  1. Oh, is that girl gone now? I actually thought she was one of the only kids on the show that could act. I liked her story line, back when Jack was alive, she wanted to be an artist like Elizabeth's sister. Oh the good ole days.
  2. I tried but could not watch completely, just too campy and sad (I don't need to see Jack's widow giving doe eyes to two men). The reason why I watched in the past was the relationship between Jack and Elizabeth, not for either one specifically but both together. It is just not the same or anywhere near as compelling with this 'love triangle' they are pushing. Also, I checked the ratings for this episode, and it's tanking pretty bad when compared to previous years. I'm not sure about the spin-off 'When hope calls,' as I only watch the first episode when it was shown for free in Sept, but I did not like it. Last year for season one, they made people pay for 'When Hope Calls' because it's on their streaming channel, and I don't think they got the viewership they wanted. Now they are repeating season 1 right after WCTH on Sundays, and I think they had hoped that WCTH lead-in would help gain viewership for a possible season 2. But WCTH had it's worst season opener in years, and according to the ratings for 'When hope calls,' they did not keep many viewers watching. I was hoping that WCTH would do that Jack comes back (played by another actor) thing, Elizabeth would leave hope valley to join him, and the spin-off would then just take over the lives of the rest of the town. Sadly this did not happen, and now they have two shows; not many are genuinely interested (due to many of the same reasons).
  3. Ya like in the Matrix where the "Source" or mainframe can take over any body.
  4. Oh, right, yes, I agree with this comment. But even if I excused this show for ignoring the 'real-life' events happening during this time-line, they should at least keep moving forward in the fictional WCTH world. It's true that even in the fictional WCTH world, they don't seem to learn anything, the bad guy who was tried and convicted is still allowed back into the community to do the same thing again and again. Besides, they killed Jack, so it's never going to be a happy ending show either, which is why this show is now floundering. It's not a cannon Hallmark show nor a 'shock and awe' show (i.e. GOT). It has become a sham, a mere facade of both a Hallmark show and what a 'Period drama' should be.
  5. I love a "happy ending show," but it does not have to be conflict driven just logical progression. For example, Jack and Elizabeth getting married, having a baby, keeping both their jobs and all the issues that can arise from that dynamic. Lots of episodes could focus on being a young family, sickness, money problems, moral issues, along with the one-off stories coming from the townsfolk and the kids in the school. It does not need to be a 'shack and awe' kind of show, just a show that continually moves forward and allows the characters to grow within the universe of WCTH. I know that will never happen now except within the fanfiction universe, but oh, what could have been.
  6. I think this show is forcing relationships when no chemistry or history or build up exists. Then all the other characters just seem to flounder about. I just saw the Christmas day episode ratings and it's the lowest watched WCTH show in 4 years.
  7. Yes, it's good to see he is getting more diverse roles. I do watch The Rookie, and I thought he played his part well. It's a multi-episode spot, so that's good. I do feel he is really trying to break out of the Hallmark image, and that is fine. I do think that WCTH should have recast the role of Jack instead of having Elizabeth on the prowl for a new man with a baby in tow. A baby that will never know his father and a mother is so eager to forget and is so shallow as to flirt with multiple men. The whole feel of the show is different now, and I guess that's what they want. Just too sad for me to watch.
  8. Oh ya, there is an entire season involving his wings. They are a constant reminder of a life he wants to forget but it's part of who he is and until he came to embrace them and all that they mean he could not fully move on.
  9. OMG! I just saw a trailer for the Christmas movies and it's horrible. The Elizabeth character is in full 2019 Make-up with lots of eye make-up and fake eyelashes and is sitting there with her baby in the middle of the town reading a story (why?) and then the saloon owner comes over and starts flirting which the character returns. This show is no longer about the 1900's and it's just modern folks in costumes from that era. Just too sad.
  10. This is the case with most interesting characters on this show, including the dog (Rip). It's like they never existed. I hate that this is what they want to happen with Jack. Just wait they will stop using the name 'Jack' completely by calling the baby 'JJ' or 'Junior' so that name is never uttered again. So sad.
