Mario was pretty good but his lack of pop culture knowledge was fairly astounding. I'm not really up on current music either but even I've heard of "Single Ladies."

Same here. That type of music is nothing I would listen to but even I've heard that song.

The "Daniel Radcliffe" in the Harry Potter category was pretty astounding. I don't like the Harry Potter movies but I've seen several of them anyway because my wife likes them. It seems hard to believe someone still wouldn't know the actor that played Harry Potter. I guess my mother doesn't but she also doesn't have a computer and has never used the Internet. Hard to believe he had no idea who Radcliffe was especially since he works in TV/media.

They spent years making us believe Leonard's parents only had sex for reproductive purposes (oh and on their honeymoon) and then we have Beverly talking about Leonard walking in on her and the father playing some kind of kinky sex game.  Yeah, right.  Along those lines we've had Mary Cooper preach the fundie party line where sex is concerned and then we find that (a) as a young girl you could have her for a bottle of cheap wine and (b) she has wild sex all over her living room with the current boyfriend, to the point where the only "safe" place for Sheldon to sit was at the dining room table.  Again, yeah, right.

Give Mary a little more credit, it was a bottle of strawberry wine and a car ride. ;)

I love her first album, but I'm pretty sure that's not a cover.

Yeah, see my other post. That's the wrong link but I can't figure out how to delete it after its embedded in the post or just delete that entire post.  Exile in Guyville is a fantastic album.

  4. Ignore the previous post. I can't figure out how to delete it. (And don't click on it if you don't want to hear some NSFW words.)

This is what I was attempting to post:

I like the Springsteen original but The Band's cover of "Atlantic City" is really good. (Lots of people have covered this song.)

  5. I commented in one of the earlier episode threads that this was starting to get Dome-ish. I watched every episode of Under the Dome because it was just so fantastically horrible. I don't think WP has reached that level yet because at least it has slightly better acting and production values.

I really don't think there will be a season 3 for it to plunge closer to Dome depth.

    4. The soldiers are poorly trained kids, why didn't pilcher freeze some special forces, seals, maybe a batallion of marines. Anything would have been better.

There were soldier types guarding the mountain HQ and flying the helicopter last season. No explanation about what happened to them.

At least we didn't get an obligatory scene of Jason huffing off a tank of weirdness dioxide while dry humping Kerry while yelling 'Mommy Loves You" -- David Lynch's Blue Velvet was one weird movie.

One of my all time favorite films. :)

If I remember correctly, and unfortunately I think I do, we saw at least 3 different dogs in WP in S1.  After say 1500 years with no humans, any dogs would have probably been eaten by the Abbies, so that means they had to put the dogs in cryo -- so where are all the dog-sized cryo capsules ? Or did they just stack multiple dogs on top of each other to fill a regular people cryo pod (like that Doritos commercial with the dogs in the trench coat).

We also heard multiple dogs barking during the Margaret chase.

Semi-interesting trivia: This episode was directed by David Lynch's daughter, Jennifer.

I think I know what I will be listening to today at work...

I am now on E-Bay trying to find my old Cult T-shirt (well, not "mine"...though who knows? I suppose in some weird chain of events, it could be)--the one with Ian wearing a crown of thorns and pointing a gun.

I had a black long-sleeve t-shirt from that show. I'm not sure what happened to it and I can't find a picture online.

LOVE IT! I feel like The Cult has always been a bit underrated!

I was a big fan of The Cult back in the day. I saw them in Birmingham, AL in 1989. Good show but one of the opening bands, Dangerous Toys, was one of the worst bands I've ever seen. ;)

  11. I still don't see how the first people that were unfrozen built the entire town and wall before Group A woke up. It would take years and a huge amount of materials and construction equipment.

I like Hope Davis so I'm glad she can move on to something better than this.

Didn't Pilcher say something at the end of the massacre about starting to build? I thought those abbies lived in the area they wanted for building some of the city... so they cleared them out so they could take over.... meaning they basically built their town on abbie nesting grounds...  Surely the old town that was there got overgrown during the 2000 years and would have been forest, at least in parts.

I think he said they could start building the wall.

Monica has the unpleasant job as being the straight man/woman on the show.  However, just look to Arrested Development to see how that can still be hilarious.  I do like her character and she really did make a giant sacrifice for Pied Piper....almost as big as Jared/Donald's sacrifice in leaving Hooli the first season.

I would really like to see her character have a bigger role.

At long last, Theresa has finally been put out of her misery, and joins the rest of the former season one characters that I'm apparently not suppose to give a damn about anymore.  At least she managed to scape by for a few episodes, but that was an obvious development.  At least she hilariously had a final opportunity to tell Adam to fuck off and that she totally isn't in to him, when she finally went.  Fare thee well, Theresa!  Between being one of my favorites here and managing to be an awesome villain despite spotty writing on Sleepy Hollow, I hope Shannyn Sossamon gets another boost. I will always remember her from A Knight's Tale.

She'll always be Lauren from The Rules of Attraction to me. She was also good in Wristcutters: A Love Story.
