s already a show currently airing with “Kevin” in the title.

I still think they missed out by not having Penny continue in acting and have her get a part in some sort of sci-fi show. That seems like it would have had plenty of storyline potential.

The lady from HR is now the dean of the physics department? (Or did I hear that wrong?)

Imdb.com is your new best friend.
Definitely not as strong as the first episode but it had some redeeming moments. Was cracking up at The Beak's line about "fucking, sucking and ... something-something trucking"
Long distance trucking.

Off-topic: I hope his movie does well. Can't wait for it.
The latest episode of Off Camera with Sam Jones (DirecTV) features an interview with Nanjiani. They have a lengthy discussion about the movie, The Big Sick.

Thank you for that. I live in the boonies and haven't seen any Stussy-wear. Heck, we're just now seeing UnderArmor.
Well, it was fun for a minute, thinking it was a shout-out to Fargo.
I don't really see it much anymore. I think I had a Stussy hat sometime during the late 80's-early 90's period.

Off topic: Is anyone watching Downward Dog? Alison Tolman -- Molly Solverson from S1 stars. In tonight's episode, she's dealing with a co-worker (I think it's her boss) who is wearing a tee-shirt with "Stussy" on the front. Just "Stussy".
Stussy is a clothing brand.

Did that accidental death scene remind anybody of the ending of that fantastic movie "The Grifters"? God, I love this year's series...it is so Fargo-eeeeee. Almost as good as the first season, but then that season had Billy Bob Thornton. So evil! He killed it that first season, but this new season is very very very good. Oh yeah, and Nikki, she was totally using Ray, she is one cool con! Love her.
I immediately had a flashback to The Grifters during Ray's death scene.

Just found this concerning "Ship of Fools" cover at end of the episode.

Interesting cover of World Party's "Ship of Fools" at the end. Shazam gave no results for the artist.
I listened to that World Party album (Private Revolution) a lot during high school/college.
Here's the original version.

I was watching the movie tonight and caught another reference. When Marge met Mike Yanagita at the Radisson in Minneapolis he told her he was living in Eden Prairie.

Always loved that song (whoever wrote it must've been burned real bad) and yeah...it was perfect for that sleazy nightclub 70's scene. Once again I wasn't really thrilled with Season 3 but there were some interesting characters in this LA episode that kept my attention. I wonder if Gloria took the hand-in-the-box back home with her. I would've!!
It was sitting in the back window of her police car when she got back to Minnesota.

Why would you leave your suitcase sitting outside on the sidewalk while you checked into a motel?

But if they are robots and artificial intelligence, what's with all the avian symbology ? The birds on the flags, and everyone calling them Raps (assumed to be short for raptors).
Maybe there is a really teeny tiny bird inside that sphere -- humanity ruled by hummingbirds. :)I keep wondering where the term "Rap" came from in the first place. How did it get coined? How did it originate? Are the humans who were apparently setting things up before the invasion responsible? Are they the ones who came up with all the bird symbols, etc.?

I liked that he was singing "We'll Meet Again".
To me, that song is always a reference to this. (Spoiler Warning for the end of Dr. Strangelove if you've never seen it.)
