As soon as the guy said he was joining a garage band with some of his friends, I was just waiting to see who he actually was and who is band turned out to be. The amount of people who were somehow involved in Adams childhood who grew up to be well known is hilarious.

As soon as Geoff said his name was Evan and he was from Boston I thought, “Is this supposed to be Evan Dando?”

He always plays a kooky character.  He was also on The Closer playing a crazy guy who thought he was part of the squad and was actually allowed to help them solve the crime of the week.

He also appears on Silicon Valley from time to time as Richard’s doctor.

Does every episode need to be centered around a movie?  It's wearing thin.

I agree. I’m getting tired of almost every episode being a parody of an 80’s movie or TV show. I didn’t really enjoy this episode.

When the father was praying and the camera was panning the box of files, one folder had abduction spelled "Abdvction".  It was clearly a "v". Is this a show mistake or clue or just nothing?

I didn't pay attention to the kidnapper's note to see if there were any misspellings.

    Screenshot of the note:

Interesting. I haven't seen the unaltered, aired pilot since its first run, so I don't remember that scene. Did they say on the dvd why it was cut from the syndicated runs? For more commercial time? To make it play better in The Bible Belt in late afternoon reruns? Because it really didn't fit with the ascetic personality they decided to give Sheldon in episode two?

It was certainly the part of the unaired pilot that I found most cringe-worthy and un-amusing.

I guess it could have been for any of those reasons but I also though it might have been an attempt to retcon due to Sheldon basically being portrayed as asexual as the series went on. During the scene there’s this bit of dialogue :

Sheldon: Leonard, I don’t think I can do this.

Leonard: What, are you kidding? You’re a semi-pro.

Of course there are plenty of examples of the writers not paying a lot of attention to continuity so I could be wrong.

Check out The Bronze for a little different side of Rauch.

I saw that, I liked it.  Worth a watch I thought, wasn't great but wasn't bad.  And you get to hear her normal voice throughout (which is a little disorienting lol).

Yeah, it’s not great but it has it’s moments. Mostly because you get to hear her say things like:

”Get your bloated pussy in the car!”

  7. I thought Nightmare on Elm Street was pretty scary when it came out and I was in high school. My wife is 12 years younger than me and her older brother let her watch it when she was six. I think she’s still scarred from that experience.

Freaks and Geeks did a great episode revolving around a keg of non-alcoholic beer at a high school party. (“Beers and Weirs”.)

Like that Chen's speaking up to Bradford as he did put her at risk.  His test of stealing her belt was also interesting to me, as I hadn't thought about that aspect of police work.

I guess he was lucky there weren’t any other women in the bathroom.