  11. No this is not an established fact. In fact she took the money they sent her in the boxes of clothes and books after she lost everything she brought when she accidentally burnt down the teacherage. The money was stuffed in a journal they sent and she even used that money to buy all the paint in the local story in an effort to allow the widows to stay in their company homes. She has never turned down any of the money she was given and in fact gladly accepts the shopping sprees and gifts given by her family when she visits. She just simply want to live her life the way she wants and that is the only reason she struck out on her own. Her father and mother are accepting of her decisions, although they would prefer her to stay home. Her father even granted Jack's request to marry Elizabeth and he came to town to walk her down the isle and gifted her a tiara that her Mother wore to wear in her wedding. Hallmark is trying to rewrite history and downplay what was the center piece of this show and it just too sad to endure.
  12. Yes absolutely agree. I also remember a scene at the sewing circle in season 1 where all the widows were criticizing some of the women for consorting with the new single minors. But all the women knew it was not just a choice about love but the fact that they have no money. Mary was trying to raise her son but he had to fish to make sure there was something for dinner. That's why the money that all the widows get at the end of season 1 gives so much hope and life to the new widows of the mine accident. Elizabeth is NOT in that situation, she was able to find love during the 5 years of the show and it took us alone with it. Yes Jack was her soulmate, from chalk dust to eternity.
  13. If Hallmark would have allowed Elizabeth and Jack to move away to the Northern Territories where Jack is not heard from much, but Elizabeth visits Hope Valley with their son a lot, I would have continued to watch. So long as Elizabeth was living a happy life with Jack and their son (children)somewhere out in the WCTH world, I would have watched the grass grow in Hope Valley with all the other town folks and school kids. But the way they built up Elizabeth and Jack, for 5 years, and then killed him was so traumatic I have not watched any rerun of WCTH since April 2018. AND I can't watch any new spin-off because of what they did to Jack. They are trying to rehash what was the love story of Jack and Elizabeth with this new show and it's not working. It was 5 Years of Jack and Elizabeth, and now they are playing WCTH like some teen movie trying to see which team people are on for her next husband! To sad.
  14. Awe the good old days! I really did love the movies. TV show, not so much.
  15. I completely agree I loved the first movie and really all the movies. It's kinda sad to make it into a TV show and then 'Hallmark it' and lose everything that was special about it.
  16. Oh my, I never thought of this scenario, I hope they don't go there. I just don't see Sam as a very loving Dad, he comes off so cold. I started watching the TV show because I loved the movies but the show loses so much of what was great about Cassie and Jake. No magic.
  17. Well this is good to know because I only watch on Netflix I won't see Season 5 for at least a year but it's something to look forward too. So far I have not liked Season 4 very much.
  18. I just found Good Witch recently on Netflix (I don't watch actual TV so I know I'm still behind current season) and I loved the movies. And even 1st season and 2nd season of the show was good. But 3rd and now the 4th season (just released on Netflix) episodes I have watch are so bland. Everything is about the wedding and I just don't feel it with those two. Sam is just too old and bland for Cassie. From the reviews I have read for season 5 I guess they did get married, but I don't see the spark I saw with Cassie's first husband, Jake (from the movies). I agree with this statement, it's all about hooking up with a guy. I'm just not certain where this show will go. Everyone has become so agreeable and 'normalized', even Cassie's shop looks like a hallmark store instead of the more mysterious tea, herbs and curios that she had in the the Good Witch movies. But I do love the movies, they were great I wish they stuck to that format instead of episodic TV show.
  19. At least she did not die. I like that this was announced in advance. I think it's a natural progression for the character and it leaves the door open for return visits.
  20. Ya, this is a thing these days. I must say I wish this was an option I had when my kid was newborn!
  21. I love shows that have a good run and know when to quit. I have binged the last 4 seasons and I thought it ended well with Lucifer sacrificing his happiness to save his earth family from demons by going back to hell voluntarily. So it should be interesting to see how all this gets wrapped up.
  22. OMG, I was wondering when someone would bring these old actors up, heck let's go back 40 years and bring up Susan Somers leaving 3's company, I heard about that when I was a small kid. Comparing Lissing to these old actors is in accurate, all of these actors had something waiting in the wings. It just did not pan out for them, but Lissing has nothing and is a relative nobody. No, what happened here, sadly, is that Dan was like many of us; start a great project but then other folks in the office start to take over. You know, like when you are given less and less to do, not invited to work meetings and you ideas are tabled for "other better" ideas. You don't get fired, they just keep pulling you down until you quit, then they say; "see he/she was the one that wanted to leave". Just sad but I agree with free2think and Stuffy, I'm done.
